Condo, 1BDR + convertible sofa, two terraces, WIFI, SAT TV
This contemporary one bedroom apartment (600 Sq. feet) puts you within a 10 minute walk to the most important sites in Rome: Saint Peter Cathedral, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. The flat is at the top floor, 7 flights up with elevator and well connected to all areas of Rome by public transportation (Cipro subway station is at 100 mt. from the building). The flat has just been completely renovated with a particular attention to details and modern comforts. Contemporary design, fine tapestry and wooden flooring offer its own distinctive look and elegance and make this apartment highly desirable to 'smart travelers'. The double bedroom, complete with a closet, a satellite TV, air conditioning, opens on a terrace with dining table for 4 and view of St. Peter Dome. The large living room has plenty of lighting, free WIFI, Home Theatre and a comfortable sofa bed for two. The newly fitted kitchen contains: microwave, gas hob, kettle, coffee maker, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher.
The Vatican Museums are indisputably one of the finest collections of art in the world. Over the centuries, Papal patrons have commissioned renowned works such as the magnificent frescoes of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel, and those by Raphael in his stanze. The museums also host some of the most important sculptures from the ancient world. You will have the opportunity to see these works as they were originally viewed and contemplated by the Popes who created the Museums. A chance to have this astounding collection to yourself just a few steps away from home.
The area offers a view of a everyday Rome filled with real Romans doing life. The popular shopping strip of Via Cola di Rienzo offers good amentias as well as an alternative to the high end fare found in say the via Condotti zone. The daily market at Piazza dell'Unita is charming and the prices are very good. A visit must be paid to Castroni with its wide range of local and international foodstuffs. There are quite a lot of groceries and supermarkets. In the area you can find restaurants of any kind and price. As for pizzerie we are fond of Gabriele and his 'Pizzarium' (via della Meloria 43). By the way we are not the only one who like Gabriele and his product as the great Ferran Adria' do the same.

Loved our stay in the Roman Vatican Nest! 4.5 stars!
We loved our trip to Rome and the Vatican apartment was in a great location for everything that we wanted to do. The apartment is an easy half mile walk to the Vatican and you can see the Vatican from the balcony. We loved the balcony and used it every day! Plus we were 2 blocks from the Cipro subway stop which was perfect for our Colosseum tour day because the subway was so easy to navigate and use to get there, and anywhere really. Also, we walked so many places directly from our apartment. I think the nicest thing was that the owner Mauro came to meet us at the train station to help us with the subway and make sure that we got to the apartment easily. This was very kind as we were getting in late and we were tired! Plus it is funny that his cleaning person does not get rid of all of the food from past guests, but for us it was really nice because there was really good unopened food that we appreciated! (And the container for garbage is easy to find outside of the apartment building.) Two other things that make this place really nice are the grocery store and the restaurant that you can see from the balcony. They are just a few steps away and both are excellent! And if you want more diversity in going out, Mauro provides many suggestions for restaurants and entertainment nearby. At night, when all the stores roll down their metal window covers, the area can seem odd. But that is just the way things look in cities in Europe at night! At first that was weird for us, then we got used to it. Our family of 4 had a lovely time in this Vatican apartment! -Suzanne,Minnesota,USA
thank you for your review. As for the food in the fridge I fear that there is a misunderstanding as the food was not left by anybody but it was bought expressly for you at no charge. Ciao. Mauro
spring break in Florence March 2018
Our daughter is studying in Florence this semester, so we traveled to Italy for spring break. The first few days of the trip were spent in Rome at Carmen & Mauro's apartment. It was perfect for our family of 4! It's a great location near the grocer and subway. Mauro arranged a ride from the airport and helped us when we did not have exact change for the driver (GRAZIE Mauro). Our first night we walked to a great pizza place, Bonci (GRAZIE Mauro for the recommendation).
The apartment is well appointed and even had a few provisions in the refrigerator for us to enjoy!
Ciao - grazie!
Nice appartment, very well located!
We really enjoyed our stay in Rome. The appartment was nice, we enjoyed having our breakfast on the balcony in the morning. Close proximity to the metro, grocery stores and restaurants. Easy access to the sites, walking distance to the Vatican and metro for the rest. The owners were very accomodating. We strongly recommend this appartment.

Comfortable apartment in a convenient location
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this comfortable apartment near the Vatican. It is very nicely sized and comfortable for 2 people. It could accommodate more on a sofa sleeper, but then it would become a little more cramped. The ability to do our laundry at the apartment allowed us the convenience of packing more lightly for our 2 weeks in Italy. The kitchen is sufficient for cooking just about anything. It was quite hot while we were in Rome, but the apartment's two air conditioners kept us cool. In fact, we did not bother to use the one in the main living area since were were out and about most days. We simply closed the bedroom door at night and turned on the bedroom air conditioner. It kept us very cool and we slept like babies.
The apartment is about 0.6 miles (1 km) from the Vatican museums and the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica is about a 1 mile walk. There is a metro station just around the corner from the apartment that will get you just about anywhere else you need to go, including the ancient sites and the train station.
Mauro was an excellent host. He arranged for a car service to pick us up at the airport and took us for a brief walk around the neighborhood when we arrived to show us some favorite restaurants and the grocery stores. He even took us for a site-seeing drive one night.
Overall, I thought the apartment was a great value. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting Rome for business or pleasure.
Perfect! A very charming, well designed and furnished apartment, providing a gateway to Rome!
We had our best introduction to Rome imaginable, thanks to Mauro and Carmen and their wonderful apartment!
We are an airline family, living in Anchorage, Alaska. Our two children have been studying the Roman Empire and Latin, and mom--being a bit of a foodie--is always in search of the best "Cacio e Pepe," a paste specialty! Consequently, it was our time to venture to Rome!
We needed a place that was close to the Vatican, but also provided us access with easy access to the Coliseum, Palatine Hill, The Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and the many amazing piazzas and restaurants. We also wanted to be in a real neighborhood, shop locally, prepare our own meals, and refresh after playing tourist. WE FOUND THE PLACE!
The Vatican museums were an easy 10 minute walk. Cipro Metro station was a couple of blocks away--and so easy to use to get everywhere in the city! Carrefour Market, a supermarket, was a block away and many other little fresh fruit and vegetable stands were all in the neighborhood. The apartment was so well equipped for cooking, napping and just relaxing! Bonci pizza was a great local find, for when we were too tired to cook!
As special as the property is, what made this place exceptional for us, was the incredible hospitality and helpfulness of Mauro, one of the owners. From advice on transportation from the airport, and where to stay until the apartment became available, to guiding us through a translation misunderstanding... he was warm, generous, and someone we could trust and rely on!
Thank you so much Mauro (and Carmen) for helping to make our stay in Rome so amazingly wonderful!
Great location. Perfect stay
