Thrid time back! Once again our week of R & R was great! Driving tour #2 & #3 were wonderful--next year we will try #2 at night--the view was unbelieveable! The drive-in theater was fun--Harry Potter!! But the best was just relaxing on the deck with a few drinks! We look forward to returning again next year!!!!
My husband and our boys (13 and 6) had and amazing 3 days at this cabin. The creek kept our focus. We fished from the porch/dock, from the trail leading down the bank as well as hanging out right in the creek. We swam, floated on tubes, chilled in the hot tub just listening to the sounds of the tumbling creek. The decks with the rocking chairs and swings made for a perfect place to relax and enjoy watching the boys fish, explore and play.
The cabin is adorable inside. We were lucky enough to have some chilly nights to enjoy sitting by the fireplace after chasing fireflies in the forest.
The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture was comfortable and cozy. There were lots of great movies, games and puzzles to choose from. Everything was clean.
We explored the mountain roads around the cabin and enjoyed the wild blackberries and blueberries. Everything was so lush and beautiful.
Of course, we are already talking about returning... next time for a week, at least.
My husband and I decided that we needed a break away for our anniversary. After a very busy year, this was the perfect remedy. We loved the peacefulness of the creek and the authenticity of the cabin as well. It's a must see. We were literally right over the water and my husband now wants to live there. I'm sure we will return to this peaceful oasis. The location was great too.
This cabin looks just like the photos. Just a cozy place.
It is nice to be in the kitchen and visit with the folks in the living area of this open floor plan. It was warm enough during the day to leave the sliding door open for fresh air and the musical sound of the river. This is the perfect hideaway of one or two couples. Our 2 tiny dogs loved running in the woods too. We took long walks and went to town once for dinner.. The driveway is a bit daunting, but manageable. We liked the area so much, we bought a cabin in Blue Ridge, so we would have our own Slice of Heaven.
This Blue Ridge cabin is fabulous...and exactly like the picture, right on the creek! This is the setting I've dreamed of for a long time. The cabin is so cozy, comfortable and relaxing and is perfectly decorated which gives it that home-like feel. We went into town only once and brought in enough precooked meals that we didn't need to go out except to walk a bit. We just sat out on the deck and enjoyed that peaceful creek.
"A little slice..." isan understatement. This place was everything it is advertised and more. We lived on the back porch going from rocking chairs to the swing to the hot tub. It was glorious. We've already booked a longer stay in June. The azaleas were in full bloom and it looked like a lot of rhododendron are coming soon. My entire family had a wonderful weekend. The kids had games and puzzles galore to choose from when it was raining. The TV didn't go on once. It was heavenly!!
We experienced the perfect weekend getaway. Cabin is rustic and the river is the highlight. Recommended for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy nature. Can't wait to rent again.
Scenic Rail Road. Take a train ride thru the mountains! What a blast for all ages.
