This 4 bedroom 2 full bath home located on Easton's Point is the perfect get away retreat. The large fenced in private back yard with two large decks, brick patio, gas grill, mature gardens and out side shower with hot and cold water is a great place for the kids to run around and for the adults to relax. After a day at the beach or sight seeing in downtown Newport walk to Flo's Clam Shack for clamcakes and fresh shucked oysters or sit ocean side with a cocktail in hand at The Atlantic Beach Club and watch the waves crash on the shore. We promise that you'll love the house, it has been completely renovated with granite bath vanities, new floors, sleigh beds and new kitchen, we think it looks awesome and we know you will too. Come stay on Wolcott Avenue this summer and have some fun!
We stayed in this house with my brother and sister-in-law with our kids (3 total all under 3) and it was absolutely fantastic. A 5 min walk to the beach, great backyard for playing, amazing deck for grilling and hanging out, and lots of space within the house for everyone to be comfortable. The upstairs provides a lot of privacy with a mini living room, bedroom and bath. The main level kitchen, living/dining room were the perfect place for us to all hangout, cook and be together, and the downstairs basement provides 2 more spacious rooms, with a play/TV room.
Gail was an absolute pleasure to deal with - professional, responsive, kind, and went above and beyond to make our stay great. I cannot recommend this house highly enough for people who want a low key Newport getaway. We will definitely be returning
We rented this home for my bachelorette party. It was very spacious with room for everyone to sleep in a bed. The decks in the backyard are breathtaking and perfect for a relaxing morning coffee. The backyard has lots of room and is very picturesque. The house was very clean and included everything you need for a weekend away. Gail was extremely easy to work with and ensured everything was perfect. The girls who attended my bachelorette came from all over the United States and everyone felt right at home. It was close enough to walk to the beach and a short uber ride to downtown Newport. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a great vacation!
Our daughter was getting married in Newport on Memorial Day Weekend (2015). We tend to have wedding weekends in our family rather than a wedding day. This place was great. Hosted our family of five kids, spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends and a mother in law. Great sleeping design! We had a Memorial Day Cookout for those still in town and the backyard with the large yard, (Corn hole), the decks for socializing and for sitting were perfect.
With so much going on, moving (downsizing), two of my kids graduating from college and the wedding all within four weeks I wasn't exactly on top of getting my money in on time. Rather than getting a nasty email I got a friendly reminder.
Highly recommended!! Bob
We just got back from a wonderful St. Patty's Weekend in Newport. We rented this home for our weekend. The house was absolutely perfect and met all of our needs. From the location to the comfy beds everything was great. The owner was excellent with all of our communication back and forth. We are looking forward to finding another time when we can return.
We rented this home to provide accommodations for some family members who were attending our daughter's wedding. It worked out perfectly. It was clean, with comfy beds, plenty of towels, a well stocked kitchen and plenty of space for a large group.
The owners were great. They were quick to respond to any communication and right on top of things...we had a chirping smoke detector and Jim arrived at the house within minutes of being made aware of it.
Thank you sharing this lovely home with us. We would recommend it to anyone looking to get away to the Middletown/Newport area.
The photos definitely do not do the house justice! It is cleaned, roomy (with the top floor room with private living room, balcony, bathroom and a separate entrance through the balcony = perfect for a family with small kids if you want your own space and away from the rest of the house for a bit). The backyard is HUGE and provided us space for so many fantastic Corn Hole games. The balcony with seating and the grill make each of our dinner that much more exciting. (Just don't forget your OFF :)) We wished there was more lighting for it though.
Besides a short drive to Super Market, seafood store (around 3-5mins), or downtown (8mins, and you can UBER it! because you definitely don't want to drink and drive on a night around town). The house is also only a very short walk to Beach 2, and restaurants/bars/liquor stores around there (FLO is our absolute favorite!) When the moon was out we even walked to the beach at night to enjoy the scenery over the ocean. A great reminder why we leave NYC in the summer and come here every year.
Jim and Gail are also amazing hosts, the best you could ask for. Not only they were excellent with communications, they went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. There was a little hiccup when we first arrived with the WIFI. As soon as the store was opened, Jim got all the brand new equipments and installed the WIFI in the house again before we even got back from the beach. And that's the kind of hosts they are.
We'll definitely be back next year!
Newport and Middletown are great for relaxing at the beach, biking, fishing, walking, sailing, and other outdoor recreations. You can go surfing, kayaking (rentals available) or boogie boarding. Newport is loaded with things to do! There's great restaurants and nightly entertainment. You can take in a minor league baseball game. You can rent bikes or mopeds to get around or go for a nice long run or walk along the beach. The Cliff Walk is a fun activity that you get to see the beauty of the coastline, view the mansions and get some exercise.
