We lucked out!
This was my first experience with VRBO, so we weren't sure as to how it work out. The house was immaculate and very well-appointed. We had three generations of people and there was plenty of space for us to hang out as a group and still be able to retreat to our own rooms. The owner provided detailed instructions, was readily available and responded to our every need. We all fell in love with Grand Marais, even in November!
Cozy and pretty
This is a lovely VRBO. Nestled into a wooded lot with a peek at Lake Superior. I listened to a babbling brook outside the bedroom window at night. The radiant floor heating and fire place kept us warm. The house was clean and the host was easy to communicate with. It’s a 2 mile drive from Grand Marais. We would return to this home to stay again.
Definitely NOT close to town as stated. Easily a 7 minute drive down into town. Not walkable. Lol. Nice home. The request for separation of garbage and recycling is good in theory, but very awkward in execution. There is no place to put the garbage when the bags fill. Great house for families, however, the walls are very thin. We could hear every and every footstep from anywhere in the house. Nice deck, wish there was an outdoor fire pit. Nice view.
Well, walking and distance is all relative. If you often walk, like I do, 2.2 miles to town is not a big deal, but driving is easier like you say. As far as other issues, you could have called me and I would have been glad to help you, I mentioned that in my welcome email, I gave you my number, never heard a peep! There were/are two metal garbage cans right by the garage door for garbage. As far as "Paper House" goes, that's all objective too. You are the first person to complain about this, or pretty much anything the whole summer/fall. It's tough to make everyone happy, but I try! :-)
Clean home close to town, but still had the feeling of being remote.
Would stay here again in a heart beat. The home was very clean and well stocked. The owners was great to work with and easy to get ahold of. Have stayed at several homeaway homes and this so far has been the best. It was a wonderful family vacation!
Beauitful, spacious home with lots of natural light and views of nature everywhere. A “cook’s kitchen”, nice bed linens and towels and other nice touches.
Great fall weekend getaway with friends!
Our group really enjoyed Steve's place. It was exactly as described, super clean, easy to find and easy to check in. It had plenty of space for our three couples. We grilled out, enjoyed the deck and view of the big lake.
Soaking in a hot tub was the only thing we were missing.
I would recommend it to others planning a trip to Grand Marais and the North Shore!
