Listed as one of Cape Cods finest home in 2015: http://capecod.curbed.com/archives/2015/12/23/beautiful-cape-cod-homes-2015.php
Built in the 1930's this quintessential waterfront cottage, with spectacular views and sunsets, has been fully updated while maintaining all the charm and feeling of a true beach hideaway. The house has water views from virtually every window in the house: one side of the Bay and the other of the huge dunes surrounding Pilgrim Lake. It has been carefully restored to its original wood walls, ceilings and floors, sunny open rooms, but with brand new bathrooms, Weber gas grill, and a new well stocked kitchen. It will sleep 6 in 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, outdoor shower, and an open living room with wood burning brick fireplace. There is a bedroom on the first floor with a bathroom. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a full bath. All bedrooms face the water and have wonderful views of the Bay. If you are looking for the convenience and activity of Provincetown, but want the tranquility of being on a private beach this is the right house for you.
The house is located just over the Provincetown border in the Beach Point area of Truro and the Provincetown shuttle is available at the end of the driveway, so you can avoid all the hassles of parking in Provincetown. Pet friendly- 1 pet permitted with extra cleaning fee and pet application.
GREAT HOUSE! GREAT COMMENTS FROM RENTERS
I love this house. The information in the description doesn't give it the justice it deserves. The owners have provided the comforts of home rather than the cheap junk of a tag sale that's found in most rentals. My experience well exceeded what I read. This is a well loved house that deserves to be rented by people who care about other people's property and care about the quality of where they stay. I will not look for any other place to rent when planning a vacation on the Cape.
We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. The home is well equipped with all that you need but still retains the charm and comfort of this classic home. We enjoyed the large deck and quiet beach, even on the cooler days. Mike and Ross could not have been more accommodating. Our entire family felt relaxed and comfortable here. We hope to return!
We have been staying here since 2006. The location is perfect and the description of this cottage is more than expected. The views of the ocean can be seen from all rooms upstairs and downstairs. Plenty of room for a family or just a couple. Having your morning coffee on the back deck when the sun rises right through cocktail time when the sun sets provide the most beautiful times of the day.All amenities from linens, kitchen items, etc. are well supplied. When we arrive the inside and out are always clean and well taken care of. Several times when we first arrive we have gotten a call from Ross or Mike to make sure everything is alright or if they are staying at their cottage down the road they always come over to check with us which is very thoughtful.
The tour of the dunes, the whale watch ,sailing on the Bay Lady and the various beaches for fishing or just spending time on the beautiful beaches are just some of the many things to do and are easily found in the area. The Bookstore & Restaurant & Mac's both located at the Wellfleet Harbor are some of our favorites but there are many on Route 6 and in Provincetown - The Post Office Bar and Grill in Provincetown is recommended for breakfast, etc.
We look forward each year to our stay at 584 Shore Road and would never want to stay at any other cottage. This is truly a Cape Cod cottage.
My family and I have just returned from our visit to Truro and I am already excited to plan a trip back for the future. From the moment we arrived at the cottage, I was incredibly surprised with all of the "extras" available to us at our home away from home. When an incredible rain storm came in our first afternoon, we passed the time by the roaring fire playing trivia games and completing the jigsaw puzzles found in the closets upstairs. With the sun shining the rest of the week, we quickly developed a morning routine of drinking coffee on the beach, and with the oversized coffee mugs from the cabinets, we walked forever before coming back for refills.
During the days, we pried ourselves away from our haven to take in all the sites. Eccentric people and unique shops kept us entertained in town for hours, and despite the sunburn and sore muscles (from carrying all of our purchases!) we returned more than once in an effort to see it all.
In the evenings, we walked to the local markets to pick up a fresh catch or grabbed some meat and veggies for dinner on the grill. After a quick game of football on the beach, we sat out on the deck to watch the sun set while we ate dinner. The cottage had everything we needed and so many extras. Plastic dinnerware and trays, along with skewers, made eating Shish Babob on the grill a cinch, and left more time for games and happy hours. The large dinner tables allowed every meal to be a family meal; it felt like a holiday dinner everyday.
I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience our trip was. The owners, Ross and Mike, provided so much information ahead of time, and the books, journals, and brochures that were in the house gave us ample opportunities to discover new places and try new things. Extra quilts in the closet allowed us get nice and cozy by the fire on the cooler nights, and the plethora of windows throughout the house gave us an incredible breeze during the day. All of the pots, pans, serving dishes, and cookery made cooking so easy (much easier than at my own house!) that we only went out for one meal during our 5 day stay.
We will definitely be back! This place is perfect for a family trip, but also for trips away with a group of friends. Looking forward to our next opportunity to get away to this paradise by the sea!
I cannot say enough about this property. It was more beautiful than we expected. The house had everything you would need for a week away from home. The beach was the best on the Cape. We had the time of our lives.
My wife and I couldnt have been happier with our selection. This house is better than we expected, perfectly situated on the Cape and close to everything that we wanted to experience. Highly recommended.
Great House right on the bay with views of the Provincetown Monument, Pilgrim Lake and the dunes. Close to all the wonders of Provincetown. Access to the varied and beautiful Truro beaches is available.
