About Jofre & Saskia Cacanindin
After living or owning properties in Germany, the Philippines, Hawaii, Manhattan, Croton-on-Hudson, and Raleigh, we chose the Asheville area to raise our three children. We love the cultural and natural richness of this place. The mountains, forests, ecological diversity, waterfalls and the local food movement, farms and markets, outstanding restaurants, cultural events and interesting, friendly people make this a great place to live and visit. We live just about ten minutes away from Winghaven, on a small farm with dairy goats, rare breed chickens, ducks, geese and dogs. . Of course we would also be delighted to have you come in person and visit with the animals during your stay at Winghaven! Naturally, we will always have fresh eggs from our happy hens as well as handmade goat's milk soap for you at the Cottage at Winghaven.

Why Jofre & Saskia Cacanindin chose Fletcher
After three years of successfully welcoming guests to the Chalet at Winghaven (VRBO #659460) we decided to build the Cottage at Winghaven in walking distance, but still with complete privacy. Like the Chalet the Cottage is located at Winghaven, a 38 acre property of beautiful forest close to Asheville and Hendersonville, NC. The Cottage is perfect for families or groups of friends. We are very excited that we were able to provide a way to access the main floor without steps to navigate so everybody can enjoy this mountain cabin.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Cottage at Winghaven was designed from the ground up to provide a relaxing, peaceful, private retreat for our guests to reconnect with family, friends or a significant other. It is also a perfect place to celebrate birthdays, graduations or stay for a beautiful mountain wedding. Of course we chose to build a log home because how can you not want to stay in a real log cabin in the woods? The wood burning stove and the large deck and covered porch invite you to slow down and relax inside or out depending on the season. Children and adults enjoy the sleeping loft. Alternatively the master bedroom is inviting and the lower level suite is very spacious with a sitting area and large bathroom. The three floors are tied together by a spiral staircase that leaves plenty of space to spread out and enjoy this cozy cabin.

Clean, cozy and easy to get to!
We had a wonderful stay at the chalet. The place was the perfect size for the 4 of us. Loved the sweet added touches like fresh soaps on the towels and fresh eggs in the fridge. Only recommendation is to have an all wheel drive car to manage the driveway (fortunately our Subaru did ok). But all around, great place to stay. Highly recommend! We’ll be back.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!
If you should return one day, maybe without four wheel drive, you are always welcome to park on the side of Winghaven Drive which is relatively flat, instead of in the driveway :)
Beautiful secluded property
Came here for a hiking, white water rafting, and brewery tours. Jofre suggested some great trails that we checked out. Everyone was extremely happy with the property. All the amenities were provided and everyone loved the homemade bath soap! Would love to rent this house again next year.
Great Log Cabin!
The property was new, clean and secluded. Our family enjoyed the small little touches like fresh eggs, homemade soaps and a kitchen that included snacks and some basics. It was a perfect home base to explore all the things to do in the area. It was a great spot that added to a great trip. Thank you.
Beautiful new cabin in the woods
This is a warm and inviting cabin and is well appointed with quality amenities. Everything is clean and new. Perfect for maybe two couples with kids as the loft is supplied with bunk style beds. Would happily stay there again.
We had a great time!
The cabin is exactly as pictured on the listing. Everything was clean and comfortable. The property is quite secluded while still being a 20-minute drive from downtown Asheville.
The only thing I would mention is that the cabin is 5 minutes up a gravel road. We had no difficulty navigating it however we did have one Uber refuse to drive up it at night.
