About Kim Chasse
Hello, Welcome to Kitty's Lake House, the home I designed and built in honor of the memory of my Mother, who was as unique as you will find this place and the breathtaking spot it rests on. I grew up in Millinocket and moved to southern Maine where I work as a high school art teacher. My vacations always brought me home to this amazing place and this gave me the incentive to build this one of a kind property. Enjoy! Kim Chasse

Wonderful house right on the Lake
Spent a week at the lake house with 5 teenaged boys. We had a wonderful time, rented canoes, went fishing, did a white water kayak clinic with Maine Kayak, visited Baxter State Park (Ledge Falls).
Kim was always available to answer questions, to share ideas on what to do in the area.
The house is truly wonderful, right on the shallow lake.
Definitely will go back.
Amazing house, beautiful lake, wonderful view of Katahdin
What a fabulous house, so interesting. We had our extended family for the weekend to celebrate our sister finishing the Appalachian Trail at Mt Katahdin. It was perfect. The house is everything they say and more. Everywhere you look, something new and interesting catches your eye. The train went by a few times, which was pretty cool. We enjoyed the lake, we sat there and watched the sunset every day. The drive to katahdin was pretty quick, easily under an hour, but get there early. There is a line to get in and it takes all day.
I would completely recommend Kittys Lake House for a vacation, and we hope to return there again. Thank you for sharing it with us!!!!!
Sunset views, loon watching, extremely interesting interior
We were a bit surprised by the railroad tracks dividing the front yard and the lake but got to enjoy watching the trains as the week progressed. It is a steep descent down to the water but the view from the beach and house is magnificent. We loved watching and listening to the loons while sipping wine and watching the spectacular sunsets. The house is fun with funky decor and the open living space is really nice. The sleeping arrangements would be great for a family but really wasn't adequate for two couples. One bedroom was very nice with a deck overlooking the beautiful lake. All the other bedrooms, however, were twin beds or rooms that required climbing up to lofts with the exception of the bedroom downstairs that had no closet or bureau space and had very limited area in which to walk around the bed. That said, I think the bedrooms would work out fine for a family. We would have loved to know the background of the interior design because it was so interesting. It would be hard to explain, so check it out and see for yourself!
This property is an absolute paradise in the North. We spent 7 beautiful days here and wished we didn't have to leave. There were a total of 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 teenagers and this place accommodated us all comfortably. Bathroom on each floor (total of 2.5) was very convenient. This place has all it claims it does and more; full kitchen with dishwasher, dining room table big enough to seat King Arthurs court, 3 decks to sit on and enjoy your morning coffee in the peacefulness of the lake or an afternoon/evening cocktail to unwind from the days activities. You could easily spend an entire month here and still not see all the uniqueness of this place; it is really a place to be experienced! The house was very clean and well maintained. It's amazing when you realize the owner built this place himself - a true labor of love! The owner is incredibly accommodating and very responsive. I have already recommended this place to several family and friends; it's a great place to reunite and relax. Kitty's place sits on South Twin Lake which is inter-connected to 4 other lakes - perfect for canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding & boating, which we did all of. Baxter State Park is within a 20-30 minute drive with plenty of hiking trails and, of course, Mt Katahdin. The Big Moose Inn has a great menu and live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. We can't wait to reserve this place again next summer!
We had a fantastic long weekend at this amazing lakeside home! The open-concept kitchen and living space was great fun to hang out in for shared time over cooking/eating meals, relaxing and recovering from a fantastic day of hiking in nearby Baxter State Park. There was something interesting to look at and wonder about in every space--so unique and beautiful! It is well maintained and relaxing and comfortable. The upper library space was a cozy space to read and sip a glass of wine. The sunset over the mountains and lake was spectacular! I can't wait to go back....
Fabulous, Unique House!
This is a great house for any adventure. We used it as
a base for a hike up Mount Katahdin and absolutely loved our stay. Kim has built a truly magnificent house with all kinds of details that you will not find anywhere else. He was available from our first inquiry and ever afterward to answer any questions, and he was unfailingly kind and generous. Since we were a large group, we especially liked the long dining room table, where we had an unforgettable post-hike celebratory dinner. We highly recommend Kitty's Lake House. Thank you Kim for allowing us to share your hidden gem!
This property is 10 miles from Mt. Katahdin and Baxter State Park. Golf: very nice 9 hole golf course in town
