We only get one life, and time and tide wait for no one.
Deborah Mitchell purchased this cottage in 2003
We fell in love with the beach cottage at first site. It was a gorgeous, warm sunny day and as soon as we pulled up to the cottage and saw the view we knew we wanted to this cottage to be ours. We like that it is a very close walk to restaurants in under 3 minutes!
This property is a very relaxing and special spot. All who visit are amazed by the spacious view. It gives one a real sense of peace and fulfillment to be so in tune with the ocean and nature. Additionally, the cottage is central to everything Aquidneck Island has to offer.
We loved everything about our stay at your beautiful home. The huge deck, ocean breezes and beautiful views. Loved the peacefulness of the area and great to be able to walk to Graziano's and Scampi's which we both enjoyed. We both read 2 books while there and just loved waking to the sound of the ocean with our morning coffee !!. Went to Newport one day that our children & grandchildren were down and First Beach another. Our dogs loved the deck and nice area to walk them. Definitely hope we can rent again next year. Thanks again Deb & Dave.

We stayed at this cottage for a month. The accommodations were outstanding. The water front view was spectacular. We could not believe how fast the month went.We highly recommend Deborah and Davids cottage for a stay you will never forget.
Thank you for allowing my family to stay in your home. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it, the dog too!
We found this to be the most relaxing get away with everything that we needed right at our fingertips. The location is wonderful, the views spectacular and the local restaurants and eateries were awesome.
The information that Deborah provided was very helpful in guiding us on what and where there were things to do.
We definitely plan on coming back.
Our family of four stayed at this adorable bungalow for the winter break. We got to celebrate New Years Eve and have some much needed "time away" from our hectic lives. It was so amazing to just sit and play games, bake cookies, walk on the beach, fish out back, walk to restaurants for dinner, and view the "Penguin Plunge" on New Year's Day from our large deck! This house is well kept and cozy. The owners are amazing and quick to respond. We can't wait to stay here again in the future! When you stay here make sure to walk to 15 Point Restaurant, Scampi, and Graziano's 501 Cafe! If you want a relaxing stay on the water, then this place is for you!
We rented this lovely beach cottage Labor Day week. It was immaculate, comfortable ans very well appointed. The deck and view is spectacular. You can't get any closer to the bay without being in it! The water, even though it was September, was a balmy 72 degrees and wonderful for swimming! At low tide, you can walk the rocky shoreline.and we were sorry that we forgot to pack our sea rods as the blues were running in the bay this week! Deborah was very nice to work with & provided us , prior to our arrival, with the most comprehensive list of things to do in the area, restaurant suggestions, websites, etc. , that I have ever received from an owner. This was greatly appreciated, We had a wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable week and hope to return in the future!
This beach house is a great place to stay for a relaxing time by the sea but also a great base for touring New England, with easy freeway connections to Boston (1.5 hrs), Cape Cod (1 hr), and New York (3.5 hrs). We went from the Uk, via New York with older teenage children and had a wonderful holiday- sunbathing on the enormous deck, swimming from the front of the house and at the many beaches on Rhode Island/ Aquidneck, visiting Boston and Newport and walking down by the mansions. Great supermarkets just a short drive away and a selection of local restaurants within walking distance. The house itself is lovely- bigger than we thought with two double rooms and a twin- one double room opens directly onto the decking and the sea view. There are roof fan and air-con.The cottage is not isolated but has enough space around it that you do not feel overlooked. Although it accepts pets we could not detect any pet smells and it was beautifully clean. The kids enjoyed Netflix. There is a very well equipped kitchen and a gas BBQ. I wish we could have stayed here longer- a week was not enough to see everything and have time to fully relax, but after NYC it was a haven of tranquility with the best sunset colours I have seen anywhere in the world.
Only way it could be improved- if there was a small boat or canoe to explore the bay, and beach chairs for the beach.... but if you are not arriving by aeroplane you can always take your own! We would definitely recommend a stay here if you want to experience the laid back Rhode Island seaside life.
Enjoy all that Aquidneck Island offers: Sailing, Boating, Newport International Polo, bike trails, farmer's markets with fresh local produce, elegant vineyards, Newport mansions, top-ranked beaches, surfing, pick-your-own farms, national wildlife parks, lots of golf, horseback riding, swimming and touring. Fine-dining to fried clams all at your doorway.
It's a great place to enjoy New England! E-Z access to Rte 24, 30 minutes to Providence, 70 minutes to Boston, 2 3/4 hours to NYC, 2 hours to Hartford. Two miles to Portsmouth Abbey. Three miles to Roger Williams University.
Other Activities: World renowned folk and jazz festivals, Black Ships, Tall Ships, beautiful bike trails, vineyards, fine or casual dining, e-z to Newport
