Chalet Favrands is a superb four bedroom chalet which sleeps up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms and a mezzanine. In addition, there is an independent one bedroom apartment making the maximum occupancy 12. Renovated to a high standard, Favrands offers a blend of traditional style and materials with contemporary facilities and conveniences. It is located in les Favrands, a popular residential area of Chamonix which provides a quiet location within a 15 minutes’ walk from the town square.

The chalet is laid out over two main floors. The ground floor entrance hall provides storage for coats and boots and a stair leads down to a large utility room perfect for ski and equipment storage. This room also has laundry facilities. A door from the entrance hall leads into the main living area which is open-plan and spacious with a 360' central log burner. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a breakfast bar with 4 stools in addition to the main dining table which comfortably sits 10 people. Three sets of glazed sliding doors lead onto the south facing terrace and large garden which enjoy wonderful views of the Mont Blanc range. On this floor, there is also a double bedroom with an adjacent shower room. A steep ladder stairs leads to a mezzanine bedroom which has flexible beds ie can be set up as a double or 2 singles.

On the first floor, there are three flexible bedrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite with a large bath, shower and twin basins. There is access onto the south facing balcony as is true of the neighbouring bedroom. This bedroom and the 3rd bedroom on this floor share a shower room.

The Chalet has secluded, mature gardens to the front and rear, enjoying magnificent views of the Mont Blanc range, external parking and a detached double garage with an independent one bedroom apartment. There is a €250 winter season supplement for using the independant apartment (€150 summer season). Please contact us when booking to reserve this room. The chalet also benefits from a hot tub, which adjoins the deck and enjoys Mont-Blanc views.

Superb accommodation highly recommended and great location

We had a lovely time here, the property is finished to a lovely standard and has great facilities. It's not too far from town and the lifts -about a 15 minutes walk.

Super chalet for family holiday!

This really is a super chalet to stay at, and great for groups. We were two families of four and had a grandparent pop in for a few days.

Incredible views, plenty of space to relax in, close to town, and great hot tub! The location is private yet close to amenities, and of course really accessible to the transport network.

Negatives - Lighting system is a bit complex to work out, a knife sharpener would be good, also watch out for the lamppost in the middle of the drive entrance, judging by the dents in it, I wasn't the first to reverse into it! Finally the entertainment system could do with a modern upgrade that allows you to pair a phone to it for music purpose! This is purely constructive criticism, we really enjoyed the property, and as always enjoyed the fabulous town of Chamonix.

Stunning, modern chalet with amazing views

We had a very nice stay at Chalet les Favrands this Christmas and would definitely recommend it. All but 4 of us were non-skiers so spent much of our time at the chalet. The property is just out of Chamonix itself but easily walkable to the town centre. The thing we really like was the living area, which is huge compared to many places we've stayed before and works really well from a social perspective. We were a large group and it suited us perfectly. My parents were also very grateful for the separate apartment which allowed them to escape from the kids and have their own space when it was needed! A small thing but a nice touch was the little Christmas tree that the resort team (Mountain Base) put up for us - we felt well looked after and the chalet was altogether perfect for our needs, we will certainly look to stay here next time we are in Chamonix. That's even mentioning the hot tub on the terrace which has the most wonderful views of the mountains and the glacier, the kids were in it for hours! Thank you Mountain Base.

Travelling around the Chamonix Valley

Although a car provides additional flexibility, Chamonix has a regular free in-valley bus service. Guests with either a “carte d'hote” or a ski pass can use the buses to move around the valley from Les Houches to Le Tour with stops at all the lift stations. There are also shuttle buses called “les Mulets” which are free and circulate the centre of town.

Getting to Chamonix by car

From France: accessible directly via the Autoroute Blanche (A40), which connects to the European motorway network.

Geneva Airport is approx 100km from Chamonix. Cost in tolls is about €6 for a normal car, all major credit cards are accepted 24/7. Don't get money from the airport – Swiss Francs are not acceptable!

From Switzerland: Motorway to Martigny, then Col de la Forclaz, Col des Montets. Martigny is approximately 50km from Chamonix.

From Italy: Motorway to the Mont-Blanc tunnel near Courmayeur. Chamonix is 15km from the Italian border via Mont-Blanc Tunnel.

By Train

There is a SNCF railway station in Chamonix. It is serviced by the TER regional train. There are TGV high-speed mainline train connections from St Gervais-le Fayet railway station, just 20km away.

The Mont Blanc Express: This SNCF railway line serves all villages from St Gervais-le Fayet to Martigny (Switzerland) via Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine.

By Bus/Mini Bus

There are coach services through SAT who provides daily connections with Geneva and Italy.

There are many transfer companies in Chamonix who run mini buses to and from Airports. You can either book a private or a shared transfer.
