About Janice Robinson

Janice was born and raised in the Berkshires. The home was purchased in 2001 so that she could go back home to visit from her life in Florida She is a busy Real Estate Broker in (Lee and Collier Counties) Naples, FL and cannot make it back as much as she'd like, so she is SHARING the house with all of YOU!!

Janice Robinson purchased this house in 2001

Why Janice Robinson chose Berkshires

Janice likes the quietude of the country. This 8.5 acres backs up to more forest and not far up the road is the Cleveland Reservoir (State Property) The location of the property is such that you feel like you are in the middle of no where but its all straight down the hill 5 miles away!!

THE PROPERTY IS UNIQUE ONE OF A KIND AND BY NO MEANS RUN OF THE MILL

(That is what drew me to it immediatley!! As a 30 year REALTOR I have seen it ALL!!)

What makes this house unique

The real benefit to those folks who will be traveling to Tanglewood or South County allot is the lack of traffic in Dalton!!!!

In addition, I have a secret back way to Tanglewoood that ONLY us locals know. It lands you right smack at the parking and NO TRAFFIC!!!( I mean ZERO)

Clean and serene

  • 4 of 5

We spent a pleasant week at this house in August 2017. The house was exactly as presented on the website, and Janice was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The house was very clean - it is obvious that the cleaning crew comes through and does a thorough job every week - the kitchen is well-stocked with the necessary cooking gear and all of the appliances work. The weather did get hot while we were there, but the house was easy enough to cool down with the cross-breezes on the first floor from opening doors/windows, and at night using the room fans or window a/c units in the bedrooms. The house is private but not isolated. The location is very quiet and rural, but yet is convenient to shopping in case you forgot to pack anything - WalMart, Target, Starbucks and a large grocery store are all just a 10-15 minute drive (but you would never guess it while at the house). The location is convenient for exploring all over the Berkshires. The property is scenic and very wooded, and I imagine that it must be spectacular in the fall when the leaves turn color. Two things we did not like: first, there was a list of daily chores to go with the pool - it kind of detracted from our vacation feeling! I've never rented a house with a pool before, so I don't know if that is standard. Second, while the pool area would be nice to sit out in, there were no chairs that were always out - although not as nice as the stored chairs, a few of the plastic Adirondack chairs from Home Depot would have made it a perfect place to just decide to sit at on the spur of the moment. The pool chores and lack of outdoor seating is the reason I just don't think we could give it the full 5 stars. We had tweens in our group and they liked this house, but I personally would not recommend staying with younger children because: there are some lovely but easily breakable items throughout the house, the wood stairs are a little steep (it is a historic reproduction), there is no barrier between the house and the pool (other than the sliding doors) and the furniture in the beautiful sunroom is white. As long as you don't bring rambunctious children with you, then this house is a lovely and serene place to spend time watching nature and enjoying the Berkshires.

Best vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were so happy to arrive and find this lovely home exactly as shown: clean, stocked, lovely inside and outside. The house is very spacious with lots of areas affording everyone space and privacy as needed. The location was great offering both privacy and seclusion while at the same time near enough to anything we wished to do. We found shopping, boating, horses, lots of activities and loved the area. The pool was great, just loved it any time or day or night. Janice was a pleasure to deal with, very professional, responsive and accommodating. I've been using vacation rentals for years all over the country, rarely returning to the same place more than once for the sake of fun and new experiences, however this rental has stolen my heart and we will absolutely be returning again. Thank you Janice and good luck everyone.

Spacious & Quiet Berkshire Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a delightful weekend my family and I just spent in the Berkshires at this lovely home. Janice was a great owner, very prompt in communication and concerned that everything was tip top once we arrived.

Four adults and one 11 year old enjoyed the spaciousness of the home. We were never on top of each other. During an unusually hot weekend, the pool was inviting and refreshing and was an especially big hit with the kid. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. We ate most meals at home. The location is far enough removed to feel like you have really gotten away but still close enough to area attractions to make it a great destination. We did see the wild turkeys that live on the property, and hummingbirds once we filled the feeder. Would consider staying here again in the future.

Great home, wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

Great spaceous home, decorated as a historical home but with all modern comforts and appliances. Lovely sunroom. Nice little pool, perfect for with kids. Janice, the owner, is extremely friendly and ready to help with any question. We were not so lucky with the weather but had lots of fun in the aerial park at Ramblewild, biking the beautiful Ashuwillticook Rail Trail and seeing 4 beavers busy at dusk at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary! Beautiful Lenox/Lee/Stockbridge are only 30 min away. Amazing shops and restaurants like Guido's and Mazzeo's in Pittsfield are even closer.

Lovely home,enchanting property,wonderful service

  • 5 of 5

Vacationers, you have hit upon a real gem. This home is tucked away on a beautiful, serene property and has that "get-away-from-it-all" feel to it, but yet is close enough to amenities, and various outdoor recreational activities.

The home is lovely inside and out, and has a historic feel to it, but with all contemporary conveniences. It is well maintained but all with a homey feel.

Personally, I have to put an extra word in for the sun room -- I had to be dragged out of there. The room, and the property in general is a perfect spot for writers or artists of any sorts.

As we visited the property in the summer, we were able to enjoy the inviting pool, which is also kept in impeccable condition.

And it was a pleasure to interact with the owner! Janice is responsible, and so helpful and cordial.

Enjoy your vacation!
