Triple play vacation
It was a awesome time and great location on triple play and or silverwood. It was very nice inside. Newly remodeled and updated.
Very well put together, everything was clean and neat. We loved our short stay, everything was labeled and organized. We'll definitely stay again when we're in CDA
Nice Owner, Lacks Amenities, Has Safety Issues, Lacks Curb Appeal
Owner was very cordial and helpful once we checked in and quickly responded to requests for information about property, however after we had rented the and fully paid for our stay, we were concerned because owner would not provide access information until the day of check in, quoting, "security reasons". We received check in information only after our flight landed at Spokane airport, just 3 hours before our check in time.
Unit is a renovated upper level of a 1930s two story house. It is about 900 sq ft in size. The interior is nicely finished and very clean. The window air conditioners kept the living room and the master bedroom cool, but there is no air conditioning for the other two bedrooms. The window air conditioner in the master bedroom was too noisy to sleep while it was running. The master bedroom was decent size. The other bedrooms are fairly small for having queen beds. All bedrooms lack amenities such as table lamps and alarm clocks.
Eating area is a countertop island in the kitchen with 6 backless stools. Only 4 persons would be able to comfortably sit at the eating bar at one time. Fortunately, there were only 4 of us. Only 5 cereal bowls and 4 coffee cups were provided. Otherwise there were sufficient plates, and glassware.
Safety issues include no railing on the stairway leading from the entrance to 2nd floor unit. A wrap around porch is in the process of being added to the outside of the house. Three steps going down from the porch are of uneven height. Bottom step is about 12 inches in height where the other two steps were about 7 inches high. Both my wife and I who are in our 70s nearly fell the first morning when we stepped down from the bottom step. Even though all bedrooms had smoke detectors, we did not notice a fire extinguisher in the unit. No information about how to escape the unit in case of fire was provided.
No exterior pictures of the house, the property, or the neighborhood are shown on the VRBO listing. Construction is currently in progress on the wrap around porch. Building materials are stacked on part of the porch, insulation is exposed where the porch roof has been attached to the house, and there is construction debris stacked under a carport on the opposite side of the house from the driveway. There is unfinished electrical wiring on the porch. Several old vehicles, including a bus are parked on the lot beside and behind the house. All of this detracts from the property appearance.
Beautifully remodeled upstairs home.
This 2nd story home worked great for 6 people. We would rate it 5 stars except for the outside porch area which is undergoing renovation. The host lives nearby and was very helpful and responsive. The neighborhood is quiet, helping a good night’s sleep!
