This unique apartment is part of a 4 temporary rent complex with private terraces and barbeque grill for each unit. This architectural gem has been fully restored three years ago, maintain it early 20th Century tectonic charm as well. Our offices are on the ground floor of the building, in order to assist our guests during their stay.

This newly renovated 20th-Century building, located in the heart of the Mercado del Puerto a block away from Buque Bus, it is a home away from home. This loft apartment consists of 127sqmts indoor space, 31mt2 balconies and 65sqmts of unique roof top terrace. Our apartment consists of two bedroom suites full queen size beds, two private bathrooms with bidets and shower/tub combos. A third bedroom that opens out to the loft space overlooking the living room, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, 2 living room areas. Equipped with , WiFi, cable,alarm and much more. This newly renovated 19th-Century building, located near Mercado del Puerto and Buquebus, will feel like home.

The apartment is a two level loft space. There is a full kitchen, bright and luminous dining room and living room and 1 private bathroom, along with a huge bedroom on with a walk in closet and a private bathroom, with bidets and shower/tub combos on the first floor. There is a master bedroom with queen size bed with a private full bathroom, bidet, shower tub combo, and a third bedroom with two single beds in a mezzanine over looking the living room on the second floor.The apartment is fully furnished and equipped has a full laundry (washing machine and dryer as well terrace for hanging clothes). Its serviced with an alarm, fiber optics internet, wifi and direct TV.

You also have a private terrace with a barbeque grill. The apartment is serviced with WiFi, Cable, alarm, water and electricity , all costs included except for electricity to be paid at time of check out according to consumption. There is a electrical meter for every apartment, upon check in we register reading and at time of chekc out, according to kilowatts consumed x 9,50pesos (apprix (27cents US currency) will give you the consumption ( average is about 2-4usd a day usd . As long as you do not use AC 24hrs.

Once a week two hour cleaning is included in price.

Our modernly furnished apartment will provide you with a comfortable place to relax when you are not out exploring the highlights of the Old City such as an art exhibit at the Banco Republica building, a bottomless meal at Mercado del Puerto or taking a walk on the Rambla.

We will provide you with information about the most popular attractions, phone numbers, maps and a few special surprises. You will be within walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Uruguay with chefs who trained in France, Michelin-starred restaurants in Spain and other top food cities across the globe. You will also be close to most of the top attractions in Montevideo.

About Olenka Bethe

I am a new Yorker, married to a Dane, as architect and enterpreneur both of us fell in love with the heritage quarters of Montevideo, and envisioned the development and restoration of this unique peninsula, we have brought in an array of investors and have restored abandoned buildings and brought them back to life, from the purchase of the building, set up of corporate companies, design and restoration and comercialization of the buildings themselves, we personally are involved in every step of the investment to garantee our investors the projected returns. And as we always put our money where our mouth is, we decided to buy and invest in this unique early 20th century building, we have fully restored it, turning it into a high end temporary rent apartments with and our office on the ground floor.

Both my husband and I have been expats in different parts ofthe world, and our mission is to breach the distance between our guests wishes and needs and the local culture, in order to garantee our guests a unique experience and discover all the treasure Uruguay has to offer.

I was born and raised in New York, USA but have been living in South America for the last 25 years, and as an architect my pasion is to restore the architectural gems found in my path, and transform this once abandond building into a contemporary space embraced within this unique early 20th century architecture.

We are comitted 100% to the needs fo our guests, Our offices are on the ground floor of our four fully furnished two bedroom apartments, so we can be available to cover the needs of our guests. We have a section with a huge array of brochures and services that can make your stay even better.

There is also a business center 5USD per hour/1USD per print with internet conection in th event you need to do some work.

We rent out phones 10USD per visit + the amount of USD for the minutes you would like to charge,(pay as you go).

We have various alliances with local services, such as drivers, tourist guides, bike rental companies, parking garages, etc, that allow us to offer special rates to our guests and assure to maximize the experience here in Montevideo.

There is a private terrace for each apartment with its own barbeque, so one can experiment the traditional Uruguayan parrilla, or share a barbeque with your neighbors, and make it a special evening, wining and dining with fantastic port views.

Great apartment for 4 people

The apartment is spacious, clean and well furnished. We had pretty much everything we needed. The downstairs bedroom had a couple of odd furniture pieces, but overall the design was tasteful as well as functional. The only thing I didn't care for too much was the noise from the refrigerator (only when the motor switched on from time and time) and the horrendous high pitched noise from the washing machine on the spin cycle. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay here and where it was located. I'd also like to point out what a pleasure it was working with Sandra. She was so accommodating and helpful.

