Other Beaches and activities: Other Beaches and activities: The spectacular Ocean beaches of the National Seashore are also within a 5 minute drive, and fresh water lakes and Bike Trail to Orleans and Wellfleet are within .4 miles.
Enjoy the Bay Beaches with small children during high and low tides or spend the day at the National Seashore beaches during low tide for the waves and surfing that is safe for all age groups. During high tide, the waves are high for the daring.
Many families switch between the two beaches to enjoy the best of both oceans. We recommend that you purchase a weekly pass to the National Seashore beaches during your stay as the Bay beaches have no fees. Also, if you enjoy an evening cookout, make sure to request a permit ahead of time and enjoy the stars near a cozy fire with friends and family.
About Eastham: Eastham is a quiet town with several Ocean and Bay Beaches, a host of kettle ponds, pretty country lanes, panoramic views of Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, and lots of wide-open space for nature lovers. Pre-colonial stands of oak and pine were long ago harvested for fuel and shipbuilding and the terrain of the town is now heavily salt marsh and sand. The town was originally home to the Nauset Indians. In 1651, it was incorporated by a group of Pilgrims who settled here. About one third (4800 Acres) of the town is included in the National Seashore National Park. A new ocean beach is in the planning stages. When opened, it will be the first new ocean beach on Cape Cod in over 50 years.
Last summer, we rented this home and really enjoyed our time there. The home is set up where the bedrooms, and laundry are on the first floor and the living space upstairs. And with a two story home, that worked perfectly with coming back from the beach (we could change out of our wet suits, downstairs, and head up to relax).
The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms very clean. The home is recently built and feels very new and updated.
Upstairs the living, dining and kitchen and sitting room, were one big room with high ceilings. It was very well designed, and easy for entertaining. We did have other family up at the same time join us for dinner and had plenty of space. Also there is a deck off the dining and living room that has an amazing view (you can see that from the windows in the living room as well). We really enjoyed our time with the home.
Ida is the best. She could not possibly be any more accomodating. I love the openness of the house, the immediate proximity to the semi private beach, the stretch of route 6 which the neighborhood sits, and the moden comforts hidden in a neighborhood of bungalows and cottages. I cannot wait to return. This is a must stay for two family renters or larger families. You will enjoy the open concept and upside down desgin along with all of nice surprises. Heated outdoor shower, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach caddie, etc. The owners really do look to accommodate, we are happy to be repeat renters. You will not be dissapointed.
Over the years we have rented a number of homes on the Cape for our family for our summer retreat. Well, I wished we found this home earlier as it was just perfect..!!! The house is just beautiful, with spectacular ocean views from both within the house and form an extra-large deck. The houses looks like it just came out of pottery barn with the Cape Cod charm. It’s just few hundred feet to the beach path and also to Kingsbury beach. What is great, it’s on a dead end street, and the beach has no parking so it’s just you and the homeowners. Take a look at the pictures.
The first floor had 3 large bedrooms, setup for 6 but we had plenty of space for friends and family when they came. Wide open, no walls and can see the ocean from all the rooms. Nice setup with beautiful kitchen, full bath, with large LCD TV and plenty of space for watching TV, and entertaining and also a very nice area on the other side to read a book and just relax.
The house is great, location is excellent and the beach is great for the entire family and we just loved our stay last year. In fact we booked it again this year and can’t wait to arrive. I highly recommend and make sure to book in January as the owners have many repeat renters and quickly book out
We are located only 100 feet from Cape Code Bay on a dead-end street ( 42 Longstreet Lane, Eastham). The house offers fabulous views of the bay and beach access. Beach access is just short walk about 150ft to the sandy path to the Bay. We are also located only about 5 minutes by car to the spectacular Atlantic ocean side beaches of the National Seashore, and less then .5 mile from fresh water lake.
About Eastham: Gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore, the town of Eastham is a coastal resort community straddling the arm of Cape Cod. Located on the lower Cape, the town is bounded on two sides by land, the other two by water, the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay.
