Enjoy the beautiful views of peaceful, clean, quiet Peabody Pond with 220 feet of secluded waterfront & 12 ft. from the water. Very quiet with very little boat traffic, ideal for a family of 4 -6, or two couples. Clean & well maintained with lots of games, puzzles & movies. We have a nice sandy beach w/a gradual entry into the water & 5 kayaks and a canoe including a tandem kayak. The lake is home to loons, ducks & other wildlife; perfect for kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming. There is a swim float for deep water diving, a 40 ft. long dock & a arge yard situated on an acre lot so there is lots of privacy. The lake is 2 miles long by 1.25 miles wide, 65 feet deep & is located northwest of Sebago lake. It is stocked with salmon, trout, and small mouth bass so the fishing is good.We are close to the towns of Bridgton and Naples & several nice spots for hiking; N. Conway is a 45 minute drive & Portland
There is a wood stove to warm the cottage on cool Maine evenings in the late summer and fall. There is an upstairs loft with a high ceiling that comfortably sleeps 4. No jet skis. Parking for 3 cars.
Great lake for kayaking. Almost no motorboat traffic and we provide 5 kayaks, including a 16ft. long tandem kayak so 5 people can go out kayaking to the island or along the shore and enjoy the wildlife - loons, turtles, etc. Lifejackets are provided for children and adults .
This is our second home and we use it often. We want our guests to enjoy it as much as we do. We have been renting it for the last 8 years and many families have enjoyed a week here in the summer or fall, kayaking, swimming and just spending time at the lake. The morning sunrises are breathtaking. We added a nice sitting dock this year , More pictures coming soon.
Cate or Bill Murphy purchased this cottage in 2004
Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful lake. A great getaway.
Very quiet and clean on this lake. Great swimming and kayaking.
Great cottage on peaceful, quiet, large, pond(lake). Good fishing, great views and sunrise.comfortable beds, easy to use wood stove for heat(did a great job keeping cottage warm).fall colors were just starting, would be amazing in another week or so. canoe and kayaks were very nice, canoe very wide and stable for fishing, lots of life jackets, many sizes. lot to do do in area, plenty of restaurants in Bridgton. washer and dryer a plus.nice grassy large side yard with plenty of chairs to soak up the magnificent view. nice deck. great owner. would definitely come back!
We spent a lot of time kayaking, drifting in the moonlight. hanging out with loons, and swimming. Just what we were looking for.Cate the hostess was great, most accommodating; home had everything we could want. We would come back again.
We have been looking for a lake property to return to each summer. We have stayed at about 6 different lakes and locations. We have finally found a place we would return to consistently. The property itself is lovely. Peabody Pond is the gem in Maine. It is small. Perfect if you like things to be quiet. It is a quiet lake. Not many boats unless folks are fishing. Perfect for kayaking. There are load so kayaks to borrow and my 9 year old loved it. We were able to kayak everyday. The float is great for kids to jump off. The sandy beach was nice for small ones to walk out slowly. Although we did not permit electronics (it was nice to have Wi-Fi to check my emails occasionally). Grill and picnic table were nice for dinners in the afternoon. It was truly a nice vacation. The Town of Bridgeton is close by and easy for grocery shopping or ice-cream. Naples is also close. Next year we will likely check out that area. Would recommend it to any family. Our kids are 6 and 9 and it was perfect for them. Washer and dryer for emergencies. Dryer was nice when the towels were damp and it was rainy (kids still wanted to swim). And last but not least; Cate and Bill are very friendly and great communicators. Easily best owners I have dealt with thus far with rental properties.
This was our 1st time on Peabody pond. You couldn't ask for a better location for a cottage (or as the people of Maine call it "A CAMP"). Peabody pond was so nice and peaceful not a lot of boat traffic so it was very nice to kayak on and fishing from the dock was great. We caught many small and large mouth Bass. The cottage was very cozy and comfortable. Since you are only 12 ft from the water you could almost fish while watching TV. The beds were very comfortable, and the house was very clean. We loved the sandy beach area, and the fire pit at night. The pics and the description of the cottage were very accurate. The yard was very clean and the lawn was nicely cut. One great thing was the kayaks and canoe that came with the house. We kayaked everyday and when you are looking at other cottages as your kayaking you will notice it seemed like this was the only cottage with a sandy beach. Most were rocky shore fronts. We dealt with Cate (the owner) she was very nice to deal with, if I needed info before we got there or while we stayed I would email or text her and she always responded quickly. She was very good with the paper work for staying there and mailed us our deposit very quickly after we left. I would recommend this cottage to anybody that would like to get away and enjoy a nice quiet peaceful vacation. I would like to say thanks again to Cate for making our stay easy to arrange, and letting us stay in such a nice place. We really enjoyed it very much.
My family enjoyed coming here. It was so peaceful and the lake was beautiful. The house was so cozy. We had such a great time and would definitely come back
My husband and children stayed here with my best friend and her family. It was exactly what we were looking for.. Water, perfect weather and relaxation! Enough space for both families, kayaks and canoes were a bonus.. We used them everyday! We took a 40 min drive to storyland for my sons 3rd birthday. Overall we had a great time and would definitely return in the future! Cate was very pleasant to work with! Thanks Again!
