Plettenberg Bay is an area of outstanding natural beauty with and unmatched climate .
The house is within walking distance of beach and lagoon as well as shops and restaurants but is extremely seculded and private.
We have had the most wonderful holiday, your house is so beautiful and so well decorated, and comfortable, we would really love to take it again next year for 3 weeks if it were possible.Cindy has been very helpful .
If you want to be constantly astounded by one of the most stunning and beautiful views in the world then you have to stay at this house in Plettenburg Bay.
My wife Carol and I have lived and worked all around the world and so we have seen some of the most beautiful places in the world. Nothing, however, comes close the holiday we had recently in Plettenburg Bay. We had the opportunity to stay in what we believe is one of the best houses in the resort. Sure there are plenty of bigger and grander houses but that takes away from what this property has to offer in easy living combined with a stunning surroundings
This house offers a quiet comfortable retreat for a couple who want to relax to a flexible and open living home for more active families. It is decorated in such a way as to complement and enhance the abundance of natural light that fills the main living areas. The open spaces make it an ideal location for people wanting easy outdoor living.
Walking into the house it is deceptive how big the house is. Being built on a slope, the house is split on two levels and the spacious lounge, dining area and balcony/terrace make up most of the first floor. The kitchen is fully fitted with all mod cons and opens onto a large covered outside eating area which can comfortably seat ten people.
The house has four double bedrooms two en-suite and two with separate shower and bathroom. Three of these are situated downstairs along with a large comfortable living room with a television and satellite television. This area opens out through large doors onto another patio with a pool and a barbeque area.
The house is also close to many of the best beaches in South Africa and water sport facilities. This is complimented by a good size town which has all the facilities you will need for a perfect holiday. The restaurants range from relaxed and family friendly to fine dining.
After a very short stay in the house we had to return overseas and we have only one regret – that we did not stay longer. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had and that was made possible by the house, the facilities, the relaxed living and without doubt the world class view.
Calling this a beach house is a huge understatement. Yes, it overlooks the beach and is decorated in the traditional colours of white with blue accents, accessorised with shells and sea scapes. But it is so much more. The indoor living areas are light, spacious and comfortably, even lavishly furnished. The kitchen is beautifully designed and equipped and apparently a joy to cook in. I didn't actually do any cooking as I was busy watching for whales. Ok it was the wrong time of year for whales but it was no hardship to lounge on the comfortable furniture on the spacious deck with panoramic views of the bay and lagoon. I did see flamingos, sun birds and louries and active people sailing and fishing and other interesting things.
There is another comfortable lounging area by the pool which connects to another sitting room with a tv for addicts.
Like the rest of the house, my bedroom was beautifully decorated and appointed. It has a huge picture window overlooking the bay so I went to sleep to the sound of the waves and woke to a view of the sea. Magic!
Surprisingly we did sometimes leave the house. Plet has many good restaurants and shops. We also visited Nysna and a wine estate for tasting and lunch. Apparently there are other interesting things to do and see such as the.elephant sanctuary and various sports but relaxing at home was too big a draw.
All in all, we had a wonderful week and would love to return. I would recommend this to anyone.
On walking into the sitting room with its world-class views, the only suitable response was and is: "WOW". And it got better from there. Every detail has been considered, every comfort catered for. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have ever had the pleasure of producing food for a group of people in, and the views over the lagoon and beaches are, well, stunning. Morning, noon and night. Living areas are vast and comfortable, with light-filled airy space and plenty of sofas to sprawl out on while one admires the stellar location of this place. The bedrooms are spacious and really comfortable, with no bathroom-sharing needed, such is the abundance of facilities. We loved Halcyon Hill and are counting the days until we can return, it was so very special.
Our party of seven, including two small children, loved this property. The views from this beach house are simply jaw dropping (even better than the photos on the website!). We spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck and looking out at the Keurbooms River with its backdrop of the Tsitsikamma mountains. The house is built to maximize the spectacular view, which you can see from all but one of the bedrooms and from the sitting room and adjoining deck.
We found the house very comfortable with room enough for everyone.
The décor is in keeping with the beach location – blue and white - and the rooms are light and airy. There is a large kitchen and we enjoyed using the pool, especially as the water was lovely and warm.
The location couldn’t have been better, with beaches, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. There is also a supermarket and shopping centre a short drive away. We enjoyed going to the Lookout, especially for breakfast and cocktails in the evening, and it was fun browsing the handicrafts at Old Nick’s nearby. What a fantastic holiday! We were truly sorry to leave, but we will be back. A week just wasn’t long enough. Thanks Glynis!
A fantastic location and beautiful house for our first family vacation to South Africa. The house and location are just stunning, and it has everything to make life easy. Very very convenient for everything in Plett - restaurants, the beach, supermarket, whale watching and other attractions. The owner is very helpful, easy to deal with, takes on board feedback and responds quickly. All in all, a great choice.
When we arrived at this house (7 IN GROUP) we were absolutely delighted. Everyone was saying wow! The rooms were spotless, so stylish and very tasteful and the views were to die for. Cindi (housekeeper) was there to greet us and Glynis the owner phoned to check all was ok. The pool area and decking were brilliant, looking onto the fantastic views of the bay. The beach nearby was fabulous and we saw quite a few dolphins. A good choice of eateries , however our favourite was the 'Lookout' 2 minutes walk down the hill. Our group have travelled all over the world but I have to say that this house was one of the nicest places I have stayed in. The only dissappointment was leaving to come home. We have wonderful memories and would love to return there again. Wonderful Wonderful House. Thank you Glynis - we had a great holiday.
