Parpailloux is a renovated stone farmhouse sleeping up to 6 people + baby with lovely views in a private setting. Situated on a no through country lane, it is just 1 km from the village Montauriol and 4 km from the bastide town of Castillones which lies on the border of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne. Here is the epitome of South West France; peace & quiet in beautiful countryside yet within a 15 minute drive there are bustling markets, vineyards and gastronomic restaurants.

The house has been beautifully restored throughout. It is fully equipped and furnished to a high standard with both families and couples in mind.

Parpailloux is set in over 1 acre of grounds. There are several outside seating areas where you can enjoy the spectacular uninterrupted views; The Emperors seat is just perfect for an early morning cup of tea. The outside patio, at the rear of the house, is lovely for dining alfresco whilst the small veranda with wandering vines offers a shady retreat.

Parpailloux has 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room and separate wc washroom.

On the ground floor there is a 140 m2 living area divided by the stairs into a kitchen dining area and a lounge. The spacious kitchen fully is fully equipped with all the necessary crockery, cutlery and cookware you are likely to need. The farmhouse table seats 8 comfortably. The lounge is a charming and comfortable area which stays cool on hotter days.

From the kitchen diner area there is lobby leading to the bathroom and downstairs bedroom. This area is easy to shut off from the rest of the house offering a private area with sole use of the bathroom.

All of the upstairs bedrooms are a good size and all feature exposed oak roof timbers. They are well insulated to keep the rooms cool during the hot summer nights.

There is plenty to keep you busy at Parpailloux; the newly installed 9x5m salt water pool, situated in the back garden, promises many lazy, happy poolside days. In the barn adjacent to the house you will find table tennis and a dartboard plus many other garden games to enjoy. There also several bikes which you are welcome to take out for a cycle.

For the young and young at heart there is many an adventure to be had in the orchards and surrounding woods. You will find the beginnings of several dens, feel free to embellish! There is also a large trampoline in the garden to tire out the kids. The fruit trees in the orchard offer rich pickings in the summer months.

We wanted a family retreat where our children could run wild and be free; swimming, cycling, playing in the garden & orchard. Somewhere we could really kick back & relax. As a family of 5 with a large extended family we needed lots of space. It was also important to be close to several towns with all amenities including restaurants & markets that we could enjoy.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Had a wonderful holiday at Parpailloux exploring the local area in an

idyllic rural part of France.

Highlights were visiting the night markets with live music and great local

food and wine, shopping in the day markets and our canoeing trip.  The kids

loved the aqua park in Bergerac, taking out pedalos on the nearby lake and

being in and out of the beautiful swimming pool all day.

Would definitely recommend.  Property is spacious and really well looked

after and house has everything you need and more.  Garden really secluded

and very relaxing place to while away the sunshine hours.  Hope to be back

there very soon.

Absolutely fabulous stay in this stunning farmhouse in the most beautiful location

My family and I are just back from a perfect week at this beautiful farmhouse. From day one when enquiring about the property Emma was helpful and quick to respond answering all questions promptly in addition to providing useful additional information on the property.

The location is absolutely stunning! The drive from the main road was absolutely magical, along a winding road through fields of sunflowers and a beautiful little hamlet. Secluded yet 5minutes from a supermarket and 15 minutes drive from numerous amazing sights and activities, the house is absolutely perfect. Suiting both those wishing to relax by the pool in the exquisitely maintained gardens watching the butterflies at work and those wishing to explore the areas many gems, this house is perfect for all. The house itself is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside, we actually referred to it as the tardis, it happily accommodated all 8 of the adults in our party. The communal spaces were large enough for us to all sit around comfortablely together playing some of the amazing games within the games chest one evening when it was stormy. The bedrooms are all beautiful and generously sized. The house is also well stocked with all of the basics you'd except as well as additional bits such as plenty of beach towels, adapters, and fans, not to mention the fresh bread left for our arrival which all contributed to a brilliant stay. The outdoor eating space is absolutely fantastic comfortably accommodating us all for breakfasts, lunches and suppers in the sunshine. The bbq, pool, and outdoor games shed are all fabulous adding hours of extra fun to our stay. Rob popped by to check the pool and ensure all was well a couple of times adding a nice personal touch to our stay.

We will all definitely be back again thank you Emma and James for a dream week in your wonderful property!

Very quiet, restful and comfortable

The 6 of us plus one 2 year old had a really good time in this lovely old farmhouse. The garden is large and beautifully laid out and the heated pool very welcome as the weather gradually warmed up to 30 degrees plus in our second week. The garage has a table tennis table and plenty of outdoor toys and floats to amuse. The house is well equipped and both furniture and beds very comfortable. Well connected wi fi and Sky tv helped us enjoy the euro football and keep up with the referendum result. A sad day for Britain!

We visited several markets and bastide towns, a highlight being Beynac Castle.

gorgeous private place in the sun

We really enjoyed our time in your lovely home. The pool was excellent as was the trampoline and the games barn. Great to be able to cycle down to the tennis courts regularly and to visit the nearby towns so easily.Robert and Kath were so helpful with all their advice and suggestions. It's a fab place to spend a long summer holiday. Thanks.

Perfect place to relax and explore

This is the perfect place to relax and/or explore the region. The house is in an ideal position, in the middle of beautiful countryside but handy for roads that will lead you to beautiful places to explore.

The house is fully equipped. It is comfortably furnished and the free wi-if is very reliable! The gardens and pool are well-maintained and a local couple are on hand if you do have any questions or issues.

We loved it here and would thoroughly recommend it.

Very private and pretty scenery. House in lovely and clean and spacious. Lovely location

Great having a pool and games area outside. Could have stayed longer. And very close to airport and a comfortable drive from any markets lakes etc. would be happy there all summer.
