Down a sandy lane, sheltered by the tallest oaks in the area & frequently visited by hoot owls, this thoughtfully restored retreat provides a peaceful sanctuary from which to base a memorable vacation. The bright and airy fully-equipped gourmet kitchen has a breakfast bar and antique French doors which open onto the back deck for morning coffee in the sunlit garden. Large living room/ dining room and separate media/family room, both with fireplaces, and a half bath complete the ample first floor plan. All four bedrooms and two full baths are on the second floor; the master bedroom boasts an enormous antique 'lion's paw' double ended bathtub, as well as large shower with seat. One bedroom has a sleeping loft, good for children. The third floor roof deck is accessible from the master bedroom, up a ladder and through a small, serene and uncluttered meditation space.
There is a newly installed generator, ensuring uninterrupted water supply and basic electrical needs in case of outages.
The wrap-around screened porch, third floor rooftop basking deck, backyard terrace, front yard terrace and fire pit, hammock in the woods, back lawn with swing, comfortably long and deep window seats, fully stocked game cabinet and bocce court all offer many options to stay put, rain or shine. The caretaker/gardener lives on the premises. Swimming, surfing, or sandcastle building are all easily accessible at nearby Corn Hill Beach on the bayside, and Longnook or Ballston Beach on the oceanside. Morning croissants and wonderful deli sandwiches, groceries and newspapers, the Truro post office, bait & tackle shop and fish market are all 1 mile down quiet Castle Road. Castle Hill Center for the Arts is around the corner, as are the local farmstand and Pamet River Harbor. Golfers come from far and wide to play the oldest golf course on Cape Cod, the Highland Links, a public 9-hole par 36 combination of wind, dune and breath-taking ocean views. Pets allowed w/ prior approval.
If you are interested in weeks which are marked 'unavailable', inquire. We may be able to accommodate you.
For those who want more than a week but less than 2 weeks, the last 10 days of August are available for $4,000. The weather is still summer, but many of the crowds are already thinning come the end of August... a great time to be here.
Selecting a vacation home over the internet is always a bit scary! However, rest assured when choosing this home. We loved it for its eclectic styling, outdoor dining possibilities, outdoor shower (almost the only shower that we used!), its quiet location, and easy jog to the beach. Even our visitors from France (including 4 kids!) were thrilled with the home. The home exudes a well-lived and well-loved vibe that sets the tone for any summer vacation. The boys loved the sleeping loft and the girls loved having their own room. We also appreciated the extensive DVD collection for entertaining the kids so that the parents could eat. Enjoy!
A wonderful and welcoming house. It was very well equipped and had exactly what the description listed. We were able to cook meals for 6-8 people easily in the kitchen. It's large enough to accommodate 6-8 comfortably. The decoration made it feel pleasantly lived in. It's very convenient to both
Wellfleet and Provincetown and we biked to both regularly. We were so close to the beach that we took dinner there and watched the sun set numerous times. Highly recommended, we hope to be there again next summer!
When my oldest daughter from California said she'd found a summer vacation house for our family (nine of us) sometime in June or July, I had my doubts. Especially since it was for the third week in August. My doubts dissolved when i saw Little Pamet House for the first time. Once everyone arrived and they shared my and my wife's impressions, i knew we had lucked out. The large house's bedrooms were welcoming and everyone settled in very comfortably. Downstairs, the professional kitchen saw non-stop use and was more than up to the challenge of a family of foodies. And the dining room and parlor, that the kitchen opened up to, with its grand piano saw lots of activity too. The outside shower, something we were happy to find because of prior rentals with one, got a lot of after beach use and came in handy. We grilled our freshly caught fish outside on the patio and shared cocktails and snacks al fresco. And, last but not least, we played bocce on the regulation bocce court next to the house. Everyone played, even three year old Daniel, and the games were hotly contested and memorialized in umpteen photos. If you're looking, like we were, for a perfect family vacation spot, this is it.

We had a wonderful week at the Little Pamet House in Truro. This house is every bit as wonderful as the photos suggest: beautiful, comfortable and well-maintained, spacious yet filled with cozy nooks indoors and outdoors to read or relax. With the owner's beautiful art all around, this is unlike any other rental property. We enjoyed the quiet location, Truro's multiple choice beaches, beautiful trails and gorgeous sunsets. The owner (Kim) made herself available and was most helpful at showing us the house, providing literature on the area, and helping us obtain a parking pass for the week. We would love to return here and would highly recommend this property.
This was the first time we ever rented a house on the Cape for a family vacation, and I don't know how we got so lucky. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew this was a very special place. It was not a rental house; it was someone's beloved home, and every nook and cranny showed it. First, the practical side: Every room was spotless, the nine of us had more than enough space, the kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were large and comfortable, the master bathroom was spectacular (we still miss it!), all of us could eat at the dining room table at the same time, there were plenty of outside places to gather, and we never ran out of hot water. But the house is so much more than the practical things. Kim's artwork is everywhere, and the way she has decorated the rooms makes the house such a happy place to be. We actually spent as much time at the house as we did away from it because being there was so enjoyable. I highly recommend this house for a family vacation. We are so spoiled now, no other house will ever do!
The Little Pamet House is amazing, our stay was so comfortable throughout the week with 10 adults fitting easily. Everyone was impressed with the house and we spent most evenings barbequeing or on the screened porch or by the fire pit. Its in a great location and walkable to Corn Hill beach and short drives to local markets. Getting the beach pass for Truro could not have been easier, Kim had the form ready for us when we arrived.
Kim was fantastic! from the first email to heading home she answered all my questions and had many suggestions for restaurants and activities.
Everyone in our group loved the vacation and agreed its a must to do it again!
Truro is blessed with exceptional beaches on both ocean and bay, and unique historical treasures: nearby is historical Highland Light, Cape Cod's oldest lighthouse, as well as the quaint Truro Historical Museum where volunteers explain displays and special exhibits illuminating life in Truro over the centuries. The Cape Cod National Seashore provides incomparable beauty and opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, jogging, swimming and surfing. Fishing on the ocean or bayside, from beach or boat is unforgettable. Thursday night summer concerts on the green in Truro center are always popular and just minutes away. Provincetown, famed for restaurants, shopping, whale-watching and nightlife, is 15 minutes one direction, while Wellfleet, known for galleries, the W.H.A.T.theatre, boating, beaches and Wednesday night square dances on the pier is 15 minutes the other way back down Rt. 6.
