Fantastic house on an amazing island!
My husband and I stayed at Parrots Perch for a week, and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! The house is everything you need it to be and more. The decor is attractive without being over the top, the location is private and quiet, and the flora and fauna are incredible around the property! We would definitely stay here again!! Michelle and Kentrell were amazing hosts, easy to get in touch with, and very friendly and helpful.
Parrots Perch is exactly as described. A beautifully furnished cottage in Central Abaco.
I found Parrots Perch to be an ideal place to stay in Central Abaco. It is nicely furnished and accurately described. It rests on one of the few developed lots within Long Beach Estates a couple miles south of Schooner Bay. All appliances worked great and the large A/C unit cooled the place nicely. Big refrigerator, lots of luxurious linens and towels, complete kitchen with all the essentials and then some made for a very comfortable stay. The wildlife (Abaco Parrots and curly tailed lizards) were fun to watch. The small screened in porch has two great chairs and the large hammock out front were both very comfortable. The large binder had an amazing collection of brochures on Abaco and the Bahamas and even a 2010 issue of National Geographic featuring Bahamian Blue Holes. Fascinating read!
I was most impressed with the owner’s obvious efforts to answer any questions I had prior to as well as during my stay. She really cares and I will look forward to booking here next time I return.
Kentrell and Marvin Walker are your local hosts. They are a local, friendly couple who live close by and are a great information resource. Kentrell also had Parrots Perch in a spotless, super clean condition upon my arrival. If you plan to visit Sandy Point or Cherokee Sound, Parrots Perch is a great midpoint location for your extended stay!
Verizon’s daily travel plan allowed me to place and receive calls from the States, check emails and access the web when desired. Yes, this is a somewhat remote area (30 miles away from Marsh Harbor) and provided a great place to stay for a reasonable price. As a DIY bonefisher, it was ideal and hard to beat!
Thank you so much Alan! It was such a pleasure. We will LOVE to have you back at Parrots Perch.

We had a very nice two week stay at Parrots Perch
The cottage was comfortable, had nice little "touches" and coffee on the porch with 40 beautiful and chatty wild Abaco parrots, considering their endangered status was very special. As was moonlight on a deserted beach, the sound of surf through the window to sleep by and the friendly neighbors. The caretaker was great and the owners sincerely interested in making sure we were happy was great. If you want to get away and are capable of making your own good time...this place is for you. If you need modern entertainment options...it isn't. We hope to return next year.
Coming from the Mountains of Maine...it was comfy, quaint, friendly and we had a blast.
