Amazing spot, comfortable place

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Newport. The condo is a little "outdated" but very clean, very well maintained and affordable. Nothing is missing and everything works. The location is perfect, the kids enjoyed the big pool (me too), we fished on the lake, the beautiful village is close and has all the stores you need. The highlight of the condo is the sun room facing the lake, we had all our meals with a gorgeous view. You'll remember there what the sound of silence is at night, so quiet and relaxing. An overall great stay in a place we recommend. We would definitely love to come again. Thank you Mike Gregoire!

A great get away.

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely condo in a picturesque location. This first floor condo was well stocked, including some basic condiments. It was very cozy and very clean. Sitting at that little table, drinking coffee, in the morning was so relaxing. We plan to stay there again. Next time we will bring kayaks.

Comfortable, clean, homey and fun

  • 5 of 5

We just came back from the condo three days ago and I was anxious to write a review. I have only written reviews for extremely bad experiences or extremely good ones. I am happy to say that this is the latter. First of all, it was immediately obvious from my communications with Mike, that he was responsive, friendly and was very courteous. Pride of ownership was evident when we pulled up to the condo and when we entered. Not only was it extremely clean (trust me because we are very neat and clean people), fully equipped and well-organized, everything was clearly labeled and there was a very helpful book with instructions, local menus, etc. The views of the lake were terrific and made for a relaxing feel. The unit is large enough to fit 4 or 5 people comfortably (we had 4; two adults and two children). The tennis court and outdoor heated pool are less than a minute walk; close but far enough to not hear anything. It was a quiet condo complex overall and the folks were friendly; only a couple of miles to Main Street shops and restaurants, 30 minutes to Jay Peak (great indoor water park) and about 30 minutes to Canada... all of which we experienced. We rented a boat right down the street and spent a day boating around the beautiful lake... incredible views. We have been to many places - this was peaceful, lots to do, convenient and comfortable. I also feel that the price/value is extremely fair. Thank you for a great vacation.

Great location/Great Value/Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Listen to the quiet! You will love this very well equipped and comfortable condo right on the lake with unobstructed views of the water. Just bring your toothbrush/shampoo & soap and prepare to relax. And you can travel light and just do laundry every day or two. Bring your hybrid/mountain/road bike and enjoy the back roads with minimal traffic. Dine at Laga Trattoria, Brown Dog Bistro, or Vermont Pie and Pasta; have breakfast at the Brown Cow; enjoy drinks at the Eastside or Le Belvedere. MBR is very comfortable and the shower water is hot and plentiful. Gas fireplace adds a nice touch and provides more than enough heat to take off the chill....never turned on the real heaters. Close enough to Canada to run up to Georgeville for the croissants, have lunch in Magog, and visit the Benedictine Abbey de Saint Benoit du Lac near Austin on the West side of the Lake. And if you want to cook, you'll have everything you need.

Awesome Vacation Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival we found that everything was accurate as far as descriptions and views. The place was clean and everything they listed as far as amenities goes, was there. Don't worry about bringing dishes/pans etc it was all there and then some. Even though there were plenty of people in the other condos, the place was peaceful, no noise, just frogs, birds, a heron and loons. Everything was comfortable and like home. Docking for our boat was near, and the launch was only two streets down making it easy to drop off/pick up! Defintely the place to go if you have a boat. I cannot say enough about the lake, it is just huge and the views are wonderful. While on the lake you can dock at Eastside restaurant and grab a bite to eat. US Customs and the harbor are not far. The pool was clean and heated. The owner was great, answered all my questions, gave me directions to the place as well as the boat launch. My security deposit was returned within days of leaving. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We fell in love with it right away. Although peaceful and secluded you are close to town. Eastside restaurant had a great breakfast buffet on Sunday for only 10.95. Eat there for breakfast! Dinners were good, a little pricey and I don't recommend the fried seafood (except clams) especially if you are used to eating what we do. You also have to try out Hoagie's Pizza. The best around! There was plenty to do being the week of July 4th and the aquafest. You also have to visit the pick and shovel, They sell just about everything and the ice cream stand right there is cheap and great ice cream. When you order a large ice cream be prepared, they are huge. We also took a ride into Canada (Maggog) while there. Lots of stuff to do in town and everyone we spoke to was bi-lingual. Make sure you have your passports! Some people don't realize you need one now to cross the border. According to US Customs manual if you don't get out of the boat and go into port you technically don't have to stop at customs in the US but it is highly recommended that you do. I would definitely go back to this place.
