Peaceful get away!
Perfect getaway from the tourist traps of the Great Smoky Mountains. Wonderful, cozy, secluded cabin nestled on the side of a mountain at 2,960 ft in elevation. Amazing spring fed brook 50 yards right outside of the front door. The spring fed water running to the cabin is absolutely wonderful, I am not so sure we have ever felt so clean and refreshed after showering. Softest water I think I have ever come across and I have literally traveled the world over.
20 minutes away from Bryson City which has all the creature comforts of city life, grocery, gas etc. 30 minutes from Cherokee which has an outstanding coffee shop called Quallo. 30 minutes to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And 1 hour and 15 minutes from Gatlingburg, which is a good thing!
Recommend a 4x4 or a car with a little muffler clearance. Our Volvo AWD did just fine but the auto traction control did engage about 3 spots climbing the gravel road to the cabin. The grade of the road gets steep and you start out at an elevation of 2,150 ft and proceed to an elevation of 2,960 ft on a windy, twisting gravel road over the course of 1.3 miles. So please plan your first trip during the day. No street lights, markers or guard rails on this path.
The gravel path beyond the cabin leads to approximately 3 more cabins and a great hike to the top of the mountain at 3,490 ft in elevation. This is a hiking path basically beyond the cabin. Taking any vehicle, 4x4 or not beyond the cabin is dangerous, treacherous and you will get stuck. The hike to the top is wonderful and well worth the effort. Take your time and enjoy the wildlife, fauna and sounds of the creek and nature. Recommend you also take a hiking stick or staff which is provided on the front porch of the cabin.
The front porch, heaven, really about all I can say. Bathroom is clean, comfortable and all you need. The loft space is tight, but works. The bunk bed is comfortable and was our spot for the duration.
The air is clean, water is great, sound is all nature, and the nights are immpresivaly cool and the brook will put you to sleep.
Quiet relaxing comfortable cabin.
The cabin was nicely furnished inside with all the necessities plus little things that really made it feel like home. We really enjoyed the firepit and the front porch swing. Thank you for your hospitality!
Our stay at Mount Rush-no-more was simply perfect! The cabin is everything you need, quaint, cozy, and rustic. It's everything you'd wish for in a mountain vacation. As others have mentioned, the road to get there is a little bumpy, but just take it slow. Besides, there's no rush! We loved sitting on the front porch swing listening to the creek. The cabin is so high it feels like you're in a tree house! The sofa and beds were comfy and kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed not having cable, and got to do family game nights every night!
Activities nearby within 30 minutes that we did and highly recommend: tubing and hiking at Deep Creek is a must (only $6 pp), zip lining, white water rafting, walk around/shop in Cherokee, and definitely explore, explore, explore the Smokies (Clingman's Dome is breathtaking)! We built many cherished memories during our short one week vacation that I will hold in my heart forever! Lauren and her family were so wonderful. We had a small accident and they went above and beyond to make sure our vacation didn't skip a beat. Thank you!
You’re so welcome! We are so glad you enjoyed it!
Very relaxing, and away from the hustle and bustle. It was very clean and comfortable. The pictures don’’t do it justice. Owner is very quick to respond also.
Rushing creek and relaxation
Our stay was highlighted by relaxing sounds of the rushing creek, leisurely walks, and peaceful sounds nature. The cabin was great...rustic, clean, comfortable, cozy, lots of neat features...grill, fire pit, great front porch with a swing! Our only concern was the unnerving road to the cabin....4-wheel drive is a must. Specific directions are needed....GPS missed the name of road to turn onto to get to Waterfall Hollow.
Nice quiet location
We enjoyed our stay here. It is in a private location within reasonable distance of various sites and attractions. The owner responded promptly when we made a request mid stay. And the photos are accurate.
