This is a fabulous, newly custom made,renovated apartment on bottom floor of a historic building located west (for the sunset) facing the magnificent calm waters of Carlisle Bay & Bayshore Beach. The apartment is on the only beach on the south coast with West Coast conditions but instead with white powdery sand. With stunning sunset views of sailboats and the deep water harbour, the apartment consists of 2 master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and looks on to a charming garden with flowering hibiscus,orleander,crotons,desert roses,red ginger lily,morning glory and colourful bougainvillea, just to name a few.There are four different kind of palms. The beachfront property has outdoor shower facilities, male & female bathrooms for your convenience and a private bar area suitable for holding events .asked the owner. Off the garden there is also an elevated gazebo looking on to the beach. The apartment is fully equipped for self catering and even has a small library of books.

With stunning sunset views of sailboats and the deep water harbour, the apartment consists of 2 units a bottom apartment with its own outside, Spanish style seating area looking into the charming garden with flowering hibiscus, orleander, crotons, desert roses, red ginger lily, morning glory and colourful bougainvillea, just to name a few.There are also four different kind of palms. Then there is the Penthouse suite which overlooks the garden, white sandy beaches of Carlisle Bay and breathtaking sunsets from your open balcony.The beachfront property has outdoor shower facilities, male & female bathrooms for your convenience and a private bar area suitable for holding events .asked the owner. The apartments are fully equipped for self catering and even have small library of books. A security system is in place. The apartments have 46 inch smart TVs,home theaters for Blue Ray, Wi-fi /Blue tooth access and accommodate 110/220 supply throughout. Next to the property is ample parking . The building is secure and can be accessed from the road site through a enclosed staircase, and there is also your Beach entry from the garden to your private staircase. Christmas at the Brick House

We had a truly fabulous stay at Jens' place. It is situated right on one of the island's best beaches, with the famous turtles just a short snorkel from the shore. Mornings began with a beach walk as the light rose, to the left to see the racehorses swim on Pebbles Beach, to the right to touch the rocks that mark the end of the beach and the beginning of Bridgetown.

We did not hire a car, choosing to walk or to use the ZR vans ($2 Bajan a trip). The location of the Bridgetown markets means you can walk in and out if you're not too loaded down. You can also buy freshly landed fish right outside the garden gate.

Jens is always available if you need anything and provides a whole range of holiday gear to make your stay better – barbeque, beach chairs, umbrellas etc.

We will return. We stayed in the downstairs apartment as the upstairs was not available when we booked (weirdly, both sets of people who were in it when we were there booked after us so I am not sure how that happened). I have my eye on upstairs for the return trip, it has the most astonishing view and is much, much brighter than downstairs. BUT in saying that, downstairs is fab in its on way and you're pretty much right on the beach.

And Christmas there? It is what you make it. To us, it was glorious.

Beautiful Home

Overall, we had a splendid experience in Barbados and our stay at the Beach Brick House. Our arrival was delayed due to weather and the airlines. We arrived one day later than planned. This delay caused several miscommunications. I called the taxi service (arranged by Jens) when our flight was rescheduled and also left a phone message with Stephanie (the house manager), who was to give us our keys and tour. We arrived at the airport in Barbados with no taxi waiting and Stephanie not answering her phone. So, we hired a taxi recommended by the airport and headed for the Beach Brick House. The taxi driver could not find the house and Stephanie was still not answering her phone. We were beginning to think we had been scammed and paid all this money up front! Fortunately, we eventually found the house. The doors were locked at the entry so we went to the back beach area and saw someone peeking out the window. He was unaware of our arrival, but upon showing our emails from Jens, he said he would admit us to our villa and notify Jens and Stephanie. This wonderful person, Michel, turned into a true blessing for our entire family. Upon waking in the morning, there was juice and breakfast on the patio waiting for us. Thank you Michel! Stephanie arrived later in the morning & explained we were given the wrong phone number and that is why she didn't answer. During our stay in Barbados, we spent most of our time relaxing on the beach and swimming with the sea turtles. The pictures shown in the advertisement are very accurate. Very close to the water and the home is stunning. The nicest property on this beach. Michel spent time letting us know the events on the island. We also met a local surfer who took us to another beach for a day. We went to Oestins Friday night fish fry, Saturday night went to Karaoke, also a boat tour (the funnest day), a Safari island tour, & excellent restaurants. A grill is provided by the Brick House. We purchased fish/lobster from a fisherman on the beach outside the house. The Brick House provides lounge chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment at no additional charge. The grocery store is a short bus ride away. There is no need to rent a car. A cleaning lady comes as scheduled. We met Jens toward the end of our stay. He is a pleasant person. This is a wonderful property, beautifully landscaped, clean and impeccably maintained. 5 stars on the property, 4 stars due to wrong phone number for Stephanie/arrival issues.

