Carol and family 2008 Vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place. When we first looked at this web page we thought the description was to good to be true. The property was great for kids and the extras they included in the deal made packing for the seven of us a lot lighter. The house is located on a one way street full of locals. The locals are very friendly. The kids played in the bay in the backyard, and loved the huge wagon to take night walks. We will be back next year, and so on. We have rented other houses on Camp Ellis and this is by far the best in the area. The kids had a blast and we were able to relax. A couple stopped by as we were leaving because they too thought it was to good. They were hoping to rent it after seeing it also. There were flyers for local attractions and restaurants also. The kids loved the game room. The rooms were all good size. AC in all the rooms. Very clean!!!!

We look forward to our next year vacation!

Wonderful location and property

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was great, the beach was fantastic and the neighborhood was ideal. The house included just about everything: Sheets, towels, good kitchen utensils, a traditional porch and a winterized porch with a postcard view, a very clean place with ample parking and a large useable yard, also a game room with foosball and air hockey. Not only that they had all the beach toys you could want. Perfect for travelers that don't want to pack a lot. The cottage is situated in a neighborhood with vacationers and year-round residents. Located 1 block from a corner store (which includes a diner and ice cream stand) a quarter mile from a seafood restaurant (take out and sit down- 7.5 out of 10 stars) and a few little artsy shops and kayak rentals all within walking distance. If you are a renter looking for an up all night vacation spot this is probably not the place for you. But if you are looking for a place that quiets down by 10pm this is the place. The beach is great, mile 0 of the 7 mile old orchard beach, you can look it up. The owners were very prompt to respond to my questions and very easy to deal with. I give this place my highest recommendation.

a pleasant sweet cottage house

Excellent communications with owner, a big, simple house that served our needs well. Nicely equipped with everything one could want .A cool back porch we hung out in that looked over the estuary. Beach was a 1 min block away.

Great Maine cottage experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time sharing this cottage amongst the 7 ( 4 sisters in our late 50's, my daughter , son in law and grandaughter. We loved to lounge around in the sunroom or on the front screened porch. My eldest sister who is used to her own space used the bottom game room as her own private studio, she loved to get out early to read in the back and smell the fresh sea air...We loved the view of the water and river which makes this cottage location so special. Also, there is a small beach just down the street which suited us fine. My grandaughter loved getting some very good ice cream just around the corner in the evening. All in all a great vacation in Saco Maine. The cottage has everything one needs. Thanks you Sara for sharing your cottage.

The place is great, close to beach, plenty of room. I would just be carefuly if you rent this home and want to have a little fun you are on lockdown after 10PM, Windows and doors must be closed as this cottage is located in a non rental area, neighbors have to work and complain if you are on porch after 10.

We come to Camp Ellis every year, the entire family which we usually have around 5 cottages rented, and they frown on visitors stopping by.

Also, I would be cautious to your security deposit, take pictures of everything that they could try to charge you on. Twice we rented and both times they refused to send us our security deposit and we left the place as clean as it was when we left.

Owner's Response: It is always best for renters to match their intended activities with the atmosphere of the vacation areas they are considering for rental. By doing this, renters can ensure that they have the best vacation possible while allowing homeowners the ability to safeguard their property and the reputation of their community. In the rare instance that vacationers are requested not to return to a property, the homeowner should have peace of mind that this request would be honored, rather than to have the property rented under another name. As noted, our home is a really great place. Ultimately, we are honored that families and friends enjoy returning year after year, creating cherished and lasting memories in our scenic, family oriented neighborhood.

Best Vacation Ever

This is such a wonderful place for a family vacation! The area is FABULOUS with all kinds of fun activities, great restaurants, and a beautiful beach located at the tip of your fingers. Camp Ellis is a wonderful little community where we met several new friends during our stay. Everyone was so personable and friendly!! We couldn't have asked for better weather either....sunny and breezy every day. The cottage is spacious and has every amenity needed. If you are looking for a place to make lifelong memories with your loved ones....this is the place to be! I feel so lucky that I found this place! The owners are fabulous and were always available for any questions. Can't say enough great things about this wonderful cottage and its location!!

Nearest Airport
15 Miles
Portland International Jetport (PWM)

Camp Ellis is a beautiful, quaint coastal village in Saco with its own restaurants, lobster pounds, general store, deep sea fishing and whale watching excursions, kayak rental, and local artisans. Russell Cove Cottage sits on the harbor with glorious views of the cove and its resident lobster boats. In the morning, enjoy your coffee in the sunroom over-looking the passing sailboats, and in the evening visit outside around the fire pit before retiring to the heated comfort of the cottage. During the day, take a walk around the village, out onto the granite jetty, to the docks and along the beach.

Day trips are great opportunities for sight seeing and shopping expeditions. South to Kittery or North to Freeport for outlet shopping at its finest. Portland is a 'can't miss' with it's historic Old Port and working waterfront. You can window shop all day long and then dine onboard a floating restaurant.

Beautiful, calm and friendly - Camp Ellis awaits your visit - don't miss out!
