The situation of this apartment to public transport i.e. busses and trains meant that we parked the car in the garage (for a small fee) and didn't need to use it again until we left. Apart from Ghent centre we also visited Antwerp Brussels and Bruges. The fares on the busses and Trains were probably cheaper than using the car and a lot less hassle.
The apartment was spotlessly clean well and comfortably furnished to a high standard. The balcony overlooking a pretty garden courtyard was a bonus as we were able to eat meals out there.
The only thing that needs mentioning is that it is totally unsuitable for anyone not good with stairs as there are two flights of extremely steep stairs with shallow treads.
Ghent is a nice little town and well located in relation to "to other cities in Flanders
Warm welcome by the owner, the apartment is located 3 km from the city center. Those 3 km are easily overcome for whom mobility is good foot. Enjoyed the museums, the terraces, the Belgian cuisine and very friendly people.
It gets a lot of positive reveiws. That is partly justified. Nevertheless, we point out some downsides. It is a nicely furnished apartment with all necessary amenities. R n r nNadelen r n-1 bedroom is really beautiful but the other is small under a pitched roof. R n-the bedrooms are in the attic where no running water. For the toilet with your narrow creaking stairs. R n-the bedrooms under the roof and in the summer it is very hot there. Because of the mosquitoes, you must also shut the windows in the back bedroom. R n-Wifi works only on the balcony and in the kitchen. R n Although the street no through road and the apartment opposite a cemetery is , we were every morning between 7 and 8 wake of lawnmowers, trucks 's and circular saws. r n-The balcony is small and there is a lot of noise around (loudly Skype with Russia) and the landlord. r n r nVerder is a great place if you're n twos with z "get there early and heading off on trips to Ghent (by bus for 1 euro per ride), Antwerp, Brussels or the coast.
We have been for just 3 days within the accommodation but the apartment is lovely, nicely furnished. The only thing is that we had been promised wi-fi, yet the wi-fi connection was very poor with very minimal connectivity (if any) but in general I would surely recommend this apartment. The owner is very friendly and helpful and the apartment is in perfect condition.
