Stunning views of the Smoky Mountains are showcased from almost every space in this gorgeous 14 bedroom large group cabin! Fit for a large group getaway, Plimpton Lodge has 14 bedrooms, 12 ½ bathrooms, and room to sleep up to 44 guests. The 9,000-square-foot lodge has four king size beds, six queen size beds, four full size beds, and eight bunk beds, so everyone can enjoy restful and comfortable nights. There are also plenty of great shared spaces where guests can spend quality group time.

The first floor of Plimpton Lodge houses the fully-equipped kitchen, a living area, a half bathroom off the kitchen, and four bedrooms (each with their own private bath). With double appliances – two stoves, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and two sinks – this large group cabin's kitchen is fit for feeding lots of hungry mouths. There is also enough seating in the dining area for everyone to enjoy group meals with the backdrop of the scenic Smoky Mountains. The living area just off the kitchen features a gorgeous stone (gas) fireplace and comfortable seating with a view.

More relaxation and entertainment can be found in the den on the second level where guests can kick back in the leather sofas in front of the big screen TV. Five of the bedrooms are also located here – one with a king size log bed, pillow top mattress, and private bathroom, and one with two double log beds and a private bathroom. The other two bedrooms are joined by a bathroom and offer a king size bed and four log bunk beds.

Five bedrooms and four bathrooms are located on the third floor, along with a game room that will please both kids and adults! Offering hours of entertainment, the game room in Plimpton Lodge boasts a full size pool table, foosball table, shuffleboard table, and an air hockey table.

Outside, two large decks showcase the fantastic views of the Smokies and Mt.LeConte. The decks house rocking chairs, a hot tub for eight, and two charcoal grills! The large parking area also has room for up to 15 cars or a 30-foot bus.

great cabin

  • 4 of 5

Great place to for a large gathering. Very well equipped and fully functional. Enjoyed the fact that each room had its on unit air condition. The hot water was consistently hot during shower time considering a large group. Cons...small cosmetic things that need attention.... like floor tiles.....and a few bugs in some of the rooms. Other than that its a great cabin with a wonderful view.

Church Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a class retreat at the Plimpton lodge. There were 20 people (10 couples) there. We had a great time. The lodge is first class with everything you need. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. We ate most of our meals in with every one bringing food to contribute. It was a great time of food, fellowship and relaxation. We plan to do it again soon.

Dangerous Driveway

  • 4 of 5

A beautiful place for our family reunion. We had 30 people and there was room for everyone. The biggest problem was the driveway. 30 degree slant. Had rain every day that we were there and cars could not get up the hill. One car got stuck and had to call AAA to get a tow. Would be the most perfect place if it wasn't the driveway.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay in Plimpton Lodge. This cabin is very high on a mountain and the driveway is very steep, but we feel the cabin and its views are worth the drive up. We do have many other large group cabins that are located down the mountain. Next time you book with us please let one of our reservation specialists know you would prefer a cabin without the steep drive.

Tubing with the tots

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a President's Day weekend with family and friends at this cabin with AMAZING views (just make sure you are ready for the driveway!) We had about 30 people total counting kids and still didn't use all of the rooms! The living room has an open ceiling from the first floor to the third, which allowed us to spread out yet feel like we were all still hanging out together. Took the kids tubing at Ober one day, kind of expensive but worth it to see their faces! Amazing that we've been to Gburg so many times but never made it up to Ober, then again the skiing is sub-par at best--we prefer to enjoy the time relaxing in a cabin!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review Plimpton Lodge. There is definitely room for everyone in this spacious cabin. The drive up to the cabin is a bit steep, but the cabin and its views are very worth it. We appreciate the kind words, and we look forward to doing business with you again in the future.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed in this lodge on 12-9-10 thru 12-11-10. We had 16 adults and 16 children. Our family had been thru a very hard year and wanted to spend some time together as our Christmas get together. When we arrived at the lodge everyone was very happy it was wonderful. There was so much room we could sprawl out. The kids were so busy with all there was to do we didn't even know they were around. The owners had even decorated for Christmas, even had a tree up. The place was very clean and in good repair except for the ice maker. I would recommend this home to any large group and will prob stay there again, it is very close to everything you could want to do, and by the way there is even a worderful Hospital close which I found out as I broke my foot while playing a game. We had a great time even with my broken foot.
