House, 8 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5.5 Baths, (Sleeps 24)
Our parents, Lois and Dwane Gaar, along with our grandparents sold their businesses in California and moved to the Ozarks in 1981, purchasing what is now known as Triple G Ranch. We children, Dwanette and Doug, love the ranch which was intended to be our heritage and our children's heritage. As we, Dwanette and Doug, grew into adults and began having our own families, we each built a home on the Ranch. In 2006, our beloved mom passed from this life leaving her real estate ownings to her two children and eleven grandchildren. We are the Gaar Family Trust consisting of Dwanette and hubby, Willis Moore and our eight children - Chelsie (married to Jesse), Amber (married to Jared), Ben, Ethan (married to Caitlyn), Faith (married to Kendall), Grant, Jillian, and Kristina; and Doug and wife, Lee Gaar, with children - Cody, Morgan, and Rachel. We are homeschooling families and have raised our children with Christian morals and a strong work ethic. We love our slice of the Ozarks and treasure being together as a family, enjoying outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hunting, crawdad hunting, and playing in the creek. Our children love the Ranch as we do, and excitedly await the day when they marry, begin to have their own families, and build their own homes on the Ranch.
Marie purchased this House in 2006
Why Marie chose Walnut Shade
Mom, Lois, always had a heart for people. Her home was open to many for ministry. She loved life and lived it largely. She was a visionary herself, but she always loved encouraging others to fulfill their God-given visions. Mom, Lois was most happy when her home was filled to the brim with people. She treasured her grandchildren and loved having them so close by that they were in and out of her house several times each day. She loved to pamper people in her home. We have so many wonderful memories of Sunday dinners and celebrations as a large family together in her home. So when she passed, we wanted to continue her Legacy. We enjoy providing opportunity for other families and friends to make precious memories together and to enjoy this beautiful part of the country. And we still have the opportunity to gather at 'mom's' house for family dinners and special celebrations.
What makes this House unique
While we are close enough for our guests to avail themselves of all the Branson attractions, the Legacy has its own captivating features. Mom and dad or grandma and grandpa get a 'cool' rating with the teenagers when they display their pool, foos ball, or air hockey skills! The home is big enough for a large extended family to gather together for meals and conversation as well as having enough rooms so that members can get to themselves when they choose. Some of our guests have never been to the country and are amazed by our wonderful hills, bluffs, pastures, and year round creek. Wildlife abounds here in the Ozarks, and you may see deer, wild turkey, and even a black bear. The ranch land is peaceful and lends itself to pleasant walks, a slower pace if desired, and many areas for calming reflection.

Large house with lots to do!
My family loved staying at the Triple G! We are a mix of adventurous and laid back personalities and the house was perfect for both! The pool and foosball table were a big hit. We almost didn't leave the house because we were enjoying all the things to do in the house. The house didnt have any weird smells and it was so spacious. Tips for large groups: if you need to use the sofa beds maybe bring a mattress topper to help with comfort. The only thing else to improve on is the directions for where to leave the unwashed linens upon departure. Email pdf and the sign in the laundry room were conflicting.
We wanted to stay longer! Thank you!
Beautiful Home, No Working Internet During Our Stay
We had a large group of us stay at the Legacy (18 people) and we were very comfortable in the home. We ate meals in the downstairs kitchen and the long table fit most of our group. There were several areas for gathering and our group utilized the pool table and video game machine daily. We enjoyed going down to the creek where the kids caught crawdads (*make sure to bring bug spray for the ticks and chiggers). There were also tadpoles in the fountain by the side of the house. We loved the two farm dogs who followed us down to the creek and in the yard. There were plenty of bedrooms and the two laundry rooms made doing loads easy.
The kitchens were stocked with the primary cooking tools. They had some spices available as well (didn't see sugar/flour as listed in prior review). The home was clean and well maintained. There was enough space for young kids to be napping without anyone waking them up, which was ideal.
No internet for our 5-night stay. We contacted the owners on day 1 and after talking with their internet provider (and trying the on/off 'fix') we were told that the internet provider couldn't get a technician out for a week. It was very frustrating to have no internet while paying $700/night. We conserved phone data and created hotspots when people needed to work (and obviously still went over monthly limits). We understand it's not the owners fault, but hoped for an alternative fix–usually for a fee technicians can be sent out or a mobile data hotspot could have been set-up through the owner.
Perfect for a large group to relax!
My extended family of 24 thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Legacy. There is plenty for all ages to do. Lots of little corners to retreat to when you need a break from people!
Haha, you have found our secret. Lots of large spaces to gather the whole clan or areas for small groups to scatter and even areas for individuals to find some quiet time! Something, whether games, amenities or outdoors, to engage every age group. We are so glad you enjoyed your time there!
This house was wonderful. It housed our while family, with plenty of room for everyone, 27 people. Hot tub was wonderful, kitchen fully stocked with appliances an even had sugar, flour, coffee, and creamer, which most places do not provide. Our whole family was very satisfied with the home and everyone that lives in the ranch was super friendly and assisted with any questions in regards to the property. Would definitely stay again!!!
We rented The Legacy for a family get together so my 82 and 85 yr old parents could meet their newest Great-Granddaughter (as family members travelled from Michigan to join us). The house was welcoming and comfortable and provided plenty of room for the 17 of us. A beautiful place! Mom & Dad wanted to stay another day (but most of us had to get back to work). Thank you so much for sharing this lovely home as a vacation rental. We highly recommend this rental to family/group gatherings. And be sure to visit the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, MO for GREAT food and service. You will enjoy reading about this small college.
Fantastic house for our family reunion!
Our 3 generation family of 18, ages 2 - 70, enjoyed this house very much. The lay out was perfect for our group and provided privacy for the adults and a quiet area for the youngest to nap while others were noisy playing games. We had a very enjoyable time here.
The Legacy is ideally located about 13 miles north of Branson with traffic free access to the high road highway that takes you directly to Silver Dollar City and the Branson Strip. Branson abounds with live shows and attractions for all ages including miniature golf, laser tag, world class golf courses, the Hollywood Wax Museum, The Titanic Museum, and more. Shopping in Branson at the trendy and upscale Branson Landing is a treat as you walk along the river walk along the Taneycomo. Or, find the best deals on brand names at our 3 major outlet malls. Lake Taneycomo is stocked with trout and many fishing tournaments are held there. Fly fishing can be done off piers or with waders. Near Table Rock Dam is a favored fishing spot. The Ozarks is beautiful country and affords many hiking spots for any level. Lakeside Wilderness area is a local and tourist favorite. The White River Trails system is great for hiking or mountain biking. Table Rock Lake abounds with bass fishing and sporting activities and easy boat and equipment rentals all around the lake. Rent a SUP and test your balancing skills. Moonshine Beach is definitely a local favorite with a man made sandy beach, pavilions, grills, and play area. If you are looking for some free attractions, Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery and College of the Ozarks Historical Museum (Hard Work U) are interesting to explore. It can be noisy and crowded in accommodations that are smack in the middle of town, But not at the Legacy! In our luxurious retreat enjoy privacy, and the peace and tranquility of the Ozark Mountains, yet be within 15 minutes of every single exciting thing Branson has to offer. It really is the most ideal location and accommodation in the area.
