Guestbook comments from the owner

We "rocked the foundation" with our laughter! Thank you for providing wonderful accomodations for our 30th reunion. All of us ladies had a fabulous time. You were a great "judge" of our art projects Jeff, and so impartial too! We hope to return one day.

P.S. The two dishwashers were wonderful idea.

Big group, worked out well

  • 5 of 5

We had 20 people (including one baby and one teenager), and I had concerns whether the place would be big enough. The owner allowed us to pitch a tent outside, but it turned out not to be necessary. There were plenty of fold-out beds and three large family-sized rooms that could serve as bedrooms (as well as huge walk-in closets that could fit mattresses,... but we didn't need them). Moving one table from one of the rooms allowed us to create an eating space that fit us all comfortably. The baby ate in a baby chair which the owner dug up somewhere -- highly appreciated!

The beach is very long (I did not discover where it ends). There are two access routes: one close and somewhat challenging and the other a short walk away and relatively easy but still not accessible to those with difficulties with stairs. One of us is wheelchair-bound. She was able to visit the house but not stay there. Another of us (95 years old) had no problems with the house, though she didn't make it to the beach. Easy parking for four cars, and six or seven cars are quite possible.

Interactions with the owner were all pleasant and productive.

Very nice property with a great view and access to the beach

  • 5 of 5

The home was in good shape and was very clean. The two dishwashers, two refrigerators and two coffee makers made it nice for our large family reunion. The driveway was steep but parking worked out OK for about 8 vehicles at a time. A couple more would fit if you pack them in. If we plan a reunion in the area again, we will consider this house again.

A Perfect Fit

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a pleasant house in an attractive setting which would accommodate the reunion of our immediate family, three families with their seven children, and Great Aunt, and the two of us, Grandma and Granddad, and indeed, the VRBO pictures represent the house well. We came from three of the four corners of the U.S. All sixteen of us could share the large living areas without feeling crowded, the three of us over seventy, our three daughters and their husbands, the seven cousins (ranging in age from 8 to 23) could retire in the evening to the privacy of their own bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was well furnished and suited for preparing food (double oven, crock pot, blender, griddle, food processer, grill, fire pit) and cleaning up afterwards- with two dishwashers! The home is located in a tiny community of people at the end of a road, a lane and a half wide, a couple of miles off a state highway for a total of seven miles from I-5. However, it is here that a modern shopping center is located, convenient enough for restocking supplies. For those who would enjoy a measure of solitude, this house is all the more suitable for renewing family life and bringing people together, especially for us, thus creating chance to become acquainted with one another. There are two entries to the pebble beach, one demanding, the other, four blocks from the house, easy. Bring binoculars in case you want a close-up of a sea otter (or orca should one show up). Eagles abound . Also, we used the house as a jumping off point for sight-seeing in Everett (Boeing) and the Seattle area as well as a day and a half venture into Victoria, B.C. (foreign travel for the youngsters!). Finally, Donna and Jeff were responsive hosts, and although we were unable to meet with them, they saw to it that we were well-satisfied.

Home away from home for son's wedding.

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful property to gather our immediate family for our son's wedding in the area. We were 8 adults and 4 grandchildren and even had room for an Uncle and Aunt on the wedding night to save them a long, late drive home!

The location was super for a bit of family exploring on Whidbey and Camano Islands. It was great to be able to take the grandchildren to the beach right below the house!! They also enjoyed the hot tub immensely. My daughter could not get over the view from the kitchen window. It would be amazing to wash dishes there, if there wasn't a dishwasher! My husband and I loved the sound of the water through the open bedroom window at night. So peaceful.

We did the rehearsal dinner there and it was so nice to have several places to sit at a table and eat: 2 inside and 2 outside. The wedding party seemed reluctant to leave, especially the ones enjoying their conversations around the fire pit on a pleasant night. There isn't much parking so we did a bit of a shuttle service with a rental van. It worked well for that as well as the family adventures.

The owner was very available by e-mail and we even got to meet Jeff while we were there. Thanks for sharing your lovely home so we could make some unforgettable family memories.

PERFECT.. NO WORRIES IN BOOKING THIS

  • 5 of 5

We rented the two property's together and had 17 people in each. The houses were beautiful, the settings were to die for and the space that was in each house was more than needed (if you want more bathroom space and kitchen area one with 4.5 baths is the one for you). The kitchens were stocked with everything needed and enough room and place settings for both homes to be able to come together to eat meals together. The homes are very close to each other for going between. Only thing that may be of concern is there are lots of stairs. We wish we had booked this for a few more days. The owners were super easy to work with and clean up was a breeze.

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great celebration of my mother's 90th birthday at this home. There are so many spaces for people to gather and our only problem was that we'd occasionally lose someone and find them curled up on one of the cozy couches reading a book. It's a great place for a crowd, especially if you have a wide age group. The kids loved watching movies in the downstairs FR, while the adults tended to hang out in the expansive kitchen area or out on the deck. We even saw a gray whale one morning! Cooking was super easy with 2 dishwashers, 2 ovens and 2 refrigerators and we had no problem finding space for everyone to sit down and eat. I guess if we had any complaints (and these are minor) it would be the poor wifi connection and the low flame in the fireplaces. Everything else was great, including nice bedding and linens on all the beds! We'd love to do this again...thank you Jeff and Donna!
