great old house
This house was great! We stayed with our 4 kids (ages 11 months to 8 years). While the house doesn't have a yard, we spent most of our time at the beach or walking around town. There is a great park (Mulligan's Hollow) just 1/2 mile way away. The house itself was clean. The house easily slept 5 (we had our baby in the pack and play, so we technically slept 6). You could have fit a 6th person on the sleeper sofa in the upstairs, but that would be 3 people in one room. When we tried to use the grill there wasn't any propane and the owners promptly got a replacement for us to continue making dinner. The doors to the bedrooms do not close easily and the floors creak a lot no matter how you try to step on them. That is what happens when a house is 100 years old. This wasn't a deal breaker for us since we use noise makers while our kids sleep. We loved having a washer and dryer to clean towels/suits after the beach. They provided a wagon, beach towels, and beach chairs which was perfect for our trips to the state park! The neighborhood was adorable with so many beautiful old homes.
The house was lovely. 100 year-old beauty, updated and done in a cool, beachy palette. Having the beach chairs, towels, umbrella and wagon on hand was a definite plus. Nice to be so close to the beach and shops. Communication with property manager/owner was outstanding -- timely and super helpful!
Soccer in the Sand Weekend
The house was great for our weekend in Grand Haven. The house had a lot of room and we loved tor location.
We thoroughly enjoyed the home. Everything that was there was perfect. There were things that were not there that were a bit disappointing. There were two rolls of toilet paper and we were told that we would need to supply our remaining need. Having to go out at 7:30 in the morning for this was an unexpected situation. We've never had this anywhere before. We also would have loved actual hot showers. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.
An amazing stay
The property was very clean, a great location, and everything we needed for our girls weekend.
Gracious family vacation destination near lakeshore
This charming antique home with contemporary decor and high marks for cleanliness made for a comfortable family vacation stay close to the beach and downtown shopping. Thoughtful kitchen basics and ample paper goods made it easy to enjoy home-cooked meals and pack light.
Suzette, It was nice to have you as a guest at the Emerald Lady! Thank you for taking a moment to give us review.
We are 5 blocks from all the downtown stores and restaurants, and a 20 minute walk to the beach. The Imagination Station playground is a 10 minute walk, and great for kids!
