Beautiful home. Great location - close to town and Acadia National Park.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have travel a lot for business and pleasure over the last several years and have stayed at many rented homes as well as high-end hotels. We have gotten use to being prepared to spend the first couple hours (and sometimes even the first day) cleaning up to some extent as more often than not the places we have stayed have not been cleaned well or in some cases it looked like they may not have been cleaned at all. We are not even clean freaks so we can't imagine what a person who IS would do (I suppose they would give up travel). So the very first thing we noticed in this home was the immaculate condition of the entire home. Who ever the housekeeper is deserves kudos if not a raise. In addition it is well stocked and there is thorough information about the home and local stores available when you arrive. Theresa is great to work with and even found time to make herself available to us during power outages during a hurricane. Beautiful home - close to Seawall.

Loved this place!!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful and serene home on the Quiet Side of Mt. Desert. Just outside of Southwest Harbor, with spectacular views, privacy and great wrap-around deck. Photos do not do it justice, and one should not be turned off by all the knotty pine paneling. It's so much more than that, with amazing craftsmanship and incredibly clean, too. Husband, dog and I spent 4 idyllic days here over Labor Day 2017, devouring lobsters, steamers, and fresh Maine produce every night. Heaven!! Theresa was very communicative and easy to work with. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely home on quiet side

  • 4 of 5

Lovely home on quiet side that worked well for my boyfriend and I, his 11 year old son and our dog.

Theresa was a pleasure to work with and left a detailed packet of information for us. Pictures don't do her home justice.

Overall this is a great alternative to a hotel for the week as we could prepare all of our meals. Large kitchen and grill outside.

Would definitely stay again.

Awesome Property!

  • 5 of 5

The Gladview was the perfect home base for our stay in the region. The place was as described, clean and well-stocked for our week-long stay in the area. Less than 10 minutes to the nearest harbortown, with plenty of choices for meals as well as a grocery store for those that like to cook (we didn't1). The owner, Theresa, was very easy to work with and was available if we needed for anything (but did not need to call on her). I would highly recommend the Gladview for your stay in the region. Close to all Acadia park destinations!

Car: recommended

Unwind. Wander along the beach or explore the shops, library, and museums in and around Southwest Harbor. Hike or bike along literally hundreds of trails throughout Mount Desert Island, explore the Seawall, island hop by ferry or mail boat, or take advantage of rentals, and/or guided tours for hiking, cycling, kayaking, sailing, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, and lake/ocean swimming.

The charming fishing and yacht-building village of Southwest Harbor, population 1,900, has an abundance of restaurants, galleries, boutiques, bookstores, antique shops, health food stores, vegetable stands, live theatre, festivals, and county fairs.

Acadia National Park is located on Mount Desert Island and is minutes away with its mountains, shoreline and lakes, this is one of the most spectacular parks in the National Park System.