A real gem of a place

We arrived and were met by Jens who spent some considerable time with us explaining all that we needed to know to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Jens was a really great host who was on hand if you needed advice. A nice touch was the fresh flowers, 3 banks beers and a bottle of wine in the fridge !

One of the most beautiful spots we have ever stayed in whilst in Barbados. We had the ground floor garden apartment where we would sit and enjoy the view over Carlisle bay. We enjoyed the swimming in lovely calm waters and I would snorkel daily. This is where people come to snorkel and 'swim with turtles'. The turtles were a highlight for me.

Facilities for eating etc are only a walk away. Good supermarkets are available in St Lawrence Gap which is a 1 dollar bus ride away. You do not need a car unless you wish to travel the island sightseeing.

Our one week holiday is at an end now. Both my Wife and I wish we had booked another week. We intend to return as soon as possible.

Great experience

We had a wonderful holiday in Barbados this summer, staying in the ground floor apartment of Brick House with our young daughter. The apartment has everything you could need and is very well presented. The terrace is a lovely place to eat, under the bougainvillea, watching the birds come and go (including hummingbirds!). The access to the beach is amazing. I miss it!

Jens was a great and attentive host and we would highly recommend the Brick House as a base for your holiday.

An Absolutely AMAZING Experience

For those of you looking for an amazing apartment in Barbados I highly recommend The Brick House located on the beautiful Carlisle Bay.

The whole property is literally situated right on the beach. You walk through a lovely green garden and yard, open a gate and voilà your feet are on the lovely white sand.

The view is simply to die for. The blue color of the water is simply stunning and when the sun sets it's a great time to take photographs.

Directly in front of the apartment is where the sea turtles come in. Every morning we swam out to greet the turtles and it was truly an amazing experience being so close to them.

Further over to the left are two ship-wrecks which you can also snorkel out to. After you are done swimming there are outdoor facilities to wash the sand and salt water off.

The apartment itself was immaculate and fully equipped. A cleaning lady came over mid-week to give it a clean and provide fresh sheets and towels.

There is a great little Gazebo where you can sit and read while over-looking the beach. There is also a new gas BBQ which we took advantage of cooking fresh seafood which we purchased directly from the fishermen on the beach.

Located about 300 meters down the beach (from the apartment) is the Yacht Club where you can enjoy a lunch buffet which has a beautiful setting and great food.

There is public transport in both directions making it incredibly easy to go into or out of town. If you wish to go into town you can actually just walk along the beach for about 10 minutes and you'll be into the center. If you go out of town the famed Oistins Fish Market is about a 20 minute bus ride.

I could go on and on but I'll just say that I rarely leave comments but felt compelled to this time because it was just such a great experience. You won't be disappointed staying at this place. It's secure, safe and above all else the Landlord was just such a lovely person. He really made our holiday special by going out of his way to help us and offer assistance above and beyond what you would expect.

Perfect Beach Apartment

I will recommend this apartment to all my family and friends. It is an ideal setting with all the facilities from supermarkets to relaxed lunches to high end hotels within walking distance. Jens is a perfect host and manager. helpful and discerning. Will definitely book again if it is available

The house is located on the one mile long beach at Carlisle Bay, considered one of the 10 best beaches in the Caribbean. The property is on the north border of a marine park where there are shipwrecks suitable for snorkeling and scuba diving. Catamaran charters anchor in front of the apartment each day to enable their guests to swim with the turtles in the warm waters of the bay.

You can walk to the capital Bridgetown by road in 15 minutes. You can also walk on the beach to access Bridgetown. Bus stops towards Oistins in the south or Speightstown in the north are very close. Places of interest must include the Museum of Barbados and designated sites, such as The George Washington House, and the Nidhe Israel Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the Americas and a UNESCO protected property within the World Heritage Site of Historic Bridgetown and the Savannah. The Barbados Yacht Club and Cruising Club are a short distance away. Horse racing on the Garrison Savannah is within walking distant. ce. The full range of water sports are available nearby, within a designated area of Carlisle Bay . There are several local eating places with entertainment.
