Entertain family and friends in this spacious, fully-equipped and comfortable two-story home. Two kitchens, one gourmet with everything but food, and one scaled-down for smaller groups.
The view is all you need for relaxation and inspiration, but the 180-channel satellite dishes on both floors bring your favorite movies, sports and music to you day or night.
The beach is five minutes away by car. Walking to the beach is for adventurers. Dogs, but not cats, are welcome. BRING BINOCULARS!
I've owned Stormwatch for eleven years and enjoy sharing it with family, friends and renters. Everybody loves a week or weekend here, no matter what the weather is. It changes every hour, especially in the winter.
Jan Holloway purchased this house in 2005
Oceanside is off the beaten path. It's primarily owner occupied homes with no retail outlets. The restaurants are small, locally owned and offer fresh seafood. The Happy Camp beach south of Stormwatch is shallow and much warmer because of its sand bar.
The view from almost every room feeds your soul. It's why you come to the coast. You can eat every meal and enjoy every book with the ocean and sky next to you.
Winter rates, from September 15th to May 1st are $190 per night.
I appreciated that the property matched the description and pictures that were provided. Lots of room with really nice views. Everything was there that we wanted and we had absolutely no problems. We would go back and stay there again.
A lovely, well-appointed house with a gorgeous view!! 6 adults were perfectly comfortable for 4 days - plenty of space, everything you could want in the kitchen, comfortable beds, 2 TVs with Dish, a 2-car garage, games galore. It's a quick drive to get to the beach, a few minutes to Oceaside for dinner at Roseanna's, about 15 minutes to Tillamook. There was wifi so we could keep connected with the outside world. Jan was super easy to work with. We had a stormy weekend, but the day we left was clear and we could see what an amazing view we missed. I would recommend this property wholeheartedly.
This home is well thought out, has everything you could possibly need and a beautiful view. We had great family time and enjoyed exploring the coastal towns on a busy 4th of July weekend. The fireworks on Rockaway Beach were so spectacular!! You just have to get there early for parking and have patience for the traffic. Weather was perfect and this home gave us the time we needed together. The only thing I think people should know is that you would need a car to get to the beach. (The walk maybe fine for younger people with the distance needed to walk, busy road and steep hills, but not for us or our young grandchildren) That being said, we didn't have any trouble getting parking in the nearby locations and the beaches are so wonderful to walk and explore!! So worth the location and the drive!! This owner was wonderful to work with too. We hope to return again some day. :)
Waking up every morning to a stunning view of the ocean was heaven! The house was beautifully appointed with everything you would need for a relaxing get away.
Jan responded to all inquires quickly and made our stay hassle free.
We found Stormwatch after having had our previously made months in advance beachfront reservation through a Lincoln City group cancelled just 3 weeks before arrival. Stormwatch and Jan came to the rescue with a surprising July 4th weekend availability. While not beachfront, the house is just a short distance from the wonderfully secluded and picturesque beaches of Oceanside. The home is outfitted superbly with just about everything you need for meals, entertainment, comfort. We were very delighted and the kids all loved it. There are games and books, satellite tv, 2 levels with seperate quarters downstairs and a mini-kitchen. The upstairs kitchen is great with all the cookware, appliances and utensils you could ever need. We started out on the "adventurous" walk to the beach and decided it was too adventurous for kids and adults. We drove 2 minutes down the road and parked in the public parking space for the beach (get there early for a good spot). We had lunch at Roseannes next to the beach and it was GREAT FOOD! Try the chowder because it was as good as we've ever had (and we've been around). Since there is very limited mobile phone reception around the area I think it would have been nice to have wireless internet available, but the rest of our two family group did not (smile). Thumbs up for Jan and Stormwatch.
10-minute drive to Air Museum in Tillamook, 40-minute drive (including traffic) to outlet stores and Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City
