About Jan Holloway

I've owned Stormwatch for twelve years and enjoy sharing it with family, friends and renters. Everybody loves a week or weekend here, no matter what the weather is. It changes every hour, especially in the winter.

Jan Holloway purchased this house in 2005

Why Jan Holloway chose Oceanside

Oceanside is off the beaten path. It's primarily owner occupied homes with no retail outlets. The restaurants are small, locally owned and offer fresh seafood. The Happy Camp beach south of Stormwatch is shallow and much warmer because of its sand bar.

What makes this house unique

The view from almost every room feeds your soul. It's why you come to the coast. You can eat every meal and enjoy every book with the ocean and sky next to you.

Winter rates, from September 15th to May 15th, are $220 per night.

Most impressive location

  • 5 of 5

Stormwatch was everything we had imagined and more. Total refinement of the senses - peace and quiet led to relaxation and delight. This home is fully stocked with quality furnishing and home goods. It sits in a grove of trees with a view of the ocean and sunsets that will dazzle you every evening. A truly wonderful spot to rest your soul.

Lovely house in a nice quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The house is great. Very comfortable and clean. Nice view of the ocean. The name is appropriate. We had thunder and lightening storms that were really something. Even had a water spout right out our window.

The area is a bit more remote then we realized but it was great. Nice beach. Cute little town and a couple of excellent restaurants

Strong,y recommend it

not that great

  • 3 of 5

We found this rental to not be in the best shape. It wasn't very clean. The door to the upstairs patio is very hard to operate. The TV downstairs did not have a remote that worked. The view was great.

Beautiful views, spacious home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed this roomy house on a hill overlooking the coast south of Oceanside. The garage door was open when we arrived, but everything seemed to be ok. We appreciated that the owner responded to concerns, even on 4th of July. She helped us get to deck chairs and grill, e.g., (accidentally locked in storeroom), though it turned out to be too cool & windy to use them. The house has a homey, well-used feel with lots of books, games, movies, kitchen supplies & equipment. And, what a view!! We followed the owner's directions for a walk to the beach--it truly is for the adventurous, as she said: very steep at the end, but fun. It took us about 30 minutes to walk to Oceanside, probably 5-10 minutes by car.
