Guestbook comments from the owner

It's been a very fun and relaxing holiday here and we've really, really enjoyed it. Your home is so well stocked and cozy and in such a beautiful spot. So quiet and peaceful! I will miss my tea on the dock or the porch every morning! We loved our time at your home.

Exceeded Our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

The description of Cranford-on-Miles is accurate - and understated, in my view. Every aspect of our visit exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful, the setting spectacular and the owner, Lisa, provided superb customer service. The only problem: our stay was too short! We had a couple of days...Would love to return again for a longer visit.

Five of us (two couples and a single adult) visited during an unusually cool and partly cloudy/showery period in early May. Our son just graduated from college in DC, and we were looking for some celebratory relaxation. The house had more than enough room for us all. The balconies off the second floor, the Adirondack chairs on the lawn and the bench at the end of the dock were wonderful private spots for watching the river and wildlife, reading, relaxing and quiet chats. The layout of the first floor (the open kitchen, dining room, living room, and screened in porch) was perfect for celebrating. I loved the CD collection - eclectic musical choices! The kitchen is incredibly well -appointed. Everything we needed in terms of utensils and appliances.

The weather did not cooperate, so we did not avail ourselves of the kayaks. And though we rented bikes, we did not use them. But, next trip - both those activities will be on the agenda! St. Michael's is close by. Charming town - and quiet during our mid-week visit. We had a nice dinner at Theo's - the bartender and waitress were welcoming. The surrounding area is beautiful. And we recommend a visit to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The volunteer boat-builders gave us great insight to the history and culture of the area.

Bottom line: I highly recommend Cranford-on-Miles. Perfect getaway. Thanks again, Lisa!

Wine Fest Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Cranford on Miles was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better location-water views for miles. The house has a cozy cottage feel, yet is decorated in beautiful antiques that shares a history of the house and St. Michaels. There are modern amenities mixed with old world charm. We had 3 couples staying in the house and were very comfortable. We enjoyed time in the house and sitting on the dock relaxing. If I had to share any problem, and this is not a big problem for a weekend stay; especially if you want to disconnect in order to reconnect with friends and family, is the internet is very slow and the TV channels were limited.

Lisa is a joy to work with and is very accommodating. Without a doubt in my mind, I would stay at Cranford on Miles again and again.

Nice location for a family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had a wedding in St. Michaels recently and we wanted to stay in a private home so my husband and I and our kids (who now live on their own) could all be together and make a weekend of it. I'm so happy we chose the home over one of the local hotels. The Cranford was comfortable, cozy and clean. The grounds were lovely and the views were terrific. The home is nicely located between Easton and St. Michaels, there's plenty of parking, and we found a great restaurant very close by (T at the General Store). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners are lovely people and are quick to respond to email inquiries. Thanks for a great weekend!

Perfect trip

  • 5 of 5

It was a friends wedding and my fiances first time meeting my closest girl friends and THIS was a perfect location for everyone to meet. When we were not doing wedding things we were able to go swimming, kayak on the water, grill, play board games and catch up until the wee hours in the morning. The beds were amazing the board games made us laugh and waking up to coffee on the dock was a real treat. Lisa came the morning we left and we had the chance to meet with her and share cup of coffee.

I would highly recommend the house for ANY reason. It was our first time using VRBO.com and this was a perfect experience. Next time we travel to the eastern shore MD we will give Lisa a call and indulge in this amazing, well maintained, stunning, and fun house!

Cozy Home

  • 5 of 5

We visited in the end of Sept. for a girl's weekend/40th bday relaxing getaway. It was a little chilly so we didn't get to fully enjoy the outdoor areas, but the setting beautiful. The house was well maintained and perfect for the 6 of us. It was a short drive into town and the owner had given us great recommendations. We can't wait to go back.

Vacation paradise

  • 5 of 5

We visited the area in early August and had a terrific stay at this house. The owner was extremely helpful and was a pleasure during the planning of our vacation details. The house was a perfect fit for our needs and the pictures clearly depict the home and surroundings although the views were better than shown! Plan to return next year!
