Great Family Beach House
We loved staying at Tammy's house! She offered great communication and gave us a detailed list of info leading up to our stay. We've travelled all over North America and this might have been our favorite house that we've ever stayed in. The inside was immaculate and offered plenty of space for our multi-family group with kids. The Thunder Cove beach that is only a few minutes walk from the house is beautiful and was the best beach we visited on the island. The Cabot Park beach near Malpeque was great too and only a short drive. For food nearby, we recommend Ship to Shore and Kitchen Witch. Since the island is small, it was convenient for us to go visit to Kensington, Cavendish and Charlottetown from here too. We'd highly recommend staying here for a great PEI family getaway!
Excellent experience, highly recommend this cottage!
My family and I had a lovely weekend at Thunder Cove. The cottage is beautiful and very well stocked. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Lots of things to do. The first evening was very rainy weather but the inside of the cottage is so comfortable and welcoming that it was also a great experience. They even had board games and cards to entertain us!! The remainder of the weekend was much nicer weather so we enjoyed all the outdoor activities and a nice campfire in the beautiful firepit. That beach is second to none. Lots of room for my grandchildren to run around outside. Lots of toys to keep them busy. We were sad to leave as 3 nights went by way too fast.....should have booked a longer stay!
Gorgeous house, perfect location, world class beach
The house was even better than we expected from the listing. It’s large and sparkling new. Could easily and comfortably fit 4 kids and 4 adults.
Location was better than I could have imagined. The beach is world class, with private access to an area with stunning rock formations and clear water. It’s just a short private walk through some hedges and you arrive at a gorgeous cove. We felt extremely lucky.
It was a gorgeous and easy drive to surrounding towns and there were great seafood restaurants nearby. We toured several other areas and beaches and after a few days we hadn’t found anything more perfect than this spot in Darnley and Thunder Cover beach.
Every amenity was provided, from the fire pit and wood outside, to the multiple decks including one off the master bedroom overlooking the ocean, the grill, perfect kitchen, outdoor shower, and tons of thoughtful details. All brand new.
We’d come back in a heartbeat.
Immaculate Cottage, Breathtaking Nature
It was such a treat to stay in this immaculate cottage! We loved the open floor plan, high ceilings, and the large bathroom upstairs. The house had everything we needed, and there was even an emergency smart phone. We didn't use the balcony off the main bedroom very much; the trees haven't grown tall enough yet for full privacy from the house next door. But we visited in mid-June, before the busy season, so there were times when we were the only ones on the beach, which was closer than expected. If you like birds, there's a chorus of warblers out there! When we first pulled up, there were a couple snowshoe hares in front of the house, and we watched them chase each other playfully over the course of the week. Once morning, one came up on the porch and peeked in at us, which ultimately inspired us to purchase some artwork with a hare to commemorate the trip. We visited the home that inspired Green Gables, spent a day in Charlottetown (you have to eat at Terre Rouge!), visited lots of artisan shops (Victoria by the Sea is a great little spot for this), and took a boat tour of North Rustico harbor in search of whales (Blue Mussel is another great restaurant). And of course the landscape is breathtaking ~ think Maine + Ireland. We loved our stay. Thank you.
Pictures do not do this place justice. It was beautiful and a great location. House was super clean and the owner gave very clear instructions for everything making it a very positive experience!
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Close to the beach. Beach was soft sand and shallow water with lots for the family to explore. We will be back - save us a week!
