At the end of a long winding drive this stunning post modern home is located in the Northwest Woods and is a short walk/bike ride to the surrounding bay beaches and Cedar Point Park. The house is situated on one and a half private and wooded acres backed by a 20 acre preserve. The interior is beautifully decorated but at the same time is very relaxed and comfortable. The living room has a double height ceiling with towering windows that make the entire house light and bright.
The large eat in kitchen seats six and comes fully equipped with stainless steel appliances. It flows effortlessly into the open living area and through french doors to the formal dining room. There are two large master bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms. The upstairs master has a king size bed with wrought iron head board, large walk in closet and double sink bathroom with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. The downstairs master has a queen bed with full bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms upstairs with queen and full beds that share a full bathroom.
Outside a large cedar deck overlooks the 20 by 40 heated pool (with or without child safety fence), which is accessed through sliding doors off either the living room or den. The professionally landscaped gardens and lawn are colorful, lush and the backyard is completely fenced. The surrounding woods are filled with oak, white pine, cedar and wild dogwood. It is not uncommon to catch a glimpse of exciting wildlife such as red fox, wild turkey, deer, owls, hawks and pheasant.
The location of the house is ideal for taking advantage of all the recreational activities the Hamptons have to offer. The lovely bay beaches are within walking/biking distance as are the numerous hiking and jogging trails. East Hampton, Sag Harbor and the beautiful ocean beaches are only a 10-15 minute car ride away. Each town has it's own unique charm and apppeal, offering an exciting array of shops, restaurants, museums and historical sites.
My wife Julie and I started renting out on the East End in the late 1990's when we were living together in New York City. We fell in love with the area and after looking at many properties decided to buy this newly constructed house which had everything we wished for in a Hampton's vacation home.
We currently live in Montclair, New Jersey with our two children and try to spend time together out at the house whenever possible.
The Owner purchased this house in 1999
The house is as beautiful as it looks!
Very private ... The pool was amazing!! Would reccomend it to a friend and would definitely go back.
We could not have been more pleased with this lovely home. It is bright, clean, airy, well-appointed and ideally suited to a multigenerational family visit. The layout was perfect: main floor and upstairs masters, plus 2 additional bedrooms with shared bath upstairs (for adult children and and a 10-month old). The availability of a crib and high chair reduced the stress of bringing baby equipment and the gate at the top of the stairs was a happy surprise. The pool was lovely and safely gated, the BBQ conveniently located, and the living room and kitchen easily accommodated our party of 8. On top of all that, the owners could not have been more responsive and helpful. We look forward to a future visit when it's warm and sunny enough to use the large, beautiful pool!
The photos of this house do not do it justice! It is a lovely, spacious, modern and bright family home. We went for a week in the early spring with our mother and our two children, aged 5 and 2. The downstairs bedroom is perfect for in-laws and the upstairs has a perfect layout for parents (huge master with modern bathroom) and children. They have every amenity for young children (crib, bed rails, stair guard etc). The kitchen and breakfast area are lovely and bright, as is the living room, family room (plenty of movies and toys / games for kids) and the upstairs deck / seating area is perfect for reading. Furnishings are lovely, new and comfortable. We thought the house was much better than other rentals we'd stayed in the area, and great value for money. It is a great area, lovely walks in the evening and an excellent trail / hike nearby (follow it all the way to the cliff for amazing coastal views). Convenient to both East Hampton and Sag Harbor. John is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us!
We had experienced the loss of a loved one and wanted to spend time together as a family. Our group of 9 ranged in age from 4 to 85. The house was perfectly suited for all of us and gave us plenty of room to spread out. The pictures don't really do it justice - it is even more lovely than it appears. It was beautifully maintained, and the owner gave us all the information we needed. So happy that we chose it. Thanks John for renting it.
We rented this home for our 40th anniversary week. It's a lovely place, squeaky-clean, nicely appointed, and a delight to be in. It has an open floor plan, is spacious, and comfortable. Quite secluded, which we enjoyed. The yard is beautifully maintained, as is the pool, and the pool heater works very well. Lots of toys - including a trike - for the kids/grandkids. The owners are very quick to answer any and all inquiries. All in all, it nicely fulfilled all our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend.
Swimming, hiking, biking, surfing, fishing, kayaking, golf, tennis, wine tasting, sightseeing and shopping. A countless number of great places to eat.
Many interesting and fun things to see and do, including a drive to Montauk Point or an outing to the spectacular wineries of the North fork and surrounding region.
