Overview

About the property

- 3 BR, 2 BA, Sleeps 6.

Listed as one of Cape Cods finest home in 2015: http://capecod.curbed.com/archives/2015/12/23/beautiful-cape-cod-homes-2015.php

Built in the 1930's this quintessential waterfront cottage, with spectacular views and sunsets, has been fully updated while maintaining all the charm and feeling of a true beach hideaway. The house has water views from virtually every window in the house: one side of the Bay and the other of the huge dunes surrounding Pilgrim Lake. It has been carefully restored to its original wood walls, ceilings and floors, sunny open rooms, but with brand new bathrooms, Weber gas grill, and a new well stocked kitchen. It will sleep 6 in 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, outdoor shower, and an open living room with wood burning brick fireplace. There is a bedroom on the first floor with a bathroom. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a full bath. All bedrooms face the water and have wonderful views of the Bay. If you are looking for the convenience and activity of Provincetown, but want the tranquility of being on a private beach this is the right house for you.

The house is located just over the Provincetown border in the Beach Point area of Truro and the Provincetown shuttle is available at the end of the driveway, so you can avoid all the hassles of parking in Provincetown. Pet friendly- 1 pet permitted with extra cleaning fee and pet application.

Great Find

  • 5 of 5

I love this house. The information in the description doesn't give it the justice it deserves. The owners have provided the comforts of home rather than the cheap junk of a tag sale that's found in most rentals. My experience well exceeded what I read. This is a well loved house that deserves to be rented by people who care about other people's property and care about the quality of where they stay. I will not look for any other place to rent when planning a vacation on the Cape.

Amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

Quintessential Cape Cod home. Attention to detail throughout!! We had our family(six adults)-everyone loved it!! Views of the water from every room!!! Quiet location yet close to P town, the dunes, Wellfleet, bike trail ...We loved hiking at Pamet Beach and at the sand dunes of Peaked Hill. Ross and Mike were wonderful hosts. Picture it-the wind howling outside as we sat around a roaring fire listening to some live violin, mandolin and fiddle -courtesy of our oldest daughter and Anthony!!! If you love the cape, and appreciate what the cape really is-you will love staying at this house!!! Thank you Ross and Mike for a memorable week!!!

Quintessential Cape Cod house on the beach.

  • 5 of 5

This house that we rented for nearly a week's time was exactly as portrayed in all advertising and listings, thus we got what we expected and what we wanted. The setting is on the beach and we had a remarkable direct view of sun rise and sun set. It was December so we did not swim but we frequented the beach which is soft clean sand and crystal clear water, and we saw seals playing just out from our house. The comforts of home were all there. Nothing went wrong but we were advise after arrival anything needing attention would get it right away. All we could hear there besides ourselves was wind and waves. Our family went and we all were situated in nice bedrooms, and the baths are very nice. The ambiance is unpretentious and homey to the point that we did feel at home. We ate in most of the time, but toured the area with great enjoyment in the National Preserve and our favorite building in Provencetown is the library that is housed in a defunct church. All positives with our vacation and especially this house. Hank

Great way to end the summer

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage. It is a great location, close to everything on the lower cape. The cottage had everything we needed, and Ross was very responsive to my last minute questions. We enjoyed excellent meals in Wellfleet and Provincetown, and when the weather permitted, we biked in the dunes, kayaked in the bay, and walked on the jetty out to Wood End Light. It was a great way to end the summer!

Outstanding home and owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. The home is well equipped with all that you need but still retains the charm and comfort of this classic home. We enjoyed the large deck and quiet beach, even on the cooler days. Mike and Ross could not have been more accommodating. Our entire family felt relaxed and comfortable here. We hope to return!

Perfect Cape Cod Beach Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have been staying here since 2006. The location is perfect and the description of this cottage is more than expected. The views of the ocean can be seen from all rooms upstairs and downstairs. Plenty of room for a family or just a couple. Having your morning coffee on the back deck when the sun rises right through cocktail time when the sun sets provide the most beautiful times of the day.All amenities from linens, kitchen items, etc. are well supplied. When we arrive the inside and out are always clean and well taken care of. Several times when we first arrive we have gotten a call from Ross or Mike to make sure everything is alright or if they are staying at their cottage down the road they always come over to check with us which is very thoughtful.

The tour of the dunes, the whale watch ,sailing on the Bay Lady and the various beaches for fishing or just spending time on the beautiful beaches are just some of the many things to do and are easily found in the area. The Bookstore & Restaurant & Mac's both located at the Wellfleet Harbor are some of our favorites but there are many on Route 6 and in Provincetown - The Post Office Bar and Grill in Provincetown is recommended for breakfast, etc.

We look forward each year to our stay at 584 Shore Road and would never want to stay at any other cottage. This is truly a Cape Cod cottage.
