Jane at Redbird purchased this cottage in 2005

This is an adorable cottage. My family of 6 were very confortable. We rode to the beach and hung out inside during the rainy days and we weren't cramped for space. Top 3 Things: Location & good rates, amenities, and privacy. Don't miss: Sunset on Lake Michigan.

Everything described about the Redbird cottage was spot on! We arrived to find a property that overall, was very clean, and inviting. As my caption states, we chose the Redbird to enjoy the start of the Fall season in Muskegon. The cottage was perfect for our family of three.
From this location, we were able to travel to some of the areas wine tasting vineyards, and places to eat. We enjoyed watching the Michigan vs. Michigan State football game on the 55" flat screen television! After the game, we were able to go outside to enjoy the fire pit.
Jane provided great communication before, during, and after our visit. I would, and already have, recommended this property to some of our friends, and co-workers.
We look forward to a possible visit in warmer months, so as to enjoy the lakes, and other warm weather activities.
Lovely, very clean home. Very comfortable beds (including pull-out couch). Jane was so helpful and made our quick get-away very easy.
The house and the prep that Jane and her family puts into ensuring you have a great stay was amazing, point blank. It was so easy to find, access and call our home base for a week. My only complaint is that there was a lack of really good food options (to eat in or takeaway) in the immediate area.
We would recommend the home to anyone. We had a great stay and enjoyed relaxing with some morning coffee in the front porch and evenings with a beer and smores by the fire pit. We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the extremely beautiful sunsets from the Lake Michigan beach. Great food and atmosphere minutes away at The Deck (beach scene) and Dockers (boat marina). I recommend an afternoon fishing charter on Lake Michigan and extend it an hour to see the sunset while on the lake. Captain Tom and crew (Reel Action fishing charters) made our experience special as we caught large trout and salmon. The only issue I had with the house was that there was no kayaks available for use as advertised. Jane provided the background on the reason why but others may consider the home because of the kayaks like we did. We wound up renting kayaks for several days from Beachside Kayak. What a great local business run by Jo. She was really nice and flexible around what worked for us. Her prices were very fair as well. I would recommend the home to anyone. We had a great stay and enjoyed relaxing with some morning coffee in the front porch and evenings with a beer and smires by the fire pit.
The cottage was so much more beautiful
Than pictures show . Every little detail was lovingly thought out with pride from owner Jane and Della her assistant . The location is is perfect for both Lake Muskegon , Lake Michigan . Pere Marquette is something you don't want to miss , especially enjoying the sunset . We enjoyed the back yard bbq, fire pit , lounge chairs , the front porch .... Everything !!!!! The reason for our trip was bittersweet , this cottage made it perfect . We definitely plan to come back
We loved staying here, especially my son. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We ended up having two large dinner parties here with my in town family and visiting family because the space was so accommodating. Even my mother who is in a wheel chair was able to come in through the back door and use the main floor bathroom. Many family members and friends complimented the house and stated I should pick the house when I come to visit again.
