We are from Philadelphia and own a small business. Our life is very busy. Frank is the pizza man and Mary is a freelance graphic artist. The Lakehouse is our 3rd child. We love it that much and hope that visitors will too. Its humble and serene and our savior from the busy loud city.
Mary & Frank Maimone purchased this cottage in 2008
The Lakehouse is a beautiful peaceful escape for those seeking that sort of thing. The sunsets are spectacular. It is open 4 seasons and each season treats us to its own unique experiences. Depending on the time, you can swim, boat, fish, sled, ice-skate, walk the lake or paddle it. Always cozy inside and relaxing outside in the hammock or not he couch gazing out on the lake. There's tons of different birds to watch as well as great fishing both ice and regular. Its just a great place to clear your head, breath clean air and escape. We all need to escape once in a while right?
The most amazing sunsets you will ever see as well as the most dramatic weather and weather changes. Its truly a beautiful place.
Me and my girlfriends spent last Labor day here and I've been meaning to get on here an write a review for a while now. All I can say was it was the perfect getaway. The home has so much to offer on the lake..paddleboat, canoe, kayaks! The floating dock was a perfect spot to tan and relax. Although a small house it was the perfect spot for a small group. Everything you needed was in the home..the firepit was the selling point and the homeowners supplied all the wood!! I am so grateful to have spent such a memorable holiday here. Many thanks to the homeowners and I hope to return soon :)

The owners were great to work with, the place was clean and comfortable. There is a nice deck for eating outside so you can watch the sunset over dinner. The lake is peaceful and quiet, we saw a bald eagle fly across it a couple times our last night there. Kayak and paddleboat are ready to go, the town of Hamlin is nearby for anything you might need, but the cottage is far enough off the beaten path to give you a sense of seclusion. Cable/DVD/Wi-fi work great for those who don't want to detach from "reality" entirely. Would definitely go back.
Just stayed at the Lakehouse this weekend. Everything was perfect. Comfy house, beautiful lake, fire pit, and lots of fun. Hope to come back soon!
The lake house was wonderful! All the amenities you could ask for. Very clean and comfortable.
Too much milfoil in the lake to enjoy it to the fullest. Spent too much time pulling it off my propeller, and prevents swimming.
This was a great place for me and what I was looking for. We were very happy with the overall weekend. If you are into a little ATV adventures I would recommend Lost Trails which is fairly close.
Had an amazing time at the Lakehouse. Firepit, swimming, horseshoes, comfy home and a sweet view of the lake. Plan to go back again.
My girlfriend and I had a great stay at this Lake House for president's day weekend... Everything was as nice or better than pictured, and the lake was beautiful. The fireplaces kept us warm throughout the weekend with over 20" of snow on the ground. Great customer service- owner offered to switch out for a different weekend due to the snowy conditions, but we made it down anyway. Peaceful weekend, very quiet and beautiful. We went snowboarding at Montage mountain, about 20 minutes away. Would highly recommend!
Golf course, driving range, horse back riding, animal park, zoo, paintball and hiking on state land - all just minutes away. Half hour to CamelBack Waterpark/ski resort. Rental includes a two person kayak, and a four person paddle boat. Light a fire in the outdoor fire pit at night and take the paddle boat out on the lake to look at the stars. The fire will guide you back home. The Viewmont mall is only 22 minutes away, on the other side of the mountain. All the big mall stores and restaurants, including Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday's, Texas Steak house, Red Lobster and Starbuck's are all there. Or just stay home and Bar-B-Q on the gas grill -then take the kids to the drive-in movies for a real treat.
Golf: There are numerous golf courses w/ in 30 minutes and very reasonably priced. The closest is Scranton Municipal Course that is about 10 min. away and very nice. Please feel free to ask us about any others nearby.
Ski: Montage is the closest at about 20 minutes away. Camelback and Elk are about 30 min.
