About Ken, Jeremy
Jeremy's family vacationed at this property two consecutive years and fell in love with it. The entire family enjoyed excellent fishing right from the enormous dock, catching mangrove snapper, sea trout, shark, stingray, etc. The family also enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife, especially from the vantage point of the main level deck. Entire days were spent hunting the perfect photo of the marine life- bonnet head shark, sea turtles, schools of snook, pods of dolphin and even a family of manatee in the north channel. When not fishing, the children enjoyed the ground level game room complete with billiards, ping pong and even a full-sized arcade game (Galaga, Ms PacMan, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong). In August 2017, Jeremy was blessed with the opportunity to share this beautiful property with a long-time family friend, Ken. Ken has always loved being around water and has spent many vacations at the beach. Like Jeremy and his family, Ken fell in love with this property. So, it was no surprise that, when given the opportunity to purchase this unique house on such a rare piece of land, Ken and Jeremy jumped at the chance. We hope that you and your family might enjoy this property as much as we have. There really is nothing quite like the peace and serenity of this unique waterfront home. You are literally surrounded by the beauty of the Gulf. Enjoy!
Ken, Jeremy purchased this House in 2017
Why Ken, Jeremy chose Spring Hill
The views of the Gulf, and the abundant wildlife it has to offer, are simply stunning. On any of the back decks or fishing dock, you are surrounded by the crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico. Everyday is an opportunity to watch the dolphin play or feed on the schools of fish that flow in and out of the area. The birdlife is abundant as well. Vacationing on this property feels like time spent in a nature preserve. Though only minutes from groceries and shopping, the property feels like it is completely isolated. Aripeka has the charm of "Old Florida" and is not built up like other, more touristy areas. Yet, it is only a 5-15 minute drive to Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. It is also very close to Hernando Beach (5 minutes) and Homosassa Springs (30 minutes), both of which offer numerous excellent dining options. Homosassa Springs is home to some exceptional Scalloping from July through September. There are 3 golf courses within a 15 minute drive as well. Day trips to Crystal River (35 minutes north), the historic Greek sponging/ fishing village of Tarpon Springs (45 minutes straight down Route 19) or to the beaches of the Tampa/ St Pete area (~60 minutes) are readily accessible. Monthly rental discounts are available.
What makes this House unique
It truly feels like a nature preserve, a hidden gem tucked away in "Old Florida" just minutes off Route 19. The house not only has incredible views of of the Gulf, but abundant fishing and wildlife viewing. Vacationing here, you may never want to leave. We didn't... so we bought it. Now we would like to share its unique beauty and serenity with you.

My husband, brother and I spent just over a week at this property. The first night we had Manatees right off the dock. Amazing! Every day we saw dolphins and all kinds of water birds. The house was super clean and beds were comfortable. It was like a little oasis but close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Once you were back at the house you felt like you were on an island it is so private. The pool table afforded many evening hours of entertainment. I highly recommend this property. Thanks to Ken and Jeremy for sharing their house and also thanks to Ray for fishing tips and answering any questions we had. Great trip!!
This is our second stay at this beautiful house. Surrounded by water on 3 sides, the location could not be more stunning. If you like to watch dolphins, manatees , shorebirds of every variety, and spectacular sunsets, this is the place for you. Kayak from the on-site dock and get close to the action. A wonderful place, we hope to come back.
This is the most beautiful property. The inside is just as advertised. Everything was so clean and fresh. We loved it. The view is fantastic and we saw dolphin's several times a day. I would love to book it again and if possible I will. We traveled with our grown children and their husband and wife. We all felt the same way. Love, love, love this place. Can't say enough good things about it.
September 2019 Fishing Trip
We traveled to Florida in September to do some fishing and get some relaxing time. We found both at this property. The home was nice and spacious. The game room was fun. We had some good ping pong battles. We caught a bunch of fish from the dock. Mainly catfish but some small sheephead as well. We went out charter fishing with Capt. Josh and had some good fishing. We caught shark, redfish, sea trout, mackerel, and some gag grouper. Two days later we went out fishing with Capt Josh's brother. We had another good day fishing till the wind got out of hand. In all we had a great relaxing stay, with lots of fishing and fun. I would recommend this house to anyone who really wants to get some quit old Florida time. Thank you to Ray for all the helpful info. He was close by and ready to help. He is a good guy and a real asset to this property. I would definitely go back to this house.
One other think that I should mention. The sunsets are amazing and the colors on the water surrounding the house will impress anyone.
Nice place to relax.
We arrived just after hurricane Dorian went by which made things thing a little different than usual i'm sure. We were there for four days and the wind blew for four day straight at about 25 mph so we didn't see to much wildlife like birds but we did see dolphins every day we were there. It was to windy to fish but just being there with the family was great. I think that Toe jam the cat was my wife's favorite part of the whole trip. I've already told a few people from work that they need to visit optimistical vista and i'm sure that my family will be returning in hope to get better weather.
Diverse Nature Great Outdoor Escape
Beatiful property, many water toys. We saw dolphin and manatees every day. Also caught many species of fish and crab from the dock out back. Beautiful views. Fun Week!
Optimystical Vista is located right on the Gulf of Mexico ~ 50 miles north of Tampa!
North of Optimystical Vista
~ 5 miles: Hernando Beach with wet slips at the marina that can be rented nightly for those with boats. Hernando Beach also has some fun restaurants- Brian's place, the Cove and others. Hernando Beach has a great fresh fish market too- Trader Bay Seafood!
~7 miles: Weeki Wachee- there is an exceptionally popular water park, Weeki Wachee, famous for live mermaid shows! Get there early, the park gets packed. In the area (as opposed to the waterpark) called Weeki Wachee, right on Shoal Line Blvd, there is also a small beach on the river for kayak launching and manatee watching. The Upper Deck is a fun restaurant right there on the river.
~12 miles: Pine Island Beach- a true sandy beach, not very crowded, easy parking, nice snack and drink shop, new bathrooms. Great family beach just up Shoal Line blvd to Cortez Blvd.
- 25 miles: Homosassa Springs- home of exceptional scalloping! We recommend River Safaris and Gulf Charters, specifically Captain Irish Dave and first-mate Gavin. Scalloping season is July 1-September 24, 2019.
~ 30 miles: Crystal River- famous for manatee, especially in the winter months. Great, quaint downtown with small restaurants, coffee shops and gift shops.
South of Optimystical Vista
- 5 miles: Hudson Beach- Sam's restaurant on the water is a must! Great food, great sunsets and a great beer list!
~7 miles: Port Richey, home to some wonderful, waterfront restaurants as well as the fishing boat, The Miss Virginia (great crew). Fish for Grouper, Snapper etc. Cost is ~$65 per person. This is a slightly smaller boat than the 2 Georges boat in Tarpon Springs.
~20 miles: Tarpon Springs, an eclectic Greek Fishing village. Tarpon Springs has incredible Greek restaurants (try Mamas or Hellas, be sure to stop at the Hellas Bakery). Tarpon Springs also is the launch point for the Two Georges Fishing boat. This is a great boat- a "party" boat- for fishing for Grouper, snapper, etc. Cost is ~$70 per person. Great crew- highly recommended by the owners of this "Optimystical Vista". Visit Anclote Brewery.
~ 43 miles: Dunedin, a lively Scottish town filled with great craft beer breweries including Florida's oldest, Dunedin Brewery.
