About Howard Reynolds
I was born and grew up in Lubec and always loved the 'not too hot' summers and the clean smell of the salt air. However, jobs there are scarce, so I had to move away to make my living. I met my wife, Diane, in Connecticut and we now live in Georgia. My wife has fallen in love with Maine, too. We return to spend vacations there whenever we can. Howard Reynolds

Why Howard Reynolds chose Lubec
The 20 acres with over 500 feet of ocean frontage has been in our family for nearly 50 years. Diane & I bought it from my father in 1988. Since then we enjoyed the infrequent picnic here during our visits to my home town. In 2006, we decided to build our retirement home here - so we have built this log home with everything we wanted in OUR HOME. But unfortunately, right now we can only spend a couple of weeks here each year. In 10 years, when we retire, this will change, but for now we can share this beautiful home/property with others who appreciation what Maine has to offer.
What makes this House unique
We spend most of our time on the Deck. We love to have coffee there each morning while we watch the deer and eagles just a short distance away. We also love to have a fire in the fireplace each evening. We love the freshness of the seafood that we can buy inexpensively at local restaurants or at the docks to prepare at home. But mostly we love the solitude and peacefulness of our private cove. There are no other homes within sight of our home, yet we are only 4 miles away from the center of town.

Great Place to Stay
We had a great time at this log cabin on the water. The view was amazing and house was nice and clean and had everything needed for a nice stay. We had a nice fire in the outdoor firepit on our last night and with a high tide it was really amazing. I would recommend this house for anyone looking for a great place to stay.
Enjoyed it immensely
I would highly recommend this place. It was beautiful and very well kept. It was actually breathtaking. The views were over the top. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. It is really off the beaten path at the very end of the road. Watching high tide come in was spectacular. My only complaint is the WiFi. It was beyond bad. You could not even open Facebook most of the time. I would have been much happier to have been told there is no WiFi than to expect it and have it to be unusable. If not for the WiFi I would have given it a 5 star. Words are hard to come up with to explain the beauty, peace and quite that it has to offer. I would love to stay there all spring, summer and fall. I will be coming back. Next time I will know not to expect WiFi.
I'm sorry the wifi was unacceptable. I checked with our caretaker and he said the service provider is having problems in our area. Hopefully they will resolve the issues soon.
I'm glad everything else was to your liking.
very private and cozy!
The views were spectacular and we enjoyed the firepit in the evening. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.Super close to Campabello Island and the small town of Lubec. There is a grocery store nearby. Would book again!
We loved our week in this fantastic location. Sitting on the deck watching the tide was perfectly relaxing. Already thinking of coming back next year.
So quiet and beautiful.
My husband and I have always loved vacationing in Maine. This year we were looking for something very private and big enough for ourselves and our extended family. We were so fortunate to find The Haven. It was perfect for us. For the first part of our vacation we had five adults and two grandchildren. There was plenty of room. Having all the amenities of home was wonderful. We prepared most of our meals there. We are a hiking family, so we took full advantage of the many hiking trails in the surrounding area. We also explored Eaton Cove with the paddle boat. We had the pleasure of seeing a seal and hearing and seeing an eagle. Many good memories were made in the week we were there. Very relaxing and absolutely beautiful.
