Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location! Clean apartment and friendly neighbors! My husband, six month old and I went for a spring beach getaway and this was perfection. We knew we wouldn't have warm enough beach weather but that didn't stop of from keeping busy. We will definitely be back!

We rented the top floor. Clean and spacious. Beautiful view of the ocean. The beach was not super busy. Close to town but no interference with relaxation. Great time!!

Relaxing vacation with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to have a relaxing trip for our anniversary. He searched for beach houses in Maine and found the perfect one! We stayed 4 nights in the top floor of this beautiful home. The property was clean and well-maintained. The views of the ocean were amazing! The kitchen has HUGE windows looking over the balcony onto the beach and ocean. The sound of the ocean waves were so soothing. Our visit was prior to the "peak season", so the beach was very quiet and secluded on weekdays, getting a little busier on the weekend. The owner, Sue, was very responsive to our needs and offered advice for places to go and things to do. We will definitely visit again!

Clean, quiet, beautiful views of beach & sunrise.

  • 5 of 5

As in the review title if this is what you are looking for this is the place for you. Very clean, quiet and the porch provided relaxing views of the surrounding areas, even the weekly fireworks down the beach. The unit is close to town for shopping or restaurants but the shopping crowds never interfered with the feeling of relaxation on the beach front. We have recommended this property to our friends and relatives, especially those with children because of the clean beach and gentle waves and lack of congestion so supervision would never be a problem.

We are anxiously looking forward to spending another week here next summer!!

4.5 out of 5 Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

You could not ask for a better location! Soft sandy beach right outside the door. Close enough to the pier to enjoy amusements but far enough away not to be bothered by it. The unit was perfect size for our family of five. Simple not fancy with all amenities you would need for the week. Will stay here again without a question.

Great Location, but please read before renting

  • 4 of 5

I would give this property a 3.5, but as you cannot give half star ratings, I will round up to 4 stars. The location may be one of the best in Old Orchard Beach. Large windows all around give you a wonderful view of the ocean. Plenty of room in the unit for a family, and a picnic table on the deck for meals with an ocean view.

Upon arrival, we quickly met our neighbors, as they were already in Unit C, which was listed in our contract, and the owners told us that we were actually in Unit B. Simple mistake. We also noticed we did not have a grill as promised, so the owners quickly provided one. Walking into the bedrooms, we found that you must walk through one room to get to the other. This was NEVER advertised this way and could be a deal breaker for some. Walking in the bathroom, the door handle was broken and would not lock. Other things like burnt out light bulbs or broken blinds were also present. All of these are cheap and easy fixes that could have very well been taken care of before our stay.

I wanted to turn on cartoons for our child, however, the cable was not working. We were told they were transitioning to another provider. A few days later, as the family just sat down for breakfast and the baby was put down for a nap, we get a loud knock on the door as the new provider’s technicians were here to put in the new box. This was a nuisance, as it disrupted our breakfast as the worker walked in and out and talked loudly and woke the baby. It would have been nice to be notified of this service during our stay and we could go out for breakfast that day. Opening the BBQ grill, we noticed a large hole in the bottom. How is this safe to use on a wooden deck??? I placed a metal pan at the bottom for the charcoal and attempted to cook chicken, but couldn’t get enough heat so we tossed them. I told my family to take the remaining meat home with them, as I would not attempt another grilling night and we would just eat out the rest of the week.

All of this being said, I had the time of my life here. Maybe it’s because I’m a very easy going person, or that my family just made it wonderful, but I left Maine with great memories and for that reason, I gave this place 3.5 stars. I wanted to inform all about this property as to not be caught off guard like we were. But, I would suggest this place to other friends and family with the disclaimers of all mentioned above, and if they are ok with it all then I would highly recommend they stay here.
