Historic 3 Bedroom Ranch Home - Conveniently Located
- english, french
Kelly is originally from the mountains of Arizona and Gordon is a Tucson native. We love to travel and meet travelers along the way. Happy to give tips on places to visit, restaurants to try out and help make your visit to Tucson great!
Why Kelly chose San Gabriel
We live in the home behind the Ranchita. The front home/ Ranchita is one of the original homes of the entire surrounding neighborhood. Back in the 30-40's there were no homes, it was only ranchland. The Ranchita was the original ranch house of the area! There was also a very small building behind the Ranchita which is where we live. It was build upon greatly in the 70's. The entire property holds a piece of Tucson history that is appreciated by all who visit.
What makes this House unique
From the outside, you can get a peek into the historic home with the exposed Adobe bricks. After passing through the unique mudroom you can feel the original wood floors below your feet, beautiful large windows throughout and recessed cabinets and all the charm of a southwest ranchita. You also have access to an irresistible pool for cooling off or soaking up the sun.

Charming is the Right Word!
We were so pleased with our stay here, as it is a good central location to all of the attractions we went to see. For a couple, the size is perfect, and Kelly has everything you need, and more, stocked in her 40's Ranchito!
Wonderful and charming house! We were very comfortable band really enjoyed our stay.
Tucson is gorgeous! It was a great location close to great food and trails
Great location and host... but too hot
The home is charming, clean and had the amenities of the grill, outdoor private patio, which was closed in and great for our dogs. The kitchen had essentials needed for cooking and the pool was a life saver due to the hot summer heat. Location of the home is ideal. So many restaurants nearby. Kelly has some good suggestions to restaurants.
The bathroom is located in one of the bedrooms. Our situation was with a family member, so it wasn't as uncomfortable as it would have been with another couple or friend.
The main problem and reason that we cut our stay short was the temperature of the house. When we arrived, the home was atleast 85 degrees if not hotter. Going to Tuscon in August is hot and a cool home is essential during the summer months. On the first night, we could not sleep. It was too hot. My small dogs were panting all night, and the rooms did not cool down. The coolest room of the home was the living room. The thermostat was constantly running and it never cooled down. I texted Kelly in the morning and told her our concern and she made sure that the air would remain on all day to try and cool the home (she was able to control the temp with her phone) as well as call an AC guy. When we got home the house was more comfortable. On Saturday, we were out all day and when we came home the house was over 90 degrees. It was impossible to sleep in a home that would not cool down. We texted Kelly again and told her that we could not cool down the home and we would be leaving a day early. She was very understanding and apologetic. Kelly was a great. She responded quickly to questions and concerns.
Comfortable and charming!
Great house for my family to spend the weekend in Tucson! We enjoyed relaxing in the home and by the pool. The owners were so hospitable! We will definitely be back.
The house was just as described. It preserves the charm of the 1930's with some modern amenities.
We had a great stay. The home was very comfortable and suited us well. 1 bathroom was a challenge but we made it work. Takes me back to home growing up! This home was in great location, easy access to highways, easy to get around. We will definitely stay again when opportunity presents itself. Thank you Kelly and Gordon for your hospitality.
Cozy place with a lot of character
We enjoyed our stay at this historic home. The tight kitchen may not be to everyone's taste but the rest of the house is quite comfortable. The hosts Kelly and Gordon were very helpful pointing out things to do in the Tucson area.
Thank you! It was great hosting you both. You are welcome back anytime.
