The Villa is spacious and clean and has a private pool and BBQ. Its close to the town of Coral Bay, And a local supermarket. The town has a selection of bars, restaurants and pubs. Very English and probably a bit too British for my liking. Not what I expected of Cyprus being honest.
If you’re a fan of the program “Back In Time For Dinner” and are a lover of the early 70’s then you will love it here!
Unfortunately we were disappointed with some of the things in the villa. The floor of the pool was dirty and the filters only came on for 3 hours each day. (10-12 & 2-3) I would have liked them on all day or to have had a choice when we put them on, given when we were there. Lots of bugs collected in the water and on the ground which didn’t really entice us in.
The beds were pretty horrendous very squeaky and rickety, thin uncomfortable mattresses, with not very nice bedding. Itchy blankets and Ill fitting sheets. It was incredibly cold in the evenings. Not that we can predict the weather, but every time you moved in bed to try and keep warm, the squeaking woke you up. If that didn’t, then the dogs in a neighbouring house, incessant barking at 4am certainly didn’t help with the lack of sleep either.
The walk to the main town takes around 15 minutes from the villa and is along a narrow dark and unlit road that leads to the main road up into the town. (Around 700m) I would strongly suggest taking torches otherwise you won’t be able to find your way out or back again if walking. It’s quite scary with children. Even though there are lights in the ground, they are not switched on??
There is a bath with a dripping tap above for a shower. We were travelling with a child who likes a bath but no plug is provided so unable to use. Even though we did ask for one a couple of days into our stay.
There is a great Cypriot bbq which we used to cook some delicious fish from the supermarket. Sea bream and octopus purchased that day, was amazing. We moved the bigger dining table from the balcony and swapped it with the smaller one under the pagoda as it was more comfortable for us as a family to eat in the shade by the pool and bbq, we also needed the bigger table to put all our food and not be cramped. However, whilst we were out that evening, the owner had moved the tables back to how he likes them to be. I found this somewhat intrusive and rather restrictive to be honest, that he was not allowing us to use the space as we would have liked to.
Accommodation was lovely private and very well maintained with a few tweaks it would be perfect. The bus service between Coral Bay and Paphos is fantastic there is a bus stop 15 walk from the villa and busses every 10-15 mins. There are many lovely beaches and restaurants around the area although Coral Bay main street was quite disappointing to us but that is just a personal opinion. We would happily stay at the Villa again. It is a beautiful location within easy reach of many lovely places and Kristos was the perfect host
Fantastic relaxing holiday, I would recommend it.
the villa was perfect for the 2 of us.
the owner and his family were really nice and friendly.
nothing was to much trouble.
the pool area was great and just what was needed after a hot day .
there is loads of seating area out of the sun also witch was perfect .
I had a fantastic holiday and would defo stay again.
only thing missing was more things in the kitchen but with so much choice out it wasn't a problem.
We had a fantastic holiday. The villa was perfect and location was superb quiet great views and Coral bay amenities within walking distance.
Excellent. Could not recommend the whole holiday highly enough. Christos the owner was very friendly and always accessible. Restaurants and bars of Coral Bay just a walk away. Maybe because we booked fairly late it was an absolute bargain The whole trip was idyllic. This particular villa was spacious had a large pool and because of the nature of the gardens and hedges there was plenty of privacy.
The beach at Peyia, on Cyprus's west coast, is known as Coral Bay and is ideal for families in search of safe swimming and soft sand. A large horseshoe-shaped cove flanked by steep limestone cliffs. It is the classic holiday sandy beach, with safe swimming and Blue Flag status. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the beach and in the resort itself, and many are surprisingly appealing - this is not a resort with lots of high-rise and development.
