This home has been in my family since 1885. This house has been passed down thru the generations. I have many fond memories of time spent in this home and in the town of Winter Harbor.
Large yard & field to play games & enjoy the outside, with ocean views from the house and master bedroom. You can walk to everything in the town of Winter Harbor. Acadia National Park-Schoodic close by.
Winter Harbor is a wonderful location to book for a week, and then take day trips from the rental home in any direction. You can walk downtown, to the ocean, and wander through many art galleries. The gallery owners are friendly, knowledgeable and enjoy brilliant gardens. This rental home is a renovated 1800's home, with every ammenity, including lobster pot! We visited the Winter Lobster Coop & bought our own live lobster to cook our dinner. We went the first two weeks of October, and many businesses' were closed for winter, but we didn't care. We were there for the fresh lobster, ocean, beaches, and magnificient fall colors. The home was clean, with many travel books and even directions for how to cook lobster! The only concern one might run into is the steep stairs to the second floor. If you do not manage stairs easily, you might want to sleep on living room hide-a-bed, which is comfortable. Enjoy! You won't regret it!
What a nice place and so relaxing. We enjoyed the short walk to the harbor and the ever present breeze off of the water whenever we stepped out the front door. The house was nicely stocked for our stay, the washer and dryer are a nice bonus. We really enjoyed the proximity to everything but found we liked the quiet life of the Winter Harbor area the most.
The stay at your house was amazing. Loved the view of the harbor first thing in the morning and last thing you see before going in for the night. The experience was fantastic. Plenty of things to do and see to keep us busy all week.
Our stay in Winter Harbor surpassed our expectations. Sharon's home is very cozy and quaint. The location couldn't be better. We loved looking out the living room and master bedroom windows at the harbor.
We are currently thinking about our next visit. Whether you're looking for a chance to photograph beautiful scenery or to just sit on the rocks and listen to the sound of the pounding surf, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Sharon and George!
Our family of four had a wonderful trip to Winter Harbor. The town was super cute and the house was a great fit. Sharon truly knows how to accommodate as well. We had bikes, binoculars, a telescope and tons of tips and guides provided. Also, the beds were so comfortable. Our favorite activities were visiting the Schoodic Point. Kids loved jumping on all the rocks. We enjoyed bike rides daily, especially on Ocean Road and Grindstone Road. We visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia as well. Always a great day. We hiked Schoodic Mtn and swam in Donnell lake afterwards. I also kayaked a number of times right in Winter Harbor. Our trip was concluded by my niece getting married at Frazier Point. Breathtaking and memorable. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing trip and were very pleased with the house. Many thanks Sharon.
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Winter Harbor and had a delightful time. The house was beautiful and well-equipped, stocked with small extras like cooking oil and spices that we forgot we would need. We cooked almost every night, but enjoyed sampling the nearby restaurants such as the Fisherman's Inn which provided wonderful authentic seafood and a consistently welcoming atmosphere.
Sharon and George were very helpful and friendly; they made the process smooth and easy. Thanks!
We would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for a good getaway place that is also within striking distance of Acadia.
Thanks so much!
