Summer Wind is a private cottage on White Pond, Chatham Massachusetts.
Off the main roads but close to the beaches and down town it is a great place for a family vacation or get-a-way weekend. Yes you can swim in the pond at the beach house any time you want :)
Our second year of staying at Paul's cottage and found it just as homey as last year. The place is clean and in a quiet cottage colony close to the center of Chatham.
This cabin is perfect if you want to stay close to Chatham but want your own place away from the busy Chatham tourist activity. It's close enough to town that you can bike there in minutes and just far away enough to let you have your own quiet place to relax at the end of the day. Our kids were able to bike to Hardings beach and my wife and I biked to the Monomoy Coffee Company in Chatham every morning for coffee and pastries. Pond is the perfect size for canoeing and kayaking, which we did. The owner was great! Paul is very easy to reach and made sure we had everything we needed for a great vacation.
We can't wait for next summer!
The cottage and surroundings were just what we anticipated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and were impressed by the attention to detail in the information provided in the welcome package. The cottage provided for a relaxed and peaceful vacation. We look forward to returning in the future.
I stayed at Paul's house this June and loved the place and loved the town of Chatham. The place was quaint and was great for what needed. We were in Chatham for a wedding and wanted a small house to call our own for the weekend. The owner Paul was wonderful and was very detailed in his communications. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for everything, Paul
Our vacation was wonderful from the very beginning (booking) till the end. Paul was so helpful in every step of the way and we were sure that the place is going to be as nice as he is.
Kids cannot wait to come back next year. Thank you!
My family of 3 enjoyed a week at this sweet little cottage in the quaint town of Chatham. Upon arrival, the cottage was neat and tidy as promised. It also included all of the amenities described in the listing. The owner was engaged and concerned about making sure our stay was comfortable, calling to check on us the first day.
The house is situated in a small neighborhood of similar-sized cottages. We found the neighbors to be friendly and quiet. While we could not see the water from the cottage, it was a short walk to the boat dock. We also had easy access to Chatham and other nearby towns as the cottage is situated off a main road.
The only thing we were a little disappointed in is that a construction project was started about 100 feet from the house. So, during the day we could hear the bulldozers, etc. However, the owner tried to make this right by contacting the town's government as he had not received prior notice of the project. The construction ended around 5 p.m. each day, so our sleep was not disturbed.
One recommendation we have is for future guests to bring their own blankets as we weren't sure if the ones left at the cottage had been laundered. There is a laundry facility a couple of miles away, which we ended up using to wash the blankets for our stay.
All in all, we highly recommend this cottage as a fantastic family vacation spot. Chatham was a cute as could be - one of the nicest towns on The Cape we visited. A+!
Downtown Chatham has some beautiful stores and restaurants to shop, dine and unwind. This is a real old fashioned comfortable Cape Cod town. You can visit the penny candy store or ice cream shops. If you can catch the Friday night band concert on the town green. You have to get there early as it does fill up quickly.
The sports minded can golf at the Chatham Bars golf course, bike or jog on the Cape Bike Trail or charter a deep sea fishing excursion. Tour the Chatham lighthouse and take in the view at Lighthouse Beach. This is the southernmost beach of the Cape Cod National Sea Shore and it is outstanding.
