We had a group of 5 best friends and our wives. Wonderfull place. Very comfortable. Everything we needed.
Tucked away in the "One Hundred Acre Woods" this house sits right on the beach and is truly perfect for all ages! The sunsets are AMAZING. The fire pit sits right up off the beach and is angled just right to watch the beach, sunsets, and dogs running along the waterside. The hot tub reminded us a wine barrel, so of course we jumped right in while drinking our wine! ;) Deck was perfect, hot tub was awesome (even the kids loved it!), volleyball was fun, and we even partook in using the little dingy boat.
We celebrated my step-dad's 60th birthday - we had a total of 13 people: 8 adults, 3 kiddos (ages 10 & 7), 2 toddlers (14 & 18 months), and one very happy dog! Everyone fit perfectly and we had zero complaints! Well.... that's not true. The kids complained that they had a hard time making sand castles since the sand was a bit different from what they're use to, but they still attempted about 80 sand castles and they perfected the moat and seashell collecting, so the adults were happy. ;)
5 "bedrooms" total: three upstairs, one downstairs, and a den. I put bedrooms in quotes because the den is not technically a bedroom, but it should be considered one! It is away from the living room and the kitchen (where everyone hangs out), has an awesome mattress inside the couch, and has shutting doors! It is a nice big room with plenty of privacy and space. One bedroom with a queen sized bed downstairs with a private bathroom. Three bedrooms upstairs: One master bedroom (with a little bed underneath the window, so a little kid could sleep there!) with an AWESOME deck and telescope, another bedroom had 3 twin sized beds (perfect for kids -- not really adult sized), and the last bedroom had 2 queen sized beds. My husband, our baby, and my sister shared this room and it was perfect. ONE bathroom with a shower upstairs, ONE bathroom with a shower downstairs (this is the private bathroom to the bedroom), and ONE half bathroom downstairs.
LOTS of room. Living room was huge, dining room table was big, kitchen is big with lots of counter space too.
I went running every single day -- lots of places to go run. Just start running and turn either left or right onto Mutiny Bay road and you won't be disappointed. Deer, HILLS, waterfront, bunnies, and lots of beautiful scenery.
We ate at: Patrons Mexican Food (good mango margaritas!), Charmers Bistro (highly recommend!), and Freeland Cafe (yummy mussels!).
LOVED THE HOUSE AND THE OWNERS!
Warm and cozy and right on the beach!
We had a wonderful time at this lovely home on Whidbey Island. It was really an honor to stay in such a unique home with all the special custom woodwork and accessories. I'm sure that each unique piece has a story to tell and we wish we knew them all.
We loved the custom stone fireplace in the living room. Such a cozy and warm place to relax. It looks as good as the photo and extra wood was nearby for easy use. Lots of seating for good conversations, too.
The kitchen was large and fit many folks trying to make meals at once. Nice appliances and it was wonderful to have the extra refrigerator in the laundry room, and we sure used it. We cooked a lot and stayed home to enjoy the views and lovely location. Our group went from ages 8 to 91, and it was perfect for all of us together.
It was also fascinating to see all the paintings and the book of watercolors by Bud Erickson, who must be a family member. And he designed the home, too, so wonder it was so exceptional. Our contact Bob (son of Bud the artist) was very responsive and available to answer all our questions. Much appreciated information!
We found the dining room table to be perfect for a huge family. Plenty of room for everyone to feel included. Loved the very distinctive wooden chairs, too. All of the wooden features were what made the home so incredibly special. From the china cabinet, to the drawers, the bed frames, the occasional tables, and everything in between. We even worked puzzles on the smaller convenient table next to the couch.
The wooden hot tub was older, but very warm and relaxing and we even got in some volley ball. What a terrific sandy court to play on. We were grateful for the wooden walkway to the beach. Made for easy trips there, even though it was such a short level walk. We also enjoyed the adirondack chairs near the beach. Now that's a great way to relax when it is warm and balmy; and feel the gentle breeze while listening to the water lapping on the shore, with seagulls soaring above. Sounds like heaven to me, and it was a definitely a glorious weekend. We WILL be back and we can't wait.
My family and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful home this past week. There were 16 of us and we all fit without a problem. We practically lived outside, the covered deck, sand volleyball court, firepit, did I even mention the wonderful beach right outside the backdoor? We watched the most incredible sunsets each evening. The house was so accommodating and had everything we needed or could have wanted. The owner was so welcoming and easy to work with. He responded quickly each time I had a question during our planning stages and I truly felt that he wanted my family to be happy and feeling cared for during our vacation.
Perfect location on Mutiny Bay!
We spent Easter weekend here with family and it was a perfect visit. This house has it all, views, comfort, serenity. Great fun to see the big ships go by, seals swimming and just relax. The beach is great for walking and the fire pit at night - just the perfect touch!Nice set up for a family vacation - didn't want to leave!
What a wonderful beach house. Furnished with everything you could ever want or need. We had a mini family reunion of 7 and there was plenty of room. Fantastic view. Bob is a great owner to deal with. I hope it will be available for us again. And the weather was great for November. Thanks for sharing your lovely house with us.
