The property was so beautiful and everything we ever could have needed was there!
We had a great time. Kids had fun fishing on the lake. Camp was adequate and has all the necessities.
Unfortunately we had to spend several hours cleaning the house after we arrived just so we would feel comfortable staying in it. The tub was filthy and had to be sprayed down three times to get it cleaned. The refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee maker were grimy and dirty. The basement smelled so musty that we couldn't use the third bedroom. The lid of the trash can had grime and food on it. The deck chairs that were out had spider webs on them. We also couldn't keep the French doors open to the deck because there were no screen doors so that limited the airflow on very hot days. It is unfortunate that they do not take the time to clean because the camp is in a great location on the lake and was very well stocked and provided a canoe and great fire pit for our use. Great privacy, nice dock and yard. This rental could earn four to five stars if it was cleaned before we got there.
We were very happy with this house. Very well stocked, clean, and a good price. You cant beat the large deck and beautiful views. We would definitely return!
We had a great time while at Little Madawaska we enjoyed the home very much it was in a great location. It could have been a bit cleaner considering they charge a 50 dollar cleaning deposit we had to do a spider sweep when we got there. We also cleaned the tub, down in the basement where there are also beds the smell was quite bad it was a musty mildew smell as the week went on it dissipated some from us using the de- humidifier. We loved the lake and canoeing we were just looking for a quiet week and we were not disappointed, it was very peaceful and enjoyable. We didn't have to contact the owner for anything while there but he was friendly and gave a tour when we first got there. I would rent it again in the future.
Summer and Fall offers water sports right from the dock which is in the front yard. ATV trails are just 2 miles from the camp. Hiking, biking, fishing and golfing are all available close by, with many more activities located in the nearby towns of Caribou and Fort Kent. Winter and Spring offers up all types of winter sports! Snowmobiling is probably the most popular.
You can go hundreds of miles in every direction on some of Maine's best-groomed trails. There are also all types of skiing, snowshoeing and many area winter carnivals. This area is also a great getaway for the solitude required by writers, painters and other artists. Long-term rates are available for this pet friendly lakeside camp. Smoking is also allowed in the basement area and outside. To make reservations or for more information please contact call or email us.
