Clean, bright, well kept studio with ceramic tile entry/bath/kitchen floors, new bath vanity, very large closet and mirrored doors. All bed and bath linen (including extras!), beach towels, beach mats, beach chairs. Iron and ironing board too.
Coin operated laundry on premises. First come - first serve parking (I have a reserved stall for an additional fee also). Floor to ceiling sliding glass door opens to a standing room lanai. Look to the left and peek at the ocean.
Secure building with computer controlled entry and elevator operation to your floor, the basement and lobby only. Friendly building with many long term residents and annual returnees.
This is where my Mom stays when she comes on vacation!

I love Waikiki. Plumeria is located in Tradewinds Plaza at the DiamondHead end of Waikiki. A great location 50 yards to the beach, the Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani park.
I like this building and am on the Board of Directors. Although we do not have amenities like a pool and spa, we are close to the beach with first come-first serve parking. The building is secure and the on-site building manager (Joe & Mary) keep the building spotless. There are simple, thoughtful extras like a foot bath, book lending library and recycling area.
The pillow cover smelled like used as if someone went to bed after shampoo. He charged extra cleaning fee for normal use of the room saying it was heavily dirty. We were there only to shower and sleep and were out for sightseeing most of the time.

This is a great place in terms of convenience for everything is so accessible from the apt (Teddy's Burgers is just round the corner, as is the ABC store), and yet, it is fairly quiet as it is on a side street. Really appreciate that in Waikiki. I also felt safe.
The place is clean and cosy, albeit old. If you want to cook, all the appliances you need are there, except counter space is limited.
Neil is super responsive. My TV was not working when I arrived. I let him know late afternoon. By the time I cam back from my evening walk, he had replaced it with a working one.
I will definitely stay here again and I have recommended it to my friends.
We enjoyed 6 weeks at the Tradewinds Plaza and found the accommodations very clean and comfortable. Close to the beach at the quiet Diamond Head end of Waikiki, this location is very convenient for all the activities we were seeking. All modes of transportation are just a short walk away. The apartment had most appliances that made preparing meals a breeze. We definitely recommend this rental to couples looking for that Hawaiian getaway.
We stayed in the plumeria room for 2 weeks this september, and it was a pleasant experience. The room was tidy, full of anything we may need (even a pair of swim trunks and snorkel gear)! Niel has to be the most patient person I have met, he was very understading and accomodating to us. The building is literally a block from Waikiki beach, the zoo, and a number of bus stops. Even the local Safeway is within walking distance! We had free wifi, cable tv, a full-sized fridge, coffee maker (with travel mugs), extra towels, beach mats, a clean and comfortable bed, air conditioning, and a private gate entrance for added security. The only drawback is that the building is located between a couple of hostels (it was still very quiet, but there was a bit of traffic. Less than on a main street, but still a bit). I would stay here again, it is definately a bargain. The room itself felt like home, very comfy and cozy, and the price was a great bonus!
I've stayed at 2 of the properties Neil Bates offers in Hawaii. Both absolutely outstanding. I've stayed at many properties in Hawaii and lived, traveled around the Caribbean. Plumeria is tops in value for the money. It is sparkling clean, provides more amenities than I could imagine needing. On long stays gives you a place to call home all the while being close to beach, Diamond Head, gym, car rentals, park, zoo, great eateries and spots to grab a drink. Loads of nice people in the building and area which is very safe. Neil is attentive to any queries and settings up the stay from a distance away is simple.
I should not be so nice in recommending as I intend to be back over and over again and hope to be able to find a vacancy!!! I can't imagine even looking at alternatives from my Waikiki stays.
