Come enjoy our wonderful vacation home in Breckenridge. As renters ourselves for many years and as owners who enjoy staying at Wapiti Lodge as much as we can, we have furnished, equipped and 'amenitized' our home with YOUR stay in mind. We have taken all the personal touches that you get with a second home and combined them with the professionalism that you would expect from a property management to give you the best rental experience in Breckenridge.

Our home is 4000 square feet, with 8 Bedrooms (4 are master suites), 6 Bathrooms, a great room, a family room and a game room with a pool/ping-pong table. It sleeps up to 19 (14 adults max.) and has plenty of room inside and out. Relax in the hot tub after a hard day of skiing or hiking. Curl up with a book by a warm fire. Challenge a friend to a game of pool. Tackle a 1000 piece puzzle. Sit on the swing in the backyard and listen to the Blue River as it runs by. Watch one of your favorite old movies on the 47 inch HDTV. Have fun cooking a meal for friends and family in a kitchen that has everything you need. And then there is the town of Breckenridge with all it has to offer. At Wapiti Lodge you are just a short walk to town and the Free Ride Breckenridge's free bus service) bus stop is one door up.

There are eight bedrooms. Six are upstairs. They are:

1) Master #1:King bed, private bath and private balcony, HDTV/DVD (2)

2) Master #2:Queen bed, private bath and private balcony, HDTV (2)

3) Master #3:Queen bed and private bath, HDTV (2)

4) Master #4:Queen bed and private bath, HDTV/DVD (2)

5) The 5th bedroom has a full/twin bunk(3)

6) The 6th bedroom has 2 twins, they share a hall bath. (2)

There are two bedrooms downstairs. They are:

7) The 7th bedroom has a twin bunk bed, en suite sink (2)

8) The 8th bedroom has 2 sets of twin bunk beds, share downstairs bathroom (4)

Wapiti Lodge has a great room with a wood burning fireplace (wood provided), a family room with 47 inch HDTV (with expanded channels) and a DVD player as well as a game room with a pool/ping pong table. All master suites have their own flat screen HDTV. Two of the master bedrooms also have DVD players. The fully equipped kitchen is large and open to the dining room and great room for optimal socializing with the cook(s). The dining room has two tables that can be arranged for your group's needs. Twelve chairs are around the tables and there are 6 padded folding chairs which can be brought in if needed. The dining room also has a bar console so you can set up for cocktails out of the way of the cooks. The kitchen counter bar has seating for four. The house has several child friendly amenities including two pac-n-plays, booster seat, table and chairs and sleds. The backyard has a children’s jungle gym and swing set. There are two decks with deck furniture.

The pantry/utility room has a large capacity washer and dryer, laundry sink and plenty of storage room . The house has two 75 gallon hot water heaters so you’ll have more than enough hot water for everyone in your group. The kitchen was totally redone in Dec. of 2010 with all new countertops, appliances and cabinets. The kitchen has two ovens, a 5 burner gas cook top, 2 microwaves, dishwasher and a Sub Zero refrigerator.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to cook and serve for 20. A second refrigerator is in the game room.

Breckenridge is the ideal location for both summer and winter vacations. It puts you in the middle of world class skiing, snowboarding, fishing, and golfing, so whatever the season there is always a reason for Breckenridge.

About Katie Kingsbery

The Russell Clan currently lives all over the country - Illinois, Nevada, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida - but share a love for Colorado which began in 1983 when Grandparents Phil and Connie were stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver. The love continued when son Richard and new bride Kristie moved to the Denver area in 1998. Grandson Russell followed in 2003 to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Other family members, no longer able to stay away, joined together to purchase Wapiti Lodge, a home gracious and spacious enough for all of us to be together.

Katie Kingsbery purchased this house in 2005

Why Katie Kingsbery chose Warrior's Mark

What's not to love about Breckenridge? It is a wonderful mountain town with something for everyone and a town with as much to do in the summer as in the winter. Breckenridge gives us a wonderful respite from the sweltering heat and humidity back East and some true winter weather absent from the South. Its proximity to Denver makes it easily accessible for those who have to fly to Colorado. We can be in Breckeridge in under two hours after landing at DIA. Access to world class fly fishing, skiing, dining, shopping, hiking, not to mention the surrounding beauty and scenery made Breckenridge an easy choice.

What makes this house unique

After the home itself, with all its charm and comfort, the second most wonderful thing about Wapiti Lodge is its proximity to town. Katie and Doug often walk into town in the morning for a breakfast burrito. Connie and Phil are known to walk to town to get the paper. Ellen (the big shopper of the family)is usually able to convince someone to walk into town to go shopping. Richard and Kristie's three girls, ages 10, 12, and 14, love to walk to town knowing they can always take the bus home (the shuttle stop is one door up). And the whole family has been known to walk into town after dinner for ice cream. In the winter when the weather does not permit you to walk, the free shuttle takes just minutes to get to the base of Peak 9, downtown, or the gondola. The shuttle is frequent, reliable and easy to use.

Fabulous for Big Groups!

  • 5 of 5

10 over-40 ski bums stayed here. It was set up perfectly for a big group of individuals. Multiple families could easily stay here too. The house was over and above set up in terms of appliances, housewares etc. At other rentals, I would need to go to target for basic stuff like spices and coffee filters etc. But not here. Many items are in the pantry for use by renters. Great set up. Thanks a bunch

Wapiti Lodge is a wonderful home for a big group of family or friends. Spacious and close to town.

  • 5 of 5

My group of 14 fit in this home perfectly! Everyone in a bed, everyone at the table, everyone happy. Lots of space to spread out across the two living spaces and game room. And the shuttle comes almost right to the house, so getting to the slopes is just a short ride around the corner. Love this place!

This is an amazing house; close to the lifts, modern, fully outfitted for comfort and so quiet!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed 5 nights at this beautiful warm and inviting house. It was a family reunion with ages from 85 to 8 months. Our time together was so great and a main reason was staying here. It's close to the drop off lifts for our boarders, so comfy for the kids and babies to spend the days at home, plenty of room for games nights and quiet time in our rooms. The bedrooms were spacious and had all you could need and more. The house is so quiet and the rooms sound proof - considering we had 4 babies under a year! . The kitchen was outfitted with everything you could ask for; small appliances, great pots and pans, plenty of dishes and lots of cupboard space for all the food we brought to feed our group for the week. Getting to town was easy, even walked back from town one day- very easy.

We loved being able to stay in one home among 9 families represented. Preparing to come was a joy as the owner was so helpful and open to ensure our time was special. Overall this was a very special time and we are so grateful to have an amazing place to build memories that will last.... thank you so much

Great Location and good layout for a large group

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen had all the cooking supplies we needed. The kids loved the bunk near the pool table. The lodge was well maintained. The location is perfect close to town for shopping, close to peak 9 parking and lifts, a very short walk to the free shuttle.

We will denfinitely be back next year!
