About Ruth Michaelis
I've lived in Seattle for 18 years and have fallen in love with the pacific north west. I grew up mostly in the midwest and loved it there too but the west coast weather, hiking, and community create an amazing quality of life here. I work in a community health center in a Seattle suburb and love my work teaching medical students and partnering with patients on their journeys toward healing. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, running, biking, cooking, playing music (mandolin and guitar) and spending time with my 7 and 11 year old beautiful children.
Ruth Michaelis purchased this Apartment in 2003
Why Ruth Michaelis chose Beacon Hill
I have been working on remodeling my 1929 Tudor style home for the last 14 years and am excited to welcome other people to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I have used green reclaimed/recycled products in many areas and have created an efficient radiant heating and water system. I have kept much of the old charm including refinishing doors beams. The house has reclaimed fir as the trim and the floors are made with recycled veneers woven together. I'm a big fan of hot baths and warm towels and so the bathroom reflects this passion. I am currently working on creating a beautiful garden space after the remodel with native plants and organic vegetables.
What makes this Apartment unique
The house is amazingly close to so many things with quick access to hiking on the I90 corridor and 10 minutes from downtown, the convention center, stadiums to name a few. We are 1 block from a huge green space called Jefferson Park which hosts the food forest, golf course with driving range, lawn bowling, skate park, kids playground, amphitheater, cricket and soccer fields, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, outdoor tennis courts. There's a full and very romantic view of downtown Seattle, the Puget Sound and Olympic mountains from the top of the park. We can walk to the buses, sound transit, restaurants, bars and brew pub. The neighborhood is diverse with many Asian and Latino grocery stores and restaurants in walk-able distance.

Very clean and very comfortable!
Enjoyed our stay immensely. Cute apartment. Very comfortable and well equipped. Ruth was extremely easy to contact, and very welcoming when we arrived. Recommend to any one wanting to visit Seattle and to stay at a comfortable, great location apartment. We would definitely book this place again when in Seattle.
A gem of a property and very well located. Owner is fabulous and very accommodating.

Lovely owner, very clean
The basement apartment was cute, clean, and convenient to public transport. Ruth was very welcoming (she let me mail a carseat to her ahead of time). There are a few quirks to be aware of : there are specific instructions on how to get the hot water running and how to sort garbage, etc. which are well-described in the instruction manual in the apartment, the house is under the flight path for the airport so there is quite a bit of airplane noise (tapers off at night), and there is no air conditioning (we just happened to be there during a heatwave). We had a lovely stay.
A very nice and comfortable place.
Clean and comfortable. Easy access to freeway and Seattle area. The shower had amazing water pressure.
