About Anne Duguet

Anne and Christophe. We have been married for 18 years and have two children (now in their teens) , adopted from South America. Anne is a free lance translator (translates novels into French) and is also a Maine Coon cat breeder. She is half English on her mother's side. Christophe is French and works in an insurance company, sharing his time between Paris and the Normandy region.

We both speak English and French

Anne Duguet purchased this barn in 2013

Why Anne Duguet chose Coutances - Saint Lo area

We fell in love with this 17th Century farmhouse, which seemed ideal for our family and way of life. Furthermore, Anne's sister lives about 10 minute drive from our house, which is very nice since we can meet up very often. It was an ideal place for Anne's translation work and for her cattery. Furthermore, since we both love meeting people from all over the world, the idea of having a gite really pushed us into buying this beautiful property.

What makes this barn unique

We loved the view which outstretches from the house and the peace and quiet after living in a busy town. The surroundings are exquisite and we do enjoy having so much space

Very enjoyable stay

  • 4 of 5

We were very sorry we had to leave this peaceful and quiet spot in a beautiful part of Normandy. The gite is comfortable, has virtually all the amenities for a wonderful holiday; all in all a very pleasant base for exploring Le Manche. Additional plus: the owners speak superb English, and we enjoyed our chats. Anne & Christophe, thank you, we wish you and the children all the best and who knows 'a bientot'! Robin & Monique

Alter Bauernhof mit viel Charme

  • 4 of 5

lovely barn in gorgeous garden

  • 5 of 5

We had incredible 11 days without rain in this beautiful, tidy and comfortable barn. Good facilities, bathtub with cosy towels. The surrounding and garden ist calm and relaxing, ideal for families. Friendly and welcoming hostfamily.

Good shops and supermarkets in 10 km distance. Ideal for day trips to the Cotentin-penninsula, D-Day- beaches or Mont-St.-Michel.

We would recommend this place to friends.

A gem in a beautiful part of France

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here in August 2014. The cottage/barn works great for a family of four. It is well equipped and well maintained. The owners are lovely and helpful people and the area is beautiful.

The description on the site is accurate and the property is clean and well looked after. The owners made us feel at home and we would very much recommend La Grange.

There are lots of interesting things to see within an hours drive or so. The nearest town Coutances is cosy and has a beautiful cathedral and a lovely little botanical garden with a playground. The area is crammed with history and its worth mentioning the castle at Pirou, which we discovered by chance.

Outstanding Accommodation in Normandy!

  • 5 of 5

This property is exactly as described in the listing and other reviews. We spent two wonderful weeks touring the beaches, seeing Cherbourg, Le Mont St.-Michel, relaxing in the garden, enjoying the time to cook wonderful meals on our own in the lovely kitchen within La Grange. What we enjoyed most were the quiet surroundings with the huge backyard allowing for total privacy. All trips were within one hour of our location allowing us to enjoy not only the Normandy surroundings, but also to relax right where we were at La Grange. Owners are terrific people who make you feel most welcome, while at the same time respecting your privacy. Highly recommend this to all; we will be back!
