Branch Township Chalet Rental Photos and Description

- 1 BR + Large sleeping Loft, 2 Bath, Sleeps 8.

Sportsman's Paradise! Wonderful Log cabin located on 25 acres, in Walhalla, MI, 15 miles east of Ludington, in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, offers thousands of acres of public land for hunting, dirt biking, ATV, hiking, and snowmobiling. The Big 'O' Cycle and Cross Country Cycle trail is 1/4 mile from cabin and can be accessed from the cabin. The Pere Marquette River, one of Michigan's top producers of rainbow, brown, brook, and steelhead trout, Chinook and Coho salmon is only a mile away. The beautiful Ludington beaches, on the shores of Lake Michigan, are a mere 20 minutes away. Many public boat launches located on Round lake, Long Lake, Big Star Lake and many other local inland lakes for great fishing.

Along with Little River Casino just 30 minutes away. Relax on the peaceful wraparound deck including a covered porch, overlooking Casin Lake. Casin Lake is a very shallow non-swimming lake, with lots of wildlife to watch. On those cold nights, snuggle in with the crackling of the wood stove and enjoy everything this log cabin offers.

We have large bundles of firewood available for $3.00 each at the cabin. Or feel free to bring your own for the woodburner or firepit.

We do all reservations and questions through Email. Please email for rate as site calculates rates incorrectly. Also secure online payments are available.

Why Please email Jeff Taylor prior to reserving. chose Michigan

This log cabin is approx. 1500' off the main road, tucked back in the woods. There are no neighbors in sight from this great cabin. Very secluded, quiet and private. Great spot to relax and get away from it all.

What makes this chalet unique

Walhalla was originally an Indian Village, located near Long Lake in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, approximately 12 miles east of the town of Ludington. This area is a nature lover's dream. The National Forest, Pere Marquette River and nearby beaches of Lake Michigan combine to offer unlimited recreational possibilities. The Manistee National Forest offers thousands of acres of land for hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, dirt biking and ATV trails. It is the only national forest with an ATV trail system in western Lower Michigan, and connects with an additional 180 miles of 'off road vehicle' trails east of Highway 37. Over thirty lakes and three rivers in the area offer salmon, steelhead, rainbow and brown trout fishing. Ludington State Park is located just a short drive from Walhalla and is called 'Queen of Michigan's Parks.' It features sand dunes and virgin forests, miles of sandy beach, 14 miles of hiking and biking trails and three campgrounds. Fishing charters are also available in Ludington, as well as canoe and kayak rentals, watercraft and boat rentals - even dune buggy rides. Other points of interest include the Big Sable Point Lighthouse and Historic White Pine Village, which is a collection of 21 buildings that depict small-town life in Michigan during the late 1800s and beyond. Walhalla Village is a great place to escape city life and 'get away from it all.'

Wonderful Retreat in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to the Taylors cabin, and it was all and more than we had hoped it would be. The cabin was beautiful, as it was our first time ever staying in a real log cabin. Very clean, and comfortable.

A wonderful spot to get away from it all for a few days. We will for sure be back!

Thanks!

We had a great time very nice cabin. We loved the woods all around us, very secluded. Very clean and any thing we wanted it was there. We went to Ludington State park and walked to the light house and went kayaking on Lost Lake, very pretty at the park. We had great food in Ludington. We went to the Elk Ranch went on a wagon ride and were able to feed the elk. I would recommend staying here very nice place. thank you so much for a great weekend.

Another Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

Thank you again for allowing us to spend some badly needed R&R in your beautiful log home! This was our 7th stay, so I think that speaks volumes of how much we enjoy it. Even though the weather wasn't the best, it didn't matter! I can't begin to tell you how much we all look forward to our stay every year. Again, we met so many nice people in the surrounding area and had lots of laughs and made great memories! We will surely be back! We love this place!

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Jeff for a wonderful, relaxing stay in your beautiful cabin! We needed to get away and this was a great place to just relax and kick back. Had everything we needed right there ---all was clean and well maintained. I enjoyed having a dishwasher ---don't have one at home! Jeff had a fire started to welcome us to the cabin. The only "surprise " was having to take our trash with us. -Not a problem for us, but it maybe something nice to know ahead of time. We did go into Ludington to eat at PM Steamers. We like it there but hadn't been there in many years. Good Michigan cherry salad and excellent mushroom ravioli. House Flavors was disappointing (just had ice cream) ---Slooow service and small portions. The Taylor's cabin would be a beautiful place to stay at any time of year! Would definitely like to come back--maybe with our snowshoes!!

Thanks again Jeff!