It is a wonderful home away from home, very modern

The apt is spacious and clean, the kitchen modern and well equipped. We have had many home cooked meals and the opportunity to relax after our working day in Montevideo. I appreciate the helpful staff and central location. I would like to return and stay here again.

Excellent property in Old City of Montevideo

Excellent property, well-maintained with very friendly weekly maid service. Utilities functioned well and the decor was tasteful and amiable. Four star rather than five due to the location, although the condition of the neighborhood is the fault of the city government. The Old City has, however its own charm. One need only be attentive evenings as is the case in most any city. Highly recommended.

The process of restoration and revitalization is a long and arduous, but the rewards are priceless, restoring 100s of years of history, enjoying the hustle and bustle of the artisans and artist that thrive in the neighborhood, the mix of o locals and tourists throughout the pedestrian streets of the downtown of Montevideo is a gem in its own. Quero agradecer a excelente recepção que minha família e eu tivemos, durante os dias 30/04 a 19/05, no apartamento em MonteVideo. O imóvel possui uma estrutura deslumbrante com estilo clássico e confortável, culminando para o conforto de toda minha família. A localização do apartamento fica em um bairro portuário, totalmente revitalizado e com ótimo esquema de segurança, com proximidade ao Mercado do Porto, no bairro Ciudad Vieja onde se respira historia, o sistema de transporte é de excelente qualidade. The Heritage Quarters of Montevideo is flooded with tourists for its pedestrian friendly streets, it's unique architectural gems at the corner of every street from early 20th century cathedrals, apartment buildings to late 19th century houses. One is sumerged into the local vibe, it's culture, tastes, and sounds surround you constantly from the unique vibe of the Port market where thee are over 30 pariilla restaurants all under the roof of a late 19th century English industrial edifice, the scents sounds and flavors are so unique your mouth will water every time you think about your scrumcious lunch you had at the bar of Palenque, best spot , frontline to be spoiled by the parilleros, caretakers of the exquisite meats slowing brazing on the grill. The highest concentration of musuems are located in the Casco Antiguo all at walking distance for this peninsula is no more than 7 blocks wide and approx 14 blocks long flooded with pedestrian streets that are flanked with gourmet delights, shop till you drop....and enjoy the beautiful weather Montevideo enjoys 9 months of the year approximately.

Our favorite restaurants are Jacinto (Sarandi y Alzaibar), el Estrecho ( Sarandi y misiones) Es Mercat (colon y piedras) FOC ( 25 de Mayo ) Afternoon tea at Sinestesia, great musuems, MAPI (25 de Mayo y colon) Museo del carnaval,Museo Naval (rincon y misiones) Museo La Muralla, etc.

One cannot get lost for the main pedestrian street a must do runs from one end of the peninsula to Plaza Independencia. For opera and ballet lovers one finds the two most important theaters, Teatre Spdre with a magnifique orchestra director El Maestro Stefan Lano, and Teatro Solis.

El Patrimonio Antiguo de Montevideo está inundado de turistas por sus calles peatonales, de joyas arquitectónicas únicas en la esquina de todas las calles, de las catedrales de principios del siglo XX, de edificios, casas y apartamentos de finales del siglo XIX. Uno se sumerge en el ambiente local, en la cultura, los gustos y sonidos que rodean constantemente desde el ambiente único del mercado portuario donde son más de 30 restaurantes, todos bajo el techo de un edificio industrial Inglés de finales del siglo XIX, los sonidos, aromas y sabores son tan únicos que su boca le saldrá agua cada vez que piense en el almuerzo que tenía en el bar de Palenque, el mejor lugar, la línea de frente para ser echado a perder por los parrilleros, cuidadores de las carnes exquisitas frenando la brasería en la parrilla. La mayor concentración de museos se encuentran en el Casco Antiguo a poca distancia de esta península no es más de 7 cuadras de ancho y aproximadamente 14 bloques de largo inundado con calles peatonales que están flanqueadas con delicias gourmet y tiendas, además de disfrutar del hermoso clima Montevideo que dura aproximadamente 9 meses del año.

Nuestros restaurantes favoritos son Jacinto (Sarandí y Alzaibar), el Estrecho (Sarandí y Misiones) Es Mercat (Colón y Piedras) FOC (25 de Mayo) Té de la tarde en Sinestesia, grandes museos, MAPI (25 de Mayo y Colón) Museo del Carnaval, Museo Naval (Rincón y Misiones) Museo La Muralla, etc.

Es imposible perderse en Ciudad Vieja, la calle peatonal principal va de un extremo de la península a Plaza Independencia. Para los amantes de la ópera y el ballet se encuentran los dos teatros más importantes, el Teatre Sodre con un magnífico director de orquesta El Maestro Stefan Lano y Teatro Solís.
