About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + double futon in living room, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

You'll love spending a week or two in this secluded summer cottage located on the east side of Seneca Lake. The deep 328 foot lot provides a very private setting, in addition to having a large area for parking or play. With the tall trees lining the south property, and the creek running along the north side, you'll discover peace and serenity!

Drive right up to the front door for easy unloading and loading. There are no steps to the cottage or to the beach area! Little tots love the 55 foot beach area and the ability to wade in shallow water, while 'bigger kids' can use the dock and swim ladder to access. The dock, features a 12 by 12 foot deck (complete with electricity, bench/table and lounge chairs).

Inside, you'll find a full kitchen with refrigerator (plus one compact refrigerator), stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all utensils. All dishes are provided. The open area offers a great view from the kitchen or living room, where you can cuddle up with a great book, watch a dvd, or sit in front of the vintage fireplace - yes, even in summer!

There is one bathroom with shower; and water supply is city, including sewer.

The bedroom area features two bunk beds (sleeps four), another great place to curl up and read, nap, or engage in late night conversations with bunk mates! There is a double futon in the living room.

Watch the incredible sunsets from the enclosed front porch while lounging in one of the Adirondack chairs or enjoying dinner at the extended picnic table. Soon enough, it will be time to fire up the beach pit for toasting marshmallows and hot dogs.

A late night stroll along the property will top off your day! Enjoy the moonlight and stars, chirping crickets, and fresh night air that will remind you of the Adirondacks.

There is a two-person kayak for your use, but larger seagoing vessels and jet skis are available through one of three marinas located within a few miles, where boat and equipment rentals are affordable.

If you are trailering a boat, it can be launched at Sampson State Park, about 3 miles south (cannot launch from this property). Any water vessel will have to be trailered at the end of each use; any such vessel cannot be moored overnight at owner's dock.

There is one convenience store are within four miles. The cottage is just ten miles south of Geneva, where you can enjoy summer lakeside concerts, great shopping and dining, and many local wineries, including Ventosa Vineyards (five miles north). You'll also find gyms, health and beauty spas, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, golf courses, Rose Hill Mansion, miniature golf, movie theaters, museums, Montezuma Wildlife Preserve.

To the east (four miles) is historic Waterloo - birthplace of Memorial Day - and Seneca Falls, home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and today's Women's Rights Hall of Fame.

Just 20 miles to the west is beautiful Canandaigua, home of the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center, Sonnenberg Gardens, numerous shopping opportunities, great dining, and the Canandiagua Lady - the boat tour that will take you by Danny Wegman's home and Tom Golisano's summer place!

For more adventurous folk, you'll be within 10 miles from two Thruway Exits (Waterloo and Geneva) and less than 50 minutes from Syracuse or Rochester where your sightseeing possibilities are endless!

No matter how you spend your days, you will end your week rested and peace-filled!

Great vacation hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottage for the last week of June and had a great experience.

The owners are a wonderful, friendly couple who took their time to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was a perfect retreat – the location is a plus. It's secluded enough yet minutes away from every amenity. The outlet is only 20min away, which I took full advantage of!

We really loved the closed in veranda. It was actually a big selling point in our decision to stay here. Being allergic to mosquitoes, I was able to really enjoy 'being outdoors' without always having to douse myself in repellant. We had pretty much every meal there as well, enjoying the view of the lake or the sunset.

The cottage is cozy and very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a bbq for use as well. The dock and the firepit were also a big plus. The end of the dock is perfect for enjoying the sunshine and we made good use of the firepit nightly.

There is a kayak the owners offer for use with lifejackets. We had a great afternoon exploring the lake on it.

All in all, the week went by much too quickly for my liking. We had an amazing, relaxing time and will be keeping this page bookmarked for another week away in the future.

Pictures don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I recently spent a week here and it was the best vacation we've ever had! The cottage itself was delightful, super cozy, clean and comfortable. With so much to do in the surrounding areas, I wish we had more time to spend relaxing at the cottage! The owners were so lovely and answered all of my questions, and there were many! Our favourite part was eating dinner in the screened in porch while watching the sun set on the lake. I would return to rent this cottage and would highly recommend it to friends and family!

Wonderful Vacation Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time over the 4th of July holiday week at the cottage. We were very excited when we first walked into the cottage becasue the pictures posted do not do it justice. There is a brand new grill for BBQ, which we used every night. The screened in porch is great for those nights that were a bit on the warm side. The dock is was perfect for laying out in the sun as well as cocktails in the evening. There is so much to do in the area... we rented a boat, went to some wineries and went to the park. It was a wonderful vacation. The owners were very nice and set us up with everything we needed.

Beautiful Cottage on the Lake!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented this cottage for a week and it was everything we hoped and desired! The cottage is immaculate and set right on the beach. We enjoyed fishing, late night campfires and even a shopping trip to the local Waterloo outlets. The owner's are very great people to deal with and we are looking forward to renting again next summer!!!
