Great location. Enjoy view of pond from garden terrace or walk 100 yards to the salt water pond and beach at Sengekontaket Pond. Bike to State Beach, or take a walk at the conservation land. If you have guests and don't want to drive, the house is on the bus line to ferry or Edgartown.
We just put the house listing on for rent this summer, so act quickly!
The house is on a 1 acre wooded lot with lovely yard and gardens and slight water views.
House is well-equipped with a kitchen with granite counters, open modern living space 17-foot high living room ceilings, bathrooms with custom Mexican tiles, bamboo hardwood flooring on first floor, full basement with ping ping area, dining table seating 10 persons, private deck with outdoor furnishings, outdoor shower, and many special custom-trim details. A great family vacation house!
This house is new and modern and filled with light unlike some of the older vineyard rentals
A charming light filled house. You will love this house!
WE are an architect couple with an architecture firm in Boston. We had been visiting the Vineyard for many years and love it here. So we finally bought land, designed and built this beautiful home together.
Lisa Reindorf purchased this house in 2008
This property is in a wonderful location on a sandy road leading to Sengekontacket pond. Its an easy bike ride to the beach and near conservation land.
This is a quiet and lovely area. We love sitting on the deck in the afternoon overlooking the garden, having dinner on the deck, picking vegetables, walking down to the pond or biking.
This was such a lovely house to spend our vacation. What we loved was the open airy spacious feeling , with the high ceilngs and windows everywhere. It always felt filled with light. The back deck overlooks the garden and woods and is a lovely quiet sunny place in the afternoon, great for reading, dining outdoors or sunning. OUr kids particularly liked wandering down to the beach landing and wading and searching for fish. We biked everywhere. Lovely house!
What a wonderful place to have a vacation. There were so many things that were ideal about the location. We were able to walk to the beach by walking through the woods around the pond, or just jump in the pond for a quick dip.
The house was filled with light, and was very confortable for the whole family. As an added bonus it had a lovely yard, and a nice flower and vegetable garden.
I would definitely stay here again.
At first I had thought I wanted to stay in the Katama area, but we couldn't find a house that seemed as nice as this one did. I am so happy we rented this one. The location was wonderful for a family. We were a few hundred feet from the small beach on Senge pond. The kids could go down there and play, we could walk down there in the evenings. We could bike into town easily, and our teenagers could walk or hop on the bus. Also several times we biked or walked through the woods to State beach for the afternoon. It was nice not having to use a car. The house was so much nicer than the average rentals we had in the past. I think because it was new and designed by the architects owners. It was so open and light filled. We also enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evenings, eating dinner there or reading in the afternoon. A terrific house for a family or group of friends. The owners were very helpful, left us a list of places to go and even left us a welcome gift basket!! WE highly recommend it for an enjoyable vacation.
We loved it! This home is not your typical vacation rental. It is a beautiful new contemporary style home filled with light from many windows, warm colors, comfortable furniture, artwork painted by the owner, and Mexican tiles. The fireplace is surrounded by colorful glass tiles. The architect-owners have included many unique touches, including the railing on the staircase and the sliding door to the laundry room. Both the front and backyards are filled with colorful flowers, which you look out onto from the back deck. The kitchen opens out onto the living and dining area. First floor master bedroom and bath.Great outdoor shower built on a tree. Just a few minute stroll to the woods and the beach at Sengekontacket Pond. It is centrally located between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. We hope to return soon!
This house exceeded our expectations. It had such a lovely feeling to it, cheerful and full of light. It was a happy place to be. Everything we needed was there. We could barbecue and eat out on the deck overlooking the gardens. It was great having all the towels and linens supplied for us... some houses actually make you bring your own! The decoration was lovely and such wonderful colors. We could bike into town and have coffee or dinner. A tip - you could stay here with out a car as the bus goes right by at the end of the lane. Great if you don't want to drive guests or your kids around. We particularly liked walking thru the woods and swimming on what seemed like our own private beach. The house was extremely comfortable and a pleasure to stay at. The owners were responsive and helpful. They left a gift basket for our arrival! I would highly recommend staying here.
Wonderful beach neighborhood with views of the salt water pond, a few hundred feet from the pond and the Tuthill Preserve. Charming varied island, with beaches, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking within walking distance of house.
